The XR & XM are add on kits for the 201 , the XR kit had the aluminum chassis with the motor over the rear wheels & XM made it a mid motor set for high traction tracks . Then I think it 201 xmv finally the 211 with the white chassis . Great video Glenn can't wait to see what she ends up looking like .👍

Awesome, I have one of these and I love it. It is very much a copy of the B4 in layout/concept (I have a B4 as well). I'd suggest leaving the hex drive on the back if you plan to drive it often/race it, it is a common mod that increases the amount of different wheels you can use. There is also a mod to put hexes on front for a more modern front end set up. These are a classic for those who love TRF's It took me a while to find mine, had to get help from a forum. Funnily enough I'd seen a few recently for sale....but I already have one now....

Great video, really big value to me, definitely following along your 2WD mission. I bought a TRF201 a couple months ago, it works but really needs a lot of restoring, very worn, I have no idea how many owners it's had... I got two bodies with it but both painted not to my liking, so I got a new body and wing ordered. I also have that forward cockpit body you mention, it's really cool looking, and as you said, it's got better space in the rear, the one you got there, not much space for an ESC. Lots of work to do on mine, hoping to have it ready for summer 2021.

Check to see if you have one of the weighted front bulkhead. They come with a different blue aluminum front brace. Great upgrade as it puts much needed weight on the nose. They came in 0 or 5 degree. The US kits came with body, wing, and wheels, but no tires. Also came with the blue aluminum motor mount. There were I believe 3 different motor mounts that were available. The white springs will have a small color dot on the bottom to signify their rate. I’ve had my trf201 since 2013, never raced it though, which is a real shame. Life kinda got in the way after buying it.

I know it’s just an optical illusion but I could swear the front wheels/tires look larger than the rears - will be cool to see this one on the track for sure 👍

Almost all 2wd competition buggy back in that day had tendency to eat corners of rear spoilers due to wheels contacting it. I had losi xxx cr, rc10b4 and x factory x6 and all of them had the same issue :)

Great video, great car! I had two sealed kits and the exotek conversion kits that I ended up selling to two of my racing freinds. I needed money to buy two car seats for my kids. Later I ended up buying two of the 201 XMW chassis along with two TRF211XM conversion kits. They are still sitting in my closet factory sealed, LOL! I have a problem... at least that is what my friends and family say. Maybe I should make some vids and show my crazy TRF collection... I think I have them all, or darn near close.

We are interested to see this going further as we have one waiting cleaning and refitting on our workbench. We hope to hit the International Race Grand Prix circuit in Kampenhout with it in the spring of 2021

Hi Glenn ! I have a Schumacher Courgar SV 2WD Buggy here with a custom paint job in really good condition. If you are interested in buying it, let me know...I don´t need it anymore. I am totally in love with the WLtoys 144001 at the moment and don´t need any 1/10 daily drivers anymore.

It was not so long ago they were peddled off dirt cheap. I saw one advertised about 2-3 odd years ago going for $125 on amazon. It was from tamiya USA, and therefore came with a body. AND Amazon were willing to ship for a reasonable cost to my neck of the rural woods in South Africa. So I bought one, along with some proline tires for it, and it arrived something like a week later. I had very little idea of what it was. When it dawned on me that it was a score, I tried to order another one. Except that now the price was revised to something like $505😮. To this day I have never built the thing though. It’s still in its box somewhere.

Great looking car, do the rear wheels need spacing out further to stop possible tyre rub on the wing? Or a change in wheel offset, as front wheels seem spaced wider than the rear👍

Yesterday i bought a Zahhak, the downsized version of the TRF201. The Zahhak is not so popular. Maybe because the bodyshell looks very ugly. My comes with TRF body. I also bought a set of TRF BigBore shocks for it. It is my first 2wd buggy. I hope he performes very well.

Hi Glenn, love the knowledge and passion you bring to your vids. I’ve got a Durga and a Zahhak that I am fitting with a tblm 10.5T and tble-03 esc (with the built in fan) each. Can I use a 7.4v lipo safely? Or will the esc explode?

Not that it probably matters in this case, but Lee actually won the Euros 2010 and 2011 with the TRF201.

I got the Zahhak for 110 and every hop up they had available at the time . Built it and still haven’t got around to running it yet . If you see a deal on tamiya USA and want it let me know I’ll order it and mail it to you .

Well if you are going to copy a car the B4 was the one. It basically dominated for about 5 years straight if i remember correctly.

I know someone who has front suspension arms constantly on order as a result of them snapping due to landing every jump nose down and bending them backward,wouldn't happen if it had something protruding past the front wheels,ie bumper lol even if it doesn't look cool! Worked out he'd spent more than the car was worth,ended up saying that they'd last longer if he drove 100 meters away into the brick wall !!! Was it the top cat that fixed this problem? I like the colour of the shell already but decals are lacking,not a fan of pink flames sorry if offended!:)

Every time I'm watching videos of Tamiya fans I'm wondering if I also would've ended up like that if my first (and last for that matter) Tamiya car wouldn't have been a Terra Crusher, which really turned me away from buying another Tamiya car.

Well if you're going with all the two-wheel drive you still have to get the dt03.

People don't seem to realize that Tamia used to win races more often than they didn't back in the day decades ago.

You might as well collect every trf they ever made since you're going in that direction just to say you have them all. Lol

that body come with the kit I mean if you had the kit first of all it's good looking body but I don't know if that's to my body?

You still need a DN 01 or otherwise known as zahhak.

You should be able to for free or very little money from Tamiya get the instructions for it.
