I actually really like Casey as a temporary member, he adds his own take to the songs, like the "let us sing!". I don't think he's better or worse than Joe, he feels like his own thing.
Yeah I love the weird shift in energy Casey brought compared to Joe. Casey also seems more expressive in general than Joe which isn’t good or bad in itself but funny after hearing that Joe perfoms like an Easter island statue most of the time
I never disliked casey shea as a temporary replacement for joe, but I always found it really funny how different the two are based on personality/style. joe has to be one of the most difficult people to replicate
i saw the last joe hawley year at the bowery ballroom on his triumphant return right before the end. i have photos. the best band in the world. the incomparable april smith and the great picture show opened for them.
My favorite parts The baby crying Casey pouring all his heart and soul into the “Let us sing” Casey getting attacked by a mic Zubin almost snapping his back trying to sing into the mic And Casey trying to sing into the mic and failing
@@naturalketchup1791 they released a musical masterpiece then just left. And it's so unfortunate because they were incredibly unique, intelligent and creative individuals. They Just didn't get the attention or following that they deserved
if they play good day ever again can we all just PLEASE bring a piece of lettuce to throw on stage when they start singing “let’s us sing ! let’s us sing !” PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU
Matt G from Wikipedia: In their 2010 March tour with Jukebox the Ghost and Skybox, it was reported that Joe Hawley had unexpectedly backed out of the tour. Hawley was replaced with Casey Shea, who wore a black tie. On March 25, 2011, the band announced that all five original band members were still together.
What response? Anyways, I think TH wouldn't be the same without joe. He literally wrote the songs that were popularized these days. That includes: Ruler of Everything, The bidding, and Hidden in the Sand. Also, Hawaii Pt. II, most songs there are written by him which also is really popular album that also introduce the band to a wider group of audiences. He may have done terrible things, but I hope that doesn't invalidate what he did for the band and the music he created.
