The only reason george jones didnt get the same is because he hid behind his guitar and him fame.some one should of did the same to him back then pound the shit out of him george killed her I'll never be convinced other wise
Cherry Chanel I agree I won't listen to today's country either, my bro likes it but he's a bigger fan of Hank Williams Jr. I like Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and last but not least Johnny Cash.
Tony Maxim Agreed, but I think it's the same these days in pretty much all of the music genres; success in RnB, Rock and, let's say, 'Pop' music used to have very high standards of musicianship, song-writing etc but are now reduced to minimums with video, production and marketing doing the heavy lifting. This is despite the fact there's never been more money in a hit record (not to say the artist gets more!) and the internet makes wide-spread distribution easier than ever. Over to you record company whingeers and rent-seekers...Classics like this appeal to folk across genre lines because the quality and class are self-evident even if the sentiments are sometimes (as in this case) a little 'dated'.
@@rozemarijn350: No it isn't you poor woke-tard. It´s simply about loving someone despite their faults, (and your own). You can´t go through history and the minds of others applying your woke-ass standards to everything.

Tammy wynette was the most amazing female singer of all time and her voice was just as amazing there was ever and her music lives on in our hearts. She was absolutely beautiful. God bless her and i know she is singing in heaven. Keep her music going on forever.
I saw her do this song in Winnipeg years ago. Sent chills down my spine. People have to take into consideration the year it came out, which was 1968. Just a few years after the feminist movement began. It was a song which reflected the times. So give her, and the song, a break. I'm female, btw.
I don't think people are upset with her. I think people are just concerned about the content of the song and taken aback by its blatant emotionally abusive tone
This song brings back memories. I was in a Bar with Earl, My husband when I started going into labour while this song started playing on the Jukebox. It was 1974 if my memory serves correctly
As a teenager in the 60’s, I didn’t care much for country music and even made fun of this look. But now I realize what a beautiful voice she had. Her pitch is perfect and unique.
I love Tammy's singing as it usually expresses what she has been through in life. This song she sang at a concert on tour as an opening song when her husband ( George Jones I think) was not showing up,,,dead drunk and unable to perform and she had to carry the show herself with her band and sing the songs to entertain the audience
“After all, he’s just a man....” For those of you upset at the message, Tammy was married five times. Three ended in divorce, one annulled, and her fifth husband survived her. She was also known for songs like D-I-V-O-R-C-E, ‘Til I Can Make It On My Own, Your Girl’s Gonna Go Bad, and I Don’t Wanna Play House. She’s not saying women should stay with their husband at all costs, she’s trying to encourage ladies to overcome their husbands shortcomings. To support him, and by doing so, they’ll see that they really do love him, rather than just give up and leave because he’s not exactly the man of her dreams. If you’re taking this song directly on it’s face, not only are you missing it, but you’re making Tammy Wynett a hypocrit.
I have a dif opinion of this song..it had roots of feminism in it no doubt! But as you said she went thru slot of men ! She is my favorite female singer bar none and this song is my fav from her! I say it has roots of fem in it but if nothing else it pokes pretty good fun at men! He's just a man ...hard to understand( that one right there def discribes women not men !lol
Is because for many people today is not normal a relationship between man a woman. And the feminism of many frustrated women see a normal marriage between man a woman like something out of date. A man thinks like a man and act like a man according with his nature. If your man is a good husband don't pretend he act like a slave or a idiot.
You are so right Leah, I am from Mississippi and I live in Seattle now and I miss the accent, it sound so nice on here when she sing. I am fascinated by accents.
I went to a funeral of a guy we called Big Jim. He was 6'4" as strong as a bull. When I started reading the program for his service I expected to see a Hymn, or a classic soul tune, but when they started singing "Stand By Your Man". After two seconds I got over "Hu?" "Ug?" It brought warmth to my heart, and I swore that would be the song I wanted people to sing at my service. Have a good day!
I was fortunate to see Tammy Wynette when did a concert tour in the UK in 1991. I saw her at "The Sheffield City Hall" and she had an amazing voice, she had a voice with a lot of power and range. Towards the end of the concert she suddenly stepped down from the stage and walked towards where the audience was sitting, she then walked along the front row and subsequent rows shaking the hands of the people in the audience which was amazing because it was totally unexpected but it was a wonderful gesture by her. Tammy was the first and only artist who i saw who interacted with an audience in this way.
Sometimes it's hard to be a woman Giving all your love to just one man You'll have bad times, and he'll have good times Doin' things that you don't understand But if you love him, you'll forgive him Even though he's hard to understand And if you love him, oh be proud of him 'Cause after all he's just a man. Stand by your man, give him two arms to cling to And something warm to come to When nights are cold and lonely. Stand by your man, and show the world you love him Keep giving all the love you can. Stand by your man. Stand by your man, and show the world you love him Keep giving all the love you can. Stand by your man.

