I use this quite often actually. Both holders. Another technique I use for bodies is metal coat hangers. You can always just bend them into shape and they become great stands.

I just bought one. On ebay I found the optional alligator clips that fit the clip slots. I can't wait to try it out.

+sohchx To everyone their own opinion; I bought one, and I never use it. The pegs for the parts holder are too thick, and it is sometimes not possible to put a part in it because it will slip out of the peg. Small parts cannot be put in those pegs. I use aluminum clips to hold the parts which are easier to work with than the part holder. I don’t use the body holder either; I use a small plastic bottle with double sided tape on the cap. When spraying, a bottle rotates more easily in my hand than that body holder. The body holder would work if you have it sitting on a table when you’re spray painting, but I don’t do this. It’s obvious that you like this painting stand, but I respectfully disagree with you that this is “an absolute must have for any modeler”. If someone thinks this painting stand is a bit expensive, then he shouldn’t worry about getting one. Just my two cents.

+otoko mae I agree with your honest opinion. I do have these stands from Tamiya and I frequently use the body holder one, however I still find my older stand method more useful. Before buying this, I always used an old rattle can with a double sided tape on the top and attach the body to it. This gave me perfect mobility of the body while airbrushing without any type of interference. But one day, a gust of wind overturned this old stand method with the body still attached to it while drying (thankfully the body had already dried and no damage was caused), however after that I immediately purchased these stands. The body holder is great but I'm not the type of modeller that puts the body on the table and sprays it. I want the body to be constantly in my hand and I rotate it wherever is needed, and this stand is not that flexible for this! The other stand, the one with the pegs, I've never used it so I can't share my opinion, and that's because my old method of attaching every part to a piece of sprue, spraying it and then attaching it to a piece of styro-foam for drying, still work perfectly and gives me all the flexibility I require! Once again, thanks Elliott for another fantastic review from you.

I agree about the wide clips and use Tamiya Alligator Clips (74528) which are compatible with the stand instead or blutack stuck to cocktail or shish kebab sticks.

Well I got 8 pegs. but the other 4 were of a different kind - crocodile pegs... however I bought my stand in 2010.

I haven't used mine yet, but I bought it because I watched so many videos of modelers who did, and then it took me forever to find out who made it! lol
