I am going through this same journey in the last 8 months.. From 138 kg to 93 kg ..still 18kg more to go ..has been one of the strongest decision of my life...
First time listening to Tanmay Bhat speak all the correct things a person has to do or face for a healthy lifestyle. I 100% agree that social connections drop during this phase but it should be okay. I struggle to maintain my diet and routine during weekends because I get stressed saying no to friends when eating food outside, drinks, staying late. I then ending up hating myself and friends and blame them for breaking my mind. It's so shocking that I am now waiting for weekends to end. I only like weekdays because there is no pressure from anyone else. I hate Saturday n Sunday. I want to move away somewhere far for 1 year and be alone.
Just so y’all know, this wasnt just about a weight loss journey,it was his actual victory over his mind, and how he tricked it into following the right things with the right methods. Kudos man👏🏻👏🏻
Just to abstract it 1 level up, it's about taking responsibility and not living in ignorance. Ignorance is short term bliss but true rewards in life happen when you take responsibility seriously be it on your body or your work at office or your relationships or being a good parent being a good partner being a good citizen. The young generations I see are avoiding taking responsibility by staying single, by not having kids and just being lazy and watching reels all day and not studying or working, they all can learn something here that delaying taking responsibility is just delaying your rewards in life
This is the first time that a celebrity has honestly divulged what goes in to keeping fit step-by-step. It's like you're talking to a friend. Not like the Bollywood bros and gals who keep the information to themselves and just keep repeating the same one liner over and over again
I have commented and liked once or twice before on any youtube video. This video i felt it deserves every person's comment so that engagement increases and it reaches to more and more people who need it.
Before my baby born in 2017 I lost 27 KG in 8 months. Before weigh was 87 & after losing 60 Kg. after baby I gained weight Last year in month of May I lost 12 kg in two months. I was 75kg after losing it was 63kg, then last year in October I got Chikungunya & again gained weight 15 kg in 3-4 months. now trying to lose all that weight started my journey again it is 73 now lost 5kg already in one month. 10kg more to go, it is hard for me to lose weight, I have hypothyroidism & harmonal inbalance thats why. All the best to all those who are trying to lose weight 👍😊💫
@@Sky-yy I did intermittent fasting, no junk food, main exercise was skipping rope. Also bodyweight exercises like pushups, crunches, pull ups, squats etc.
Brilliant! What an achievement. Weight loss is simple but not easy. I’ve lost 6.5 kilos since March, no fancy meals just knowing my bmr and teaching myself how much I should be eating of my normal diet. I don’t have to take things away but actually add more to my diet.
I feel like he’s talking about me, I am going through exact same things, cant go out, no socialise, avoid restaurants and anything triggering food related and everyone goes out to eat only what else are we supposed to do…. Feel better that I am making right decision by isolating myself and prioritising my health.
I was at 100kg in April at my cousins wedding. Now I am at 76 kg and my goal is 68-70kg for my height 5.9 feet. And I don't even follow strict diet like no sugar, no pav bhaji or any other food which usually make you fat. I just avoid those food as much as I can and I really enjoy food which my mom cooks for me. I totally understand that you are psychologically at different level when you drop such fat and it really makes you life better.
Thank you everyone for watching this video. I posted this video a couple of days ago and it got over 8k views in very short time. I am new to posting videos on RU-vid. Thank you for watching this.
Mighty podcast! As I too am going through a body transformation , I can relate to each and every point here. Here is a short summary comprising of the key points that Tanmay made and I believe are 100% true (Based on my personal experience as well) - Every cliche is true , small steps matter. - Left Mumbai and went to Bangalore to get detached from social life and focus on weightloss. - You get a sense of achievement after getting fit. You start believing in yourself to achieve bigger things in life. - Loosing weight is an EVERY HOUR DECISION. Basically you are training your mind and gaining total control over your mind. - Fitness has to be the no.1 priority of your life. Block your calendar if needed. All other decisions should revolve around your fitness. - Sleep is a very important part of loosing weight. - “The work you have to do stretches over the time you give it” - 50% of all doubts are self doubts. - You will loose weight if you REALLY want to loose weight. - It has to be a lifestyle change. - Read atomic habits to understand more on this (lifestyle change , habit stacking etc) - Understand your lifestyle and sleeping pattern. Not everyone likes to workout in morning. - Find a sporting habit that aligns with your weightless journey. Badminton in his case. Tennis in mine :) - Create an environment that aligns with your goals. Use the concept of FRICTION to your benefit. Increase friction for things you don’t want. Reduce friction for activities you need. - Experiment with your food eating patterns. (Fasting) - Identify what your day and schedule is. Stack habits as per your schedule. - No matter where you go, do not break your routine. - Your social life will be affected. Be prepared for the same. Get ready to piss off a lot of your friends. - Don’t put yourself in situations where you can fuck up.
Diet control and fasting is the key to my weight loss. I was 93 kilos and after a year of working out 4 days a week I reduced to 71. I do calisthenics, some weight lifting and 10k steps per day. I feel great, happy in mood and I sleep like a baby.
You don’t need to try to hard to loose weight. I mean intermittent fasting with 4-6 hours work out a week, abstaining from sugar and high protein died with veggies and berries should do it. Your work out cannot feel like a life sacrifice if it has to be sustainable. This is coming from a person who has tried a lot of permutation and combination of healthy habits. Inspiring story Tanmay.
This video is such an eye opener! Not only in terms of weight loss, but it applies to any aspect of one's life. It's all about developing a habit in a way that aligns with what you love doing. Really interesting perspective. Atomic habit was on my list, but it's a must buy now after this, thank you! Kudos to tanmay for able to keep it up!❤
i am in this journey ..much needed this kind of motivation ...most importsnt thing he said is weight loss is like a controlling your brain ..not brain controlling you ..and every minute you have to take decision of being in healthy shape ...yes ..bcoz your mind tries to empower you so that you will eat junk ..so you have to fight it back every hour ...
So happy for you Tanmay! You can talk about it if you feel like but I feel skip talking about weight loss and continue to do your thing.. I somehow feel talking about it might take the focus away. Hugs and all the best!
Tanmay I have been following your work since AIB days. Huge fan back then huge fan now. But watching this video you have gained a lot of my respect. Keep smiling and keep working hard. Your biggest admirers ❤.
Another habit to stack could be instead of tossing social life building meaningful social life. I am sure many friends could get together with him to cultivate good habits n say watch movie at home /have cosy conversation n u can order more healthy dabba. It can create a healthy authentic ecosystem of meaningful friendships where reciprocal goals are achieved and friends create accountability to keep up with goals.
So happy to see him loosing weight.. like he revived his career after Aib and still people would make fun of his weight.. Glad he took his health seriously
The work life balance of most of the indians is too hectic they travel for sometimes hours, this video speaks privilege from him.Yes even health is privilege. He doesnt have a spouse or kids to take care of, So saying Too busy to workout is just unjust because the middle class keeps surviving and drowning at the same time on the weight of responsibilities.
This interview was so good until he talked about eating just salalds and only eating once a day..I sincerely hope people just take everything he said before he got to that part..
