Widespread Panic perform "Tall Boy" into "Testify" into "Tall Boy" live at the inaugural Bonnaroo Music Festival on June 22, 2002 - special guests Dottie Peoples and The People's Choice Choir sitting in.
There are moments in life that you look back on them to realize you haf witnessed something incredible. This was NOT one of those moments. Everyone there knew exactly what we were witnessing, one of my greatest live music memories ever. Absolute perfection. Rip mikey.
Hell yeah 😂 Even the strung-out and down-near-comatose people had to jump their asses up and move 🥳 You just HAD TO BE THERE. There was electricity. This video is a good document but being there 🙄
I'll admit I'm only really a casual Panic fan, but I feel for you true fans. Jimmy is undoubtedly a shredder, but even I can hear how much better they were as a band with Mikey on board. Not to mention he wrote alot of my favorite songs by them. R.I.P Mikey, I know more than a few people who still mourn you even 20 years later. Thats love. Panic fans will never forget you.
@@lukefish7562 what up buddy! I was kicking truth when I left that comment. All WSP fans I've met that predate Herring still miss "the lingering lead." My one dude has the Mikey silhouette of him sitting playing his guitar and whipping people into a frenzy on just about every posession he owns lol. Car, coolers, hats, shirts, etc. His spirit is strong in that fanbase.💯🎶🕺✌ Edit- plus back in the day you could still hear JB's guitar smh.
That night and into the morning curling up into tent post Galactic. In traffic yesterday due to accident, stop n go for miles...reminded me of the exit from the show when it had concluded. Great to see this video pop up the day after thoughts.
WARNING ⚠️⚠️!! DO NOT WATCH WHILE DRIVING!!!! Cop: Why in the hell were you just driving 105mph in a 55mph man!!!??? Me: It was Dottie Peoples and Panic Sir. Cop: That Talloy>Testify?? Me: YES!! Cop: Do you mind starting that video over son? Me: 😁
Maybe my favorite concert experience ever. When she sang “GET UP” I felt like I was jumping 10 feet off that Tennessee ground. Bonnaroo 2002 was magical.
@@mattmayhem33 you said it brotha! Emotionally charged to the max! Any and all people in attendance should consider themselves blessed. I know I do. WSMFP! ❤️
This was one of my favorite nights of my life. I started crying that night and some sweet guy picked me up and swung me around and hugged me. We all knew what was happening and what we were part of .So many memories and moments with WSP that I can never forget. Rip Mikey . That lingering haunting guitar is forever our hearts ,and some of the most fun times in my life.
I watched this for the 12,000th time this past weekend from Bonnaroo Classics or something and nothing gives me the same chills as reliving Dottie Peoples and all of us there testifying together for our dear Mikey. 😇 So happy y’all released this so many more can get a taste of what it was like that night. One of many a magical moments and the most power charged with the boys ever. 🙏🏽❤️🙂
Amazing show and will miss these moments. But cherish knowing I was there for this moment and for the first 3 Bonnaroo festivals, hot, rainy, whatever TN threw at us we went. Thanks for the memories! ❤
Glad to see this on RU-vid! I got the Bonaroo dvd years ago & this was always my favorite song. Had seen Widespread twice before over the years, and never really “got” them. This song, this version, did it for me. I’d dig Widespread for sure ! Thank you Dottie Peoples !
I was just levitating without a doubt the place caught the ghost that night…first experience with group mind taking the reigns…..almost as if it was a dream
