Tangent - Ripple - Color Grading Panel - Hands-on Review 

The real benefit of a control surface is precision. You dont have the same precision with just a mouse and keyboard. You can't make does super subtle adjustments to your chroma or luminance. And secondly it speeds things up. And that having take your hands of the surface is a none issue because if you're making a more advanced grade with power windows, secondaries, tracking shapes, multiple nodes etc you will have to go between your surface and mouse and keyboard. One tip to speed this up is to use a trackball mouse with assignable buttons and assign mostly used functions to it and use quick commands on your keyboard then you will be superfast. I'm a professional colorist and I use the tangent element and davinci resolve. This ripple looks nice and affordable. The biggest benefit seems its size and portability and the price. If you care about color you won't be disappointed and if you cant afford a element then really this is the only option. Blackmagics mini surface and avids control surface is shit and still more expensive.

Love it, my first Tangent and making Post Production workflow ease and faster. MUST have for beginner and filmmaker Colorist. I film in 4KUHD for Vancouver BC event wedding, it is one tool I love to work.

I think the combination of the Ripple and the Element VS on an iPad works perfect as a budget solution for better control while grading footage for the average editor that also grades their own projects. Best of all, it is a bargain at $450 vs the cost of a Wave panel, or the Element modular system.

Can't believe that I hear you say "keep the price down" a $10.- tool that's sold for $350.-. I probably buy one since there is no alternative, but it is way too expensive.

con price 300-400 $for entry-level hardware is to much for 100 i will get one but not to 300-400
