Damn man, that's deep. I've wanted to play tarkov for years now and I finally got the chance to this wipe. At first I ignored the complaints about this wipe being the worst yet, I was having a lot of fun in the honeymoon phase but once I got settled in (around the time THE wiggle video came out), I couldn't ignore all the glaring issues anymore. and worst yet, I realized that even without technical issues or cheaters, the core mechanics and gameplay loop in the current wipe just isn't something I'm able to agree with. So long story short, after countless games ending up as major disappointments, I think I'll be the one leaving the game behind rather than vise versa.

But it's also true tho. Right before watching this video, I watched the latest POGcast, and beside Veritas bugs, Jesse was saying he had an ok to good time this week, and that he really enjoyed Streets, which reminded me of how much I enjoyed Streets for the same reasons he mentioned. And I came out of the POGcast thinking, you know maybe it's time to reinstall, get back into learning Tarkov...but then I watched this video, and I took of those rose glasses...

​@@Foss3 naw. Game's been in development for 11 years and I started testing it in what? 2017?. Most of this is legacy issues. Things that have been reported on forums for years and pruned in a few days because it's 200th post about it. Being a beta isn't an excuse anymore and it arguably should be released on steam by now. Where's my steam key at? Yeah no. Nikita is full of dog water.

@@Foss3this would make sense except for the fact that BSG literally makes it as difficult as possible to report bugs. “Beta test our game to tell us the issues, but you can only tell us one issue at a time by taking note of exactly what happened, closing the game, then making the report, and you can only do this sometimes. Also do it more, because we don’t get enough.” I usually try to be understanding of BSG and how hard it is to make a game. However, this is just silly.

@@Foss3 bro they still have fixed the audio bugs and it’s been years. The issue is not that they don’t get reports, or that people just don’t want to report bugs for a game in “beta”. The issue is BSG is making excuses and blaming the player base for not doing what they should. They should have never pushed so hard to put out lighthouse and streets. They should have diverted all of those man hours and energy to fix the damn game before they added more shit, and incidentally, more problems. Fix the bugs and I’d probably still be playing the game. If BSG took some god damn responsibility and didn’t blame the player base for “not reporting bugs”, they’d probably be fixed already and BSG wouldn’t be in this predicament. If they were more proactive about managing cheaters instead of banning a couple thousand accounts and allowing 75% of them to buy a bundle of new game keys for a discounted price, we probably wouldn’t be here. At the end of the day, NOBODY is to blame for the outcome of EFT but BSG, and by projecting their failures onto the player base they are effectively killing their game. You can shoulder that responsibility and blame everyone else that refuses to do that with you, but you aren’t special because of it. I didn’t pay $140 to excuse their inaction and be blamed for not “allowing” them fix their “beta” game after 11 years of its development lol

if he stops caring about this game, he will care about something else. And he pointed out the results of his "caring" in this video - a detailed video with issues a year ago, and instead of fixing - things got worse

@@dorkovic his educational videos looked more like research years ago. The guy was passionate about the things he was doing. And what do we have now? Mostly frustration mixed with toxicity. I'm not saying there's no reason for such behavior, and understand him completely: if beta testing goes for 7 years and things mostly become worse and worse - something really sick is going on. But asking him to stay in such a state - is a selfish thing to do

@@juliangds Fast as in it got big in less than a year, there was a massive player-base increase from 2019 to 2020 not ever seen before, not even imagined. Since 2020 it has steadily gotten bigger.

Because you'll be flagged as a spammer if you rant about poor game design, balance, net code, or game breaking bugs because "wHaT dO yOu eXpEct? iT's sTiLl in bEtA" and because BSG worries more about adding new, exciting content rather working on the boring quality of life improvements. I can only imagine it's going to get worse when they split their attention away w/ tarkov arena

I was walking through the second floor corridor of west wing on shoreline and got popped in the head by rock passage sniper. I never aggroed him or even saw him. He had a split second of time to do it as i passed in front of the door and he fucking did it. Fucking bullshit.

The tracking it's always been a thing, there was a time in og tarkov where if you aimed at a scav even if they weren't looking at you, they would turn around and shot you. Since tracking players through walls it's inside their IA i don't think that's actually fixable and i disagree on "reaction time it's irrelevant" since when you peek a raider, they'll talk to you then shoot you (faster than a normal ia does) and if you repeek the same angle (assuming you didn't just peek a raider then stand still) then they'll destroy you. I think the fact that they're able to see players through the wall has something to do with their behaviour about holding the angle you just showed yourself and being more acurrate when showing yourself on the same angle. Pd: I don't know if "hearing" it's in their IA, if it actually were it would make more sense for them to at least "look" at the direction you're coming if you're too noisy.

@@tobiasruibal9429 the last raider I encounter was just walking then turned and fired WHILE TALKING. There was no warning. I was a fucking scav to boot.

@@Mitcheeee I am in awe that it is still in the game... It is incredibly immersion breaking. I'll be immersed and feeling every sound and every distant gunshot, scanning every angle, scared for my life! Then a *click* happens I have heard a million times before, and BAM! Snapped straight out of immersion and hit with the fact that this game was scrapped together by a bunch of minimally experienced Russian entrepreneurs...

