Thanks. My brother and I are about to build one. We've actually have built a few dozen Tamiya and other brand RC cars for ourselves and others over the last 3 odd decades, but it's always good to get this kind of insight before we bust open the blister packs. 😉👍

Yeah, I usually check out a few build videos on RU-vid before starting a new kit too - as you say, it's good to get an insight from other builders. I'm sure you will both love the Konghead - it's fast becoming one of my favourites. It's an interesting build, not too challenging but good fun all the same - and when it's finished you will have one of the most versatile Tamiyas available - this thing will run just about anywhere! You're welcome, Pete! I'm not a fan of metal suspension arms, they don't absorb impacts well and transfer stress to the mounts which are plastic. Also, I've run this truck many times and never felt that it needed a skid plate. All the best!
Cheers Robert K - glad the video made you smile! Yeah, I'm used to building 'standard' type 2 or 4 wheel drive gearboxes, but this is in a different league. I thought the drag produced by all these gears would slow the truck down but it seems to go quite well - maybe those metal bearings have helped a little =)
