The record with the two trains passing, with some strange sounds ( some sounds like an electric guitar) are really splendid. I listened three times. Ofcourse, in my mind there were some echo's of David Bowie his "station to station" track😊

Thanks Elon_Ac! I am using the Tascam Dr100 mk3 internal microphones and clippy microphones

Great video! Love it. Quick question. How did you rig up those mics on magnets? Is that something you purchased?

Cheers Jack! The mics are little DIY Clippy Mics. I had some of the LOM Usi Pro magnet mounts laying around and I just used some pro gaf tape to secure them in place. It's a bit bodge but really convenient

Very cool recordings dude, especially the train stuff. It would be interesting to hear a "wider" perspective, ie. moving the mics further away from each other to increase the soundstage as it feels slightly narrow. But very cool regardless

Cheers for watching Jean! I recently recorded with my Lom Usi pair on a tripod. That video is in the works and I think the recordings will have a wider soundstage. I'll bear that in mind though with the Clippy mics for future recordings. Could be a fun video to test different widths

@@rarefindssound Does it really make any difference when you're talking about 30cm apart or 60cm apart ? Surely for trains and stuff it makes zero difference.

@@cryptotrader2779 for omni microphones it is recommended that you start at 50cm apart for good separation. And the difference would purely be in the stereo width of the train passing. Currently the R to L info is slightly “close in”. That is what experimentation is there for.

@@jean-pierredupreez4413 Good to know. I only have OMNI mics and until now I've been using the Rode stereo bar which is pretty short.
