In Canada they were Rabbits. The Golf name started in 1985 for Canadian cars. This was the year of a complete changeover.

Damn, what a beautiful car. I have always wanted to restore a mk1 rabbit. But I am currently only a student and have no mechanical knowledge. Plus, how would you even insure this car? You invested so much in this.

Yeah. It's the 3 letter abbreviation for Tasmania. Where this car was registered. It's an Australian owned car. If you'd like to exercise a patronising tone, it'd serve you well to at least be informed or speak within the context of the discussion.
