I was expecting your basic twinkly snow overworld theme when I saw Tantal was a winter land. Boy I've never been so happy to be wrong.

I’ve heard a lot of ice/snow/winter overworld themes but this one is the best ever composed

60 hours into this game, on chapter 7, and I thoroughly enjoy it more than its predecessor.

Let’s all prey for this majestic theme to get to Ultimate alongside Pyra and Mythra.

This theme manages to hit in multiple ways. It evokes wonder when you first arrive then at the halfway point it evokes the tension of the situation you are in then after the boss fight it feels completely hopeless and melancholic despite the track being exactly the same at all 3 stages, I do not for the life of me understand how they composed something so goddamn cool.

This is, by far, the BEST snow theme of the Xenoblade series!

Now that I've seen the entire Xenoblade saga for myself I can confidently proclaim Xenoblade 2 to be the greatest soundtrack in the series, but ESPECIALLY the overworld themes my GOD Xenoblade 3 had some nice ones, and XC1 still some all-time classics, but they can't hold a candle to the sheer weight XC2's themes give to their respective locations

Pretty awesome seeing a lot of locations from here return in the Cent-Omnia Region

This track is unbelievable. The more I play of this game years later, hearing these songs again, I realize how incredible this game is. It looks, plays, and sounds better than switch games coming out now and due out next year.

The theme of running around the lower level while trying to stay out of range of the numerous overleveled enemies

XC2 isn't my favorite JRPG ever (XCX easily has my preference) but holy F the OST is absolute god-tier, worth playing through just for the music alone

Pure adrenaline while you run through a gauntlet of pillars filled to the brim with more and more powerful enemies as you progress towards the Omega Fetter. Really fits the mood of a race against time to stop a sinking continent.

You can really hear the struggle of the people in this harsh land through the chants and tone of the instruments. The most unique snow theme I've ever heard.

I was on a trip in the Philippines when I got to Tantal. I remember my nephews and cousins were watching me trying to find my way below those ruins. One cousin even gave me a good laugh with her reaction to Pyra's outfit, she was like "wtf is she wearing, isn't she cold???"

Man this song has been stuck in my head all day, i knew it was from xc2 but forgot the name of the area since i haven’t played it in a couple years. Then i thought, snowy area… Tantal! that’s it! Such a good track, one of my favorites from the game for sure. Underrated af.

I don’t think this qualifies as spoilers for XC3 since the trailer shows the stuff I’m gonna talk about. Tantal has the same chorus as Everblight plain in XC3? Coincidence? Maybe. But Uraya had the same chorus motif, so MAYBE Tantal is in XC3, just never explicitly mentioned. The area does have some stupid bridge placements… something Tantal did a lot of. Food for thought.

I saw someone mention this track as one of the best in the franchise on a XC3 soundtrack vid and got curious. Yea, yea its a fair contender alright.

Such an underrated theme from this amazing game

The promo shots of Tantal were what got me hyped for XC2, because a) the ruins' architecture was incredible and vast and b) I was fresh off the heels getting gobsmacked by Valak Mountain at night. Needless to say, this track cemented my expectations.

A snow area theme did *not* need to go this hard, but fucking hell am I thankful it did. It has a fucking *drop*

I love Tantal day and night so much and can't tell which one I love more. The two songs as well as Counterattack are just my favourite songs from the basegame and just embody the experience for me. It makes you feel like you're in a barren winter wonderland, with day making you feel like you're drowning in a cascade of snow trying to make it through without freezing to death, while the night theme makes you feel like a tranquil, chilly night with a slight looming uneasiness in the background to remind you this winter wonderland isn't all beauty and elegance. As you can probably see, I like the music in this game way too much.

Just finished this area in xc2, reminds me of triangle strategy and fe3h battle themes. Wow this soundtrack is amazing

When I play games that haves Ice related stuff, I kind of expected it to be challenging. One example is the Zelda series, mainly because of the Ice enemies (I can't handle how annoying they can be). And while the one in this game is challenging as well (at least how I remember when I saw my brother playing it), the music here is possibly one of the best I ever heard related to a snow/winter land.

Finally found it! I had this song going through my head and I figured it must’ve been something I played very recently. Tried going back through what I’d played and nothing seemed to fit. It wasn’t FF14, because I’ve been on a break from that for the past several months. Was it the fifth layer from the Made in Abyss game? No, that’s not it. Maybe Figahl from Tales of Berseria? Similar, but still not it. Here it is! Something that I’ve actually not played recently at all! At least I was on the right trail with cold and snowy zones!
