This is the most "First World Problem" movie ever.

The part where the mean girl teased her for being tall in elementary makes no sense. Everyone knows that being tall in grade school meant that you were respected, after all, you looked *older*.

While she's telling you how hard her life is, the first thing she mentions is that she has name-brand shoes.

The premise of a girl being mocked for her height MIGHT'VE made more sense if it was set in elementary or middle school. Being a tall girl in high school is both a figurative and literal advantage...

I have a 15 year old sister who is also 6"1 and my mother hasn't let her watch this movie because she's already self conscious about her height and this sort of shit doesn't help.

In another comment section: She acts like she can't just drop kick every kid in high school.

Back in my old high school there was this girl who was 6 ft something but she was one of the most popular girls in school. She played volley ball and she had her nick name on her shirt thing (sorry I don't do sports). And it was "Green Giant". She got bullied more for being vegetarian then being tall.

Honestly, the "You think your life is hard?" bit would be really great in a better developed film. It really establishes her as your average teen who think high school is the center of the universe and are almost arrogantly convinced that they're the only person who has to deal with problems. Having her mature over the course of the movie and start to realize that everyone has issues they need to deal with, big or small, leading to her accepting herself and being a better person towards others (rather than this awful self-centered speech she has in the film) would be a much more interesting development and provide the viewer actual value in watching, rather than wasting their time with a film that's teaching very questionable ways to behave.

2019 tall girl: guys make fun of how tall she is. 2021 resident evils tall lady: men want her to step on them. Looking at this review and seeing TikTok about tall vampire lady.

Jody isn't leading him on because she's rejected him MULTIPLE TIMES. She isn't leading him on, he's just an obsessive creep with some serious issues.

As a tall female I can say that this movies explanation about what being above average hight is like is sort of true but they don't execute it well at all. And what he said they could've done to make the main protagonist and the premise of the movie more unique (5:08 to 5:54) made me wish that he made this movie and not whoever actually made the movie. :)

I was bullied for my race and dealt with daily racist comments on my ethnicity and culture. It was up to the point I would always cover myself up, head to toe, just to hide my ethnic features and skin colour. I was so insecure with my cultural heritage. **But hey! She is every high school girls basketball coaches dream.

Literally, this girl doesn't talk to anyone, doesn't participate in anything, displays no talents and no real personality, and then is surprised when the only things people know about her is that she's tall.

SHE’S LITERALLY NOT THAT TALL. She’s only 6”1 and in literal high school. There’s tonnnnnns of over six foot guys at my school but they literally just cast everyone shorter than her. I legit know a 12 year old that’s 6”4.

let me just rewrite the script: Jodi's tall and she feels insecure by herself and doesn't feel confident at all because people at her school make joke(s) that they think it's fun (but they don't mean to make her sad) about her height. Because of her being tall, the P.E teacher offers her to join the basketball team (or volleyball or any sport that needs tall persons) and she agrees because her family and friends SUPPORT her and she somehow wants to try something new. At first, she doesn't know how to use her height as a advantage and wants to quit, then once again her family and friends encourage Jodi and she tries really hard and it pays off. She's now good at basketball and proud of being tall and feels confident. There's a basketball competition and her team is performing really good teamwork to go to the final and her team wins. Now she is at the school and gives a remarkable speech about the winning and her adventure of being tall with a good message. Now she's special, haves connect with her family, friends and no romance bullshit. END

You know why everyone ostracises her? She dresses like a wannabe janitor

Alternative ending: since milk boy and German guy are living together they start falling for each other realising they don’t need to be in a relationship with Jodie and Jodie realises she’s enough for herself

This movie isn't a bunch of guys, mostly nerds, asking her out for the chance at a strong, protective, tall mommy gf that'll crush them with her thighs. 0/10 no realism whatsoever.

Kids with acne literally have more reason to struggle with their physical appearance than she has.

My sister is 5'11, and literally no one cares about her height. Sometimes people will remark "wow you're so tall!" and then move on with life. I can't believe this movie actually exists, and it's even more unbelievable that it got a sequel.

Being tall CAN be really tough, if you’re tall enough to hit your head and not fit on mattresses, have back problems and leg problems, but it’s clear this movie wasn’t written by someone who even knew someone who was above average in height.

"I hate that I'm being judged unfairly by others based on my height" also her "I can't go out with a man that is shorter than me".

This movie becomes interesting if you view it from the perspective that the main character is a really toxic person who others avoid for being toxic, but can't accept that reality and instead blames her shortcomings on things outside her control. With the movie being how she incorrectly remembers the events happening, rather than them actually happening. It makes more sense, and causes you to ask "now what actually happened here?" for every scene that happens. Her random bit of being smart in the library? That's what she came up to say in the shower long after that scene actually happened. The strange dialogue? That's her memory removing all nuances of the situation so she can be the victim. The tall exchange student being bland as bread? That's because she only saw his height and didn't pay any attention to his personality, so she doesn't remember it.

She says she’s tall. I say literally everyone in that school is weirdly short to make her look taller.

I had a friend who was her height in high school. She was popular, the lead youth ballet dancer for the local troupe and started her own photography company at age 15. No one made fun of her for her height or made comments on it every 5 minutes. Her only complaint about her height was that there were no guys in her ballet troupe her height but that was because she really wanted the lead part in a show and the guy they chose for the lead couldn’t lift her for the climax of the show. The lead character of this movie got nothing to complain about 😂

Realistically, every boy would be after her. The boys in my school always complained that girls are too short and thirsted over this one 6 ft 3 model

Having been bullied (to an extreme in a few cases), I can safely say that, yes, children are that petty and unimaginative. When I was in elementary school, everyone called me Pickles because it rhymed with my last name at the time. When I was in middle school, my bullies called me Michael Jackson for no reason other than that it confused me, which they thought was hilarious. When I was in high school, people got more crafty and spread rumors designed to get me suspended or arrested (claims about drug possession, intent to hurt others, weapons in my backpack, etc.)

Little known fact the "T" in LGBTQ+ stands for Tall.

At least she is pretty, has clear skin, is smart and is blonde. She could be a model, could play a sport or put more effort into playing piano. Ugh classsic teen movies with their useless main characters

It's super stupid and weird like considering she's like 6 ft and I went to school with a lot of girls over six foot, all played basketball and/or volleyball and all of them super popular, gorgeous, getting boyfriends left and right....Like they weren't being chased by angry mobs.
