Hehe 😊 at this moment you're the most prolific scale modeler I know. I have no idea how do you manage to have one model each month, but it's definitely a thing to which I aspire. Well done! You now have a pair for the Beetle, you should build a diorama for them, as they clearly deserve it. By the way, I didn't know Tamiya had had this model in their catalogue. You have only hidden gems in your stash 😊
:)))) Thank you, my friend! Is hard work to finish all these models but I want to make room in my stash for new models :))) This VW new Beetle is from a friend and had body damaged from paint and I get it for free.
I am dreaming on a Focus WRC re-edit from Tamiya. If the will ever re-sale that model I'll be like "shut up and take my money!" 😋 That Focus and Impreza P2 WRC made history in WRC and occupy a very important place in my teenage memories. I remember that I couldn't wait for the weekend to watch the WRC on Eurosport 💙
I'm experimenting regular art acrylic called brilliant red. if it doesn't work, then I'll use tamiya's x7, simply "red." i think none of them are correct to the red that red beetles should be in. :P
If you want accurate colors you need to try Laquer paints from Zero Paints or Gravity Paints (you can filter colors on their site based on car model) or Tamiya Laquer Paints or Mr hobby Laquer colors. I use acrylics, like Tamiya X7 red only with hand brush :) I try to paint cars with acrylics but for me was very painful, the lacquer paints are so "forgiving" and they dry really fast @@dvdw_graphics_crafts
@@SmallScaleFun thanks for the info! yes thats more forgiving and at same time more toxic. thats why I'm trying regular acrylic paints which work with just water. quite hard to control and to get consistent results but even safer than model acrylic paints. X')
