No worries Andrew. I was definitely kept busy all day losing or catching fish 😂 iv never seen so many small fish in there thats forsure. Good for future stocks at least 🤞
Hey mate. Any chance next video you make you can describe how you use your sound etc. Love the vids man. I’ve just got my self a lowrance elite9 chirp sounder n no idea where the fish are etc when I see them on the sounder. Like what direction to throw etc. My transducer is on the back off my tinny just can’t get anything to hook.
Hey mate, i know what u mean about where to cast after u see them on the screen. Its easy if side imaging is on as it shows how far from the boat they are an which side. As for what direction i usually throw in whatever direction the current is going under the assumption the fish is going with the tide. Harder in the lake as theres not much current but i still do the same. An il try an do a video with some sounder stuff on it in the river 👍
@@Lowysfishing yeah unfortunately mine doesn’t have sidescan as it’s one off the older sounders. I fish Brisbane waters n find lots of action just know idea on where they r etc. thanks lowys appreciate it. Even just the basic run down would be awesome. All the other yt videos r to complicated n long lol
Hello Andrew. Like stated before another great video. I'm looking at going to Sydney this weekend and the wife is off doing her thing and I'm left doing nothing. So I was thinking maybe heading your way. Is there an area you would suggest for the dews as I know nothing of the lake.
Hey Reg , i usually fishing west of pulbah island in that deeper water. 20-30 ft range i just look around for some baitfish in amongst the cockle beds an go from there.
@Lowysfishing thxs so much again for your help and time. I usually fish the south coast at Tuross heads and have never been your way. It would be nice to try somewhere new. And I fish alone most of the time so a new area would a nice change.
Cracking vids mate - very informative 👌 Was planning to target the river this weekend hoping to finally find success. Reckon the fresh will affect the river in a bad way?
Hey Kel, glad u like the videos 😊 an after some rain it can either b awesome or crap unfortunately 😂 im not sure how much the water has changed or if theres much debris in the river either. Iv had some great fishing in the hunter after the rain stirs it up so theres definitely hope u could have a great days fishing 🤞
Epic video as usual mate. Have you worked out the tide delay that far up the river? Do you find they chew better on the slack or either side of the change? Cheers !
Appreciate it Cameron 👍 i look at terrace bridge an hexam bridge tides an halve it an thats pretty close i recon. I haven't fished there enough to have the best tide yet an so far results have come at both times. Slack tide, the run in an the run out. If i could pick a tide id feel most confident it would b the last of the run out an start of the run in. Hopefully that helps mate.
Cheers mate helps a lot. Haven’t got that far up the river yet so will give me a starting point. How do you go fishing the flow as far as jig head weights or any other tips to keep your lure down.
@@cameronburt9146 that parts a work in progress at the moment. I lost alot of fish due to the line getting pulled every which way by the under current. At least a 5/8 oz when its running but i had 3/4 oz on aswell an it was pretty good. The tide was a 1.9mtr but so stacks of flow. Id evn go to 1/2 oz if it had less flow. Drifting the rockwall was very successful an i had a 5/8oz then an it was working nice in the end.
Yer fair enough mate. I have found the same as you with the jig head weights. Can only get the 1/2 down closer to the turn of the tide. I will have to give your drift method a shot, it looked to keep the lures in the zone pretty well.
@@cameronburt9146 it was by far the best hookup ratio when i drifted. Just alot more contact with the lure even with the fish swimming straight at me after eating the lures.
That first hour`s fishing was like a lesson in catch and release [ ha ha without the catch and the swearing ] I know you love your T Transams but do you think Fishtraps would do the job too ? Thanks for the great informative vids
Yer Ray i cut the swearing out 😂😂 but the first hour was just horrible. Not even sure what went wrong but come good in the end. Id say fish traps will work mate alot of people use them. An i try to throw in some tips when i remember too, still getting use to talking to the camera while fishing.
Hey Andrew, just a quiet day catching 500 jewfish😂At least the boat traffic is minimal compared to Lake Mac. I have never fished that river, but it looks like the current can scream
Definitely Pete the tide can be annoying an that was a 1.9mtr aswell so there was alot of flow. Way less boats there it was a nice change from the lake at least. Plenty of jew but so wasnt too bad just lacking a really big fish.
Even with the bad start to the day Lowys least you caught fish, Ended up being a pretty good day. I only got a couple of bites yesterday (small tailor) north arm of the river. Sounder decided not to work which didn't help. Where do you launch from ? Cheers
Hey Stevo, yer was a shocker start thats forsure. Only way was up from there at least. I put in at raymond terrace near the bridge. The sounder not working for u makes it hard, cant even see how deep it is or if theres any fish around 😩
@@Lowysfishing Sounder worked last time, I'll work it out, won't be much Ya that far up the river, couldn't work out where you were the last couple of times. Wouldn't Tomago be closer
Thanks Reg. It felt like id run over a black cat there at the start of the day. Everything just went wrong 😩 but i kept going though an in the end wasnt a bad day at all. An iv done alot of fishing in that river so that always helps.
