Thanks for this, I'm a recent AoS player and I picked Maggotkin as my first faction (I loved painting Nurgle models for 40k/Kill Team). I've really come to love Blightkings in low point games. With a mass of wounds and attacks they're just impossible for my opponents to remove.
Something to keep in mind is that everyone in Houston knows that James has the golden touch. He can pick any army or unit to focus on in his list building and he goes 4-1. Every time.
Great insight and well presented! Currently putting together my 2k list as a brand new AOS/ WH player, so helped a great deal! The breakdown of the Q&A/ discussion was easy to follow and understand. A++ On the mortal route so great to see a in depth talk on a list similar to my own I've thrown together in my limited knowledge capacity. Vanguard box, mortal start collecting box plus a model or two XD - Army Faction: Maggotkin of Nurgle - Subfaction: Drowned Men - Grand Strategy: Hold the Line - Triumph: Inspired LEADERS The Glottkin (700) - Spells: Rancid Visitations Festus the Leechlord (150) - Spells: Gift of Disease Lord of Afflictions (210) - General - Command Traits: Overpowering Stench - Artefacts of Power: Rustfang BATTLELINE 2 x Pusgoyle Blightlords (220) 2 x Pusgoyle Blightlords (220) 5 x Putrid Blightkings (250) 5 x Putrid Blightkings (250) TOTAL POINTS: 2000/2000 Take care and all the best!
Very nice... I'd have to look at the points & warscroll differences but I wonder if you're better off with a Rotbringer sorcerer instead of Festus. Good list though
bloab is legit. i faced the big fighty stormcast dragon on tuesday and Bloab got this spell off on it two turns in a row. i was nickle and dime damaging it each phase then doing D3 at the end of each, then disease. killed it no problem. an excellent spell, and he's not a slouch in melee in a pinch.
@@AoSCoach Nothing officially announced, but I used the Warhammer Open in Austin for the Texas Master’s Austin GT last year. They let us know they won’t be in Texas this year.
Initially they were dropped after going up in points, however; GUO's are returning into daemon focused builds. I've played against a few recently actually
I was wondering which lists he faced in his tournaments. I gave this list a go recently and the Glottkin got shot off the table by longstrikes straight away.
How might they perform for total novices? im looking to start a nurgle army as a total noob to AoS, but i have been hearing the recent changes were not so welcome and i dont want to get horrendously punished due to lack of knowledge or versatility within the army. rule of cool may win in the end but always good to get a second opinion :)
Nurgle are a very forgiving army with lots of wounds, a ward save and healing, and with a low model count i think they will he a good start for a total novice. I have a few nurgle videos on the channel now if you want to hear other competitive opinions
