Dunno if Tank Girl is _my_ spirit animal, but Lori Petty definitively is. I'm a fan of the original _Tank Girl_ comic too, which was co-created by British artist and musician Jamie Hewlett. Hewlett is probably more famous as part of the creative team behind the virtual band _Gorillaz_ than _Tank Girl._

For another wonderfully odd movie with Malcolm McDowell in it, I highly recommend "Suck". It's a horror/comedy/rock and roll/road trip movie about a past-their-prime never-was band whose fortunes change when one of their members gets turned into a vampire. It has an astounding array of cameos, including Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, Alex Lifeson, Moby, and probably one or two more that I've forgotten. Dave Foley from Kids in the Hall (and a bunch of other stuff) plays their sleazy manager. McDowell plays the amazingly named Eddie van Helsing, last of the vampire hunters.

Big fan of the comic and loved this movie as well as the musical score. Have it on CD and still listen to it. Though a bit different from the comic in more than a few ways, it's still amazing and love Lori Petty in the role. Looking forward to seeing your reaction as always. You're gold!!! Fun fact: The script for this movie was originally offered to Steven Spielberg to direct, but even though he loved the script, he turned it down, because he thought it would be better suited for a younger director. He was quoted as saying the script was "too hip" for him.

This is a permanent, first order, top of the list favorite of mine. How could it not be? The fabulous Lori Petty, a young Naomi Watts, Ice T in a mangaroo suit, and the ever fantastic Malcolm McDowell as the bad guy because you gotta! Bonus for appearances by Iggy Pop and Ann Magnuson. Such a great fucking movie! Edit - Also a killer soundtrack on top of everything else

Booga is played by Jeff Kober I usually see him play bad guys in a lot of movies and series I remember him in playing a great part in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager, and he was in season 4 of The Walking Dead.

The comic itself was far better, but this was the best they could manage with the Hollywood system. Definitely check out the compilation books, as there are many... and you'll be able to tell the good ones by the fact the guy who drew Gorillaz did the art. Hewlett & Martin created something wholly amazing. Great react!!

I saw this in theatres opening day and had the minority opinion of the group Lori Petty was just plain obnoxious and a lot. 90 minutes straight of her was a vibe. But, Ice T as the mutant hybrid 'Roo-man was comedy gold. 'I'm half-man, half-'roo.' There's a Naked Gun type blocked scene where Petty and Co. are talking in the foreground while the real action and focus-pull is happening in the back where we see Ice literally hopping from one end of of the frame to the other. Christ. Do not be drinking a beverage during this moment. You will be wearing said drink like a moo-moo. Detective Odafin Tutuola dressed up as like the lamest X:Men ever seen, but still talking like Ice really do like a gangsta kangaroo who literally exits a scene hopping mad. Ice gets all the flowers for doing this role and going all in. Mad respect to the Ice Man. Hon, you like Tank Girl, but actually funny and better hair.

GOD ALMIGHTY THIS MOVIE COULD'VE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!! Lori Petty is too annoying in this role, Tank is a Punk & a cool rebel, she's NOT annoying!!! I just think it could have been done so much better!!! I love Lori Petty, but this was NOT her role!!! Kevin as a MASSIVE Tank Girl fan I have to disagree with ya, everyone, including the comic fans hated this movie because of the casting brother!!! It was NOT a popular choice!!! People have been talking about a new version for years, I hope to hell they make it!!! I agree with Tara tho, great soundtrack and Naomi Watts is outstanding!!!
