I was talking about how both cagers and motorcycles need to do these things to stay safe on the road when this happened. The irony...

Ride like you are invisible to everyone is the best advice I've ever been given

For hill starts, I got used to using my rear brake to leave my throttle hand to the throttle, and left hand to clutch. Rear brake is also a major factor in low speed maneuvers such as u-turns

Yea that’s what I do. Hill starts aren’t new to me, just don’t practice them often

@@itsmissy_xo oh, gotcha. Practicing the foot brake in general helped me build the coordination and limb independence for all things related to brakes. My brain still has occasional derp moments though lol

My favorite edit ever is the duck quack for swear words. Every time it's funny. Keep up the videos you are who new riders need to see, not some person flying down the freeway at a buck 20. with no gear.

When I had a motorcycle and riding gear that made me look like a motorcycle cop, no one EVER pulled out on me, and ALWAYS gave me a lot of space, funny that.

First video of yours that I've seen and around the @11:00 mark you're saying that you're not ready for the interstate and I'm blown away. Your insight into anticipating other drivers, being vigilant and riding on streets where there's cross traffic which I find WAY more dangerous... I'll check back soon to see/hear your commentary on riding where everyone is going the same direction. You'll love it.

When you are riding a motorcycle be aware that people in cars dont see you. Pretend that you are invisible and nobody see you. You will be alot safer if you do.

I feel like you just need to feed your bike just a bit more throttle when starting off hill or no hill. As long as your smooth with the clutch and don't just drop the clutch it you won't launch forward.

Learning to recognize open lane patterns and a cars blind spot goes along way.Practice slow manuvers and emergency braking at different speeds until its 2nd nature. We think alike when ridding. I chose my routes based on time of day and traffic.Hate being totally back lit during a setting sun.

Im a truck driver, and i ride a motorcycle, and you would be surprised how much opposite ends of the spectrum have in common. Im alway guessing, correctly, what a person is going to do ither by their head, or their positioning, what did they just do?? I pay attention to the flow of tradfic. Have had a cdl since 97, and got my first bike in 94. You have to anticipate what others are going to do.

I only ever had bad experience with GoPros and was starting to not use any cameras at all to document my driving for myself until I saw that RyanF9 uses Insta360s for their filming, and the results where so, so much better. Worst offender were overheating GoPros which then shut off suddenly. I hated that.

We've had these GoPro Hero 4's for a loooong time and I personally haven't had any issues. I just bought a Hero 10 Black which will be here this week. I also have the Insta360 x3 which I'm loving so far. For future videos I'll likely use both cameras, just in case one corrupts or something happens, I'll have a backup :)

I do that same thing. I scout any new route with my truck first. Mostly I am looking for bad surfaces. My truck can handle going down roads with major potholes, but not so much me and my bike. Also, where I live are a lot of driveways with gravel and knowing that the curves are covered in gravel makes a huge difference. I like the Forma boots as well. They are really nice. I have the Forma ADV Tourer boots.

@@itsmissy_xo When this video popped up again. I was reminded of something you said in it that for some reason I didn't type the first time. You should know that if you are a half size, then the boots tend to run about half a size smaller, so if they feel like they need to break in from a foot length point of view, you might just need the next size up. There is very little likelihood that the materials in this boot are going to break-in in your life time.
@itsmissy_xo
@itsmissy_xo День назад
@@ariesmarsexpress I'm normally a full size in most boots/shoes, even took a tape measure to my foot for accuracy since the boots were over $250 and I didn't want to deal with needing to possibly return them lol. I rode in them yesterday and they didn't bother me at all 😄 New video tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by again 💛

Thank you for sharing your video....Just for safety sake, ALWAYS mirror AND "shoulder check" before going around someone in the same lane. Perhaps you did as you rode into that that turning lane, and I just missed it. I only mention it because you eluded to only having "split" a few times. Sorry if this sounds "mansplainy";)! Unintentional if so! Ride safely on your beautiful bike! Good luck with the new channel!

Some very wise words. I believe that we either have the sixth sense about cagers or we are dead. I look at cagers eyes and that tells me straight away if I have been seen. Lots of time I will simply roll of the throttle at junctions as you said during this ride.

Many of us that ride are also “cagers”. It’s NOT us versus them. Very few MC purists in the US. So always be asking yourself, “Do I drive like that when I’m in my car?” “Have I made THAT same mistake once?” Or “Where would my eyes be looking?” in the same situation, but behind the wheel. Do you tend to use the same habits when riding as you would when driving? That’s when rider telepathy really starts to develop, and the near-misses go down in frequency. The more quickly a rider can adopt the mentality of being absolutely present and aware of the situation of the road around them, the longer they’ll survive.

I rely on my back break a lot more than my front. Learning to get comfortable with the back break helps on hills bc u have to give power and release the break at the same time. I’m 5’5” and as long I have it slightly leaned I have been able to keep it from stalling and falling😂.
@itsmissy_xo
@itsmissy_xo 7 дней назад
I'm 5' so a little bit shorter lol. I rely on the back brake for hill starts only, and mostly use my front brake (and some back) for most braking on flat areas. The front brake has more braking power so its good to have a healthy relationship with it. I came from dirtbike riding where I relied a LOT more on the back brake. It was hard for me to rely on the front brake at all when I first started riding on the street, my MSF instructor knew immediately I learned how to ride on a dirtbike because of how much I was using my back brake more than my front lol.

Defensive Riding is a proven method if you wanna live to tell the tales... lol, most incidences I see on video are avoidable and speed is normally involved as well. I see lots of riders who try to fight to hold a lane against other vehicles but to my way of thinking ..... Umm, you may be right but being "Dead Right" is no way to live !? Let people in/out & know that folks can not see you. Even if they did see you, by the time they look the other way & start to ""BAM"" > you are at their car so they may see you but do not understand the sheer acceleration that your bike has. Your bike isn't as fast but still most crashes could have been prevented by the rider = you are the only one who can save your arse ~ be safe/wise, peace