Its like to listen Tonico e Tinoco brazilian old country. Thank you for uploading that. 'As vezes, é dificil, ser uma mulher, dando todo o seu amor para um homem só.' beautiful and very pure lyrics... Real love.
2k dislike are from women that could never sing a song like this. And people still live this song and come and listen to it again 52 years later. And with in that time many generations have feel in love with this song. For most women this song is so very true to us. Cause we are the women that stood by are men through the hard times and the good. We gave so much of are selves to that one man. I know these feminists would dislike it and women that don't know a good song if it hit them in the face. And I am sure a lot of men disliked it the most. I'm not even ashamed to say I'm native American and I love a lot of these older songs. Women today think they have it so hard and cry about it. But they cant hold a candle to the women over 30 years ago. Haters will always hate cause they are bitter mean and nasty women. And same can be said for some men as well.
Sometimes it's hard to be a woman Giving all your love to just one man You'll have bad times and he'll have good times Doing things that you don't understand But if you love him please forgive him Even though he's hard to understand And if you love him, whoa be proud of him 'Cause after all he's just a man Stand by your man Give him two arms to cling to And something warm to come to When the nights are cold and lonely Stand by your man And show the world you love him Keep giving all the love you can Stand by your man And if you love him, whoa be proud of him Cause after all he's just a man Stand by your man Give him two arms to cling to And something warm to come to When the nights are cold and lonely Stand by your man And show the world you love him Keep giving all the love you can Stand by your man Tłumaczenie: Czasami trudno jest być kobietą Dawać cała swoją miłość tylko jednemu mężczyźnie Będziesz mieć złe czasy i on będzie mieć dobre Robi rzeczy, których nie rozumiesz Ale jeśli kochasz go proszę wybaczyć mu Nawet choć trudno zrozumieć I jeśli go kochasz, bądź dumna z niego, bo w końcu to tylko mężczyzna.
Guitarist Jimmy Capps, member of the 'Grand Ole Opry' house band for more than 50 years, passed away on June 2nd, 2020 at the age of 81... Mr. Capps played on Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man”, Kenny Rogers’ “The Gambler”, George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and Conway Twitty's "The Rose"... May he R.I.P.
+frank white because if a woman did what nicki manage does back then she would get crucified. We are progressing because now we can do so much more as well as everything we have done, today.
+Jay Haytch AMEN! Though I wish there was a less religious figure of speech to express my enthusiasm, Christians are yucky!! If not for our progressing society, I could never shop Walmart as an unshaven man in a halter-top and daisydukes, struttin my stuff in red heels. For the record, I do not strictly consider my gender identity to be female, indeed, nor do I feel the need to restrict my racial identity to the white American spectrum I was bred into as my love for hip-hop and hair extensions clearly indicates that I should have been born an African American black person from Philly. Anyone who argues against these personal points of truth is a bigoted conservative baby loving Christer... God I hate babies, and god. I went to planned parenthood last week to have an abortion, but they turned me away claiming I couldn't be pregnant being not in possession of a vag and ovaries (yet)... Can you believe that, who do they think they are? Planned parenthood is getting awful conservative... *CLINTON 2016*
+frank white Yeah at least spell it right. It's Nicki Minaj. This song by Tammy Wynette is wonderful although there is not a lot of progress in it either: 'Go ahead husband, just have sex with other women, you're a man, I get it!' Yuk horrible lyrics but great song.
+JanetLeeuwerik It didn't actually say he was having fun sexually. If so, then yes, horrible lyrics. But it's a great and honorable thing to respect your husband and for HIM to love her. So many people don't understand that these days.
Suzu M If they do trample on another person's rights, they are not feminists. People tend to use labels and groups to cover their hideous personal morals. Just look at how so many people can skew a single religion by taking the teachings differently. For me, being a feminist means not being ashamed of my gender because of what I've been told is the average behavior. I used to be, and I gotta say that loving yourself feels much better. It means standing up for myself because I am human, as much as I stand for everyone's rights, no matter the gender or sexuality because humans deserve to be treated as humans. Not how much my own gender can score. dkmeller1 as for you, I thought I had already replied but clearly not. Change may not be progress but all progress is change. At the time of this video, no one would dare go outside the box. (Teen magazines literally told young girls that being a woman was their job and they couldn't escape the role of housewife. No thanks) But the fact that we are sort of at a point where anyone can be anything is amazing. Because you know what? Its their life, not yours. You don't get a say just because its not to your taste. They deserve the freedom to live as they wish. tl;dr: feminism=/=sexism, feminism=self love and equality. Peoples lives are their own, let them live. Whats it to you?