I’ve been playing this whole wipe and so far I’ve encountered maybe 2 cheaters that were for sure cheating. And only 1 invisible player that was only invisible for 3 of our 4 stack. So he still got killed. I’d say go back it’s probably in its best state in a long time. As for the cheaters in videos like this I feel like they are hunting streamers mostly because to them it’s funny. Streamers give a reaction you can actively see if you’re also watching

The ComTac2 is broken ever since. Like hearing ghoststeps few wipes ago or the clicking sound of a key beeing used.

There is a stupid doorbell or something in the heavy Rain audio. Once you heard it you can't unheard it and get extra mad when the heavy rain starts because every 15 seconds or so you hear a distant ringing..

There's not going to be a competitor in this genre imo. Memes aside, Tarkov literally has too much dev time behind it. As much as there is broken, they've iterated on and fixed a lot of stuff other indie studios just wouldn't have the resources to. If CoD can't do it, I don't think anyone's going to, because most AAA studios are risk averse and a "safe" tarkov doesn't exist. It'd have to be an indie dev to take the amount of time and risks required, and most of them aren't going to garner the player base to gain the resources required to invest the time to compete 1 to 1. It's why the cycle and marauders didn't. Dark and Darker is the closest, but it's still obviously a very different game. Doc's game might've had a chance if he just made a game without the NFT stuff, but he probably only got the funding due to the inclusion of the NFT stuff.

I've started playing Marauders and I'm really enjoying it. It's more "arcadey" in the sense that you just grab and gun some armour and enter the raid. There's no hunger, thirst, etc that persists between rounds and you don't need to spend 100 hours customizing every little element of your gun just to die 5 minutes later. Gunplay is great and it's the same survival looter experience as Tarkov. It's Tarkov with all the annoying bits stripped out is how I think of it

@@BallstinkBaron Okay so I looked into it and apparently there are some bug/issues with fragmentation because a lot of bullets in the game don't pen enough to fragment, ergo why HP doesn't do more raw damage on unarmored targets. So that would probably lead a lot of people like myself to think that it's not fragmentation. Apparently it only really works on limbs right now too so that's another issue. I guess the real answer is that it's different every time? But nonetheless, less likely overall given the fact that the basic ammo types really don't pen at all.

So it's either its the end screen having bugs, fragmentation bugging (unlikely to happen from a single shot unless there is a pen from arm -> thorax -> fragmentation), or ballistics bugging. Wish the mechanics of the game were more exposed so we could debug better for bsg lol

While true, them trying to shame ME for not reporting the invisibility bug - the thing nearly the entire player base was complaining about every day for months, while I was in the process of trying to report another serious issue. It's obvious they were upset about my video that said the game was broken in the thumbnail.

How much cache memory does your office computer's workstation cpu have? EFT is cpu memory speed bottlenecked if you've got a gpu thats even relatively modern.

My build from 2018(except for a 3080) doesn’t have nearly any of these issues. While I know this is frustrating, my friends have had similar issues and it’s just boiled down to either their internet or hardware. Not saying BSG doesn’t need to fix things. Just saying my friends and I haven’t been experiencing these issues regularly or much at all.

They added time gates on quests bro like that's what finally broke me for some reason like I had all these issues mounting up and then I got time gated on another quest and that sent me over the edge like never before.

try increasing your page file, fixed size, not less than 16 gb, i have 32gigs of ram, and i thought page file wasn't important in my case, all other games can run even without it, Tarkov stopped giving me BSOD's after i set my page file to 16 gigs

Yep same. With the audio issues, god scavs, invis players, etc it makes it so much harder to actually learn and improve at the game

They're already getting more reports than they can handle. They gonna die of heartattack if people actually start reporting bugs.

A little more positivity and a lot less complaining about a bugs existing in a beta game would go a long way (and not getting pissy about being told to report bugs).

you mean the bugs that have been going on for months to years? In that time, they have recieved COUNTLESS reports of those bugs? Oh, lets not forget you can only report one bug a day. So if you experience more than one bug a day, youre fucked out of reporting them for 24 hours. This game is absolutely riddled with bugs and glitches that shouldnt have even made it past alpha and internal playtesting. Endnight games had in game bug reporting with the forest and they didnt fuckin limit your reports. Why did they do such a thing? Because they actually gave a fuck about their game because it was their passion. Given the state of eft, it shows that either bsg does not care, doesnt know how to fix the bugs, too arragont to hire someone who CAN fix the bugs. I can fuckin guarantee that there are members of the community that can and would fix all that they could. (Not an instantaneous fix, but it would at least get fixed) This whole "complaining about bugs in a beta" (which has been in beta for roughly 5 to 7 years, ya know, the time it takes to actually develop a full fucking title release if your passionate about making a serious game) is beyond fuckin absurd. Why? Because while yes, there are bugs in betas, the bugs dont occur anywhere remotely as often. Hell there are bugs in full release triple A titles. They are present, but they usually get patched out relatively quick. A lot quicker than a month or longer after they start occuring. (Unless its one severe bug)
