Will be ordering tonight! I’m in Inglewood 15 minutes from there, am a African American with a Nigerian name (Amaechina), and I’m vegan. I love Nigerian food. I’ve made moi moi, akara (from scratch) and fufu. So looking forward to trying every vegan dish on their menu.
which fufu is the best to get? Out of the pounded yam fufu, corn farina fufu, or the eba cassava fufu? I cannot tell which kind of Fufu Marie is eating with her stew in this video but would like to try it.
Maybe you can ask your local African restaurant if they have any vegan options and if not to think about making some for ppl looking for it... I'm sure they'll think about it to get more customers... I try to do that with places I used to go to and say I'd come back but I don't eat like I used to but if you have something for me I'll come and bring friends with me as well
You guys did an excellent job of reviewing Nigerian and African cuisine and the plant based options. First time seeing you both, as a couple you're on fire🔥💯.
I’m tellin y’all bake that Jollof rice in the oven-- it come out right - coat the rice w sauce then add hot water to just cover the top of rice in baking pan Cover with parchment then foil too then bake 350 18mins , flip rice around- bake 15-20 more mins then let sit 10-15mins still wrapped - the steam will keep cooking to fluffy fye’ness.
Continental born here and impressed you make jollof. I was taught how to make it in childhood and still struggle sometimes with it in my 30s. For me, the stews are easier to make than jollof rice and not a big rice fan but prefer the boiled green plantain with stew or soup and a little meat like fish or chicken. I don’t work out at all but the weight falls off with boiled plantains for dinner.
I luvvvv me some African food! When I traveled to West Africa, I substituted attieke for fufu. OMG... next level and I didn't get quite as full. Take it easy❤❤❤❤
A new viewer here! Did you try baking the jollof rice after cooking it in the stew? Usually that gets a better consistency. I can't stand egusi, but glad you both enjoyed it.
I could've sworn if you dug deeper madam would defo find her ancestors to have come from the yoruba tribe in Nigeria..she looks like someone who would bear "oluwakemi" or "kemi" for shorts which means "God pamper me"
We would have but it was kinda far and we wanted to try it fresh and hot but will try more from them they had some much more to try and will bring it home 😁
