Happy Friday! 💕 We kept this taste test less edited so it's more of a mukbang, but I've included timestamps in the info box in case you want to skip to any particular products. And if you have a few minutes to spare, we just released a new acoustic cover on our music channel and we'd be so grateful if you gave it a listen! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4FT_Q1Vs3FQ.html
I really liked the lack of long intro, and lack of background music. It makes it easier to focus on the video, especially with an overactive brain. Thank you!!
Do I have a Trader Joe’s near me? No. Will I watch anything you guys upload? Yes. Also- Sarah you look so beautiful in this video. 🥰 So lovely seeing you making videos again!
Is Sarah's channel anybody else's "Happy Place"? Honestly, I always come here when I am feeling a bit low, cause you guys just radiate genuinely good vibes, even if you say you are going through a bit of a rough patch yourselves. Thanks for this ♡
Sarah, this is one of your best videos! They are all good, but this one was very enjoyable. I like that you don't throw your hair from side to side or wave your arms around like a crazy person! And I love that you don't say the word "GUYS" 22 times in a 16 minute video, like some other youtubers do. You're very soft spoken and down to earth, and that's a wonderful quality to have! And you truly do have a beautiful voice! I knew you sang but I had no idea just how lovely your voice is. The two of you singing together is just so pretty!🦋 I truly wish you and Eric much success in life and in all of your endeavors!☺️
For the grecian style eggplant, as a greek I used to eat it with just a big ass chunk of feta on the side and lots of bread. I think this is a pretty traditional way to eat dishes like that.
I didn't like the TJ queso cheese sauce either. The mac & cheese is awesome. I'm laughing because every single product Eric suggested you give to your kid, I've given to my kid.
For the canned fried eggplant, you can eat it with pita bread or any bread really. It's basically like Zaalouk which a Moroccan dip made of grilled eggplants (you can use fried eggplants too but the grilled eggplant adds a smoky flavour to the dip), tomatoes, garlic and spices. :)
My favorite TJ food is their vegan chocolate chip cookies. I have to limit the number of bags I buy because everyone in my house will get some kind of illness from eating too many.
I am soooo glad you mentioned rarely frying cuz sameeee. I love buying the kung pao cauliflower, ditching the sauce and tossing the cauliflower in buffalo sauce. Soooo good.
It must be a taste thing! I tried it (I’m vegan) because I’d heard so many good things about it, but I had the same reaction as Sarah and Eric. Never bought it again 🤷🏻♀️
I adore the Trader Joe's Vegan Tikka Masala. We don't have a Trader Joe's near by and I used to buy like 10 of these at a time any time I got a chance to go.
French onion dip is bomb!! I make a vegan corned beef sandwich and put that in the sandwich, its sooo goood!!!! Defiantly recommend! Try the unreal deli corned beef ❤️
Just found your channel maybe a week or two ago. It's my first comment lol :) So I love your videos, obviously, I have to comment. Your voice is very relaxing to me, Im finding myself having videos playing even without watching, just to hear. I love your relationship. Your s/o seems very chipper and he adds alot of spark to your channel. I love how thorough he describes things. Great job editing, being consistent, showing yummy food, and being an honest person! The idea of vegetarian has always appealed to me. Going vegan would be a huge challenge for my family. Would love to attempt for a couple months to try it though! Hope you have a great day!
I totally agree about the Plant Folk creamer! It was way too thin. The Trader Joe's soy creamer used to be my favorite too until it was discontinued. On my quest to find a good replacement, I came across Silk Ultra Protein Unsweetened. It's as thick as the Silk Half and Half but is cheaper and easier to find (at least in my area). Have you tried it?
I looooove the vegan tikka masala! It's weird but I get a definite spaghettio/chef boyardee vibe from the sauce (and it's pleasantly nostalgic). This is definitely an upgrade from that, but still with that undeniable underlying flavor profile. 🤣 Also if you break up the "meatballs" into smaller pieces, the texture isn't as noticeable and is much better. This is my first video of yours that I'm watching and I love the vibe! 🤗 PS - I am also super picky about my coffee creamers. I like sweetened ones, almond based are the best. Starbucks non-dairy caramel macchiato is awesome! Also love Silk almond-based creamers, like the caramel or creme brulee flavors.
So glad you guys are back! I love this format of videos from you two and the what I eat in a day videos! Your relationship & on camera chemistry is always so refreshing!
Love these! Just recently moved to somewhere that has TJs and I love it. My favorite items so far are the vegan mandarin chicken and vegetable fried rice (frozen). So good and easy!
that's so awesome! i really missed living near one. uggh the mandarin morsels are definitely one of our faves -- we probably have them like once a week with rice and broccoli as our lazy dinner. i've gotta try the fried rice!
To be fair, I think the tempura cauliflower was made delicious bc you air fried it. I baked it in an oven bc I do not have a holy air fryer and... meh, wouldn’t buy again. However! The sauce is delicious and I would buy more of just that to add to stir fries etc!!!
Okay! The fiesta dip put it as your bass on homemade pizza with impossible crumble!!! I swear it’s delicious!! Also have you guys tried the vegan orange chicken in the frozen section at tj?
I bought the cheese sauce a while back and loved it. Then I bought it last week and was like wtf? It's not half as good as I remembered! Very weird. Tastes bland to me.
I like their cheese dip. I eat it cold with their beet crackers. I’ve never seen the simple truth cheese dip at Kroger stores. I’ll have to look around for that!
I love love love the vegan tikka masala. I could eat it two or three times a week. My only problem is acquiring too many plastic dishes that I have to recycle. I will try some other items that you tested that I wasn’t aware of. Thanks for sharing.
Crazy, I have like 3 tubs of the Fiesta dip in the fridge now, I'm addicted to it! So good, and yes, I heat it up. I tried the Vegan mac & cheese, but could NOT get past the cayenne pepper in it - who puts cayenne pepper in mac & cheese?! Not everyone likes spicy stuff, especially in comfort food. And when I was in TJ last week, they had the "blue & white" creamer there, I agree, Sarah, so good! I just got a package of the lentil bol to try, good to know it was good!
Since you mentioned cilantro-jalapeno hummus years ago and I couldn't get it here in Germany, I made ist myself and it is ONE of my favourites. Thanks for that.
I really love their almond milk based yogurt. I find the cashew one too thick and it has a weird after taste. I miss The frozen churros, they don't seem to sell them in Cali but they had them all the time when I lived in Utah. I've never seen that half and half before. Their cashew cheese dip is a bit too sweet but mix it with a really good salsa and heat it up and it's delish with chips.
Whole Foods has an oat canned whip cream. The directions on the Reddi Whip cream says to heat the van under warm water and squirt it completely upside down
Enjoy the ying yang of your personalities. Eric always has something interesting and entertaining to say and Sarah reels him back with her soothing voice and mellow energy. Can't wait for more videos.
Hi - I enjoyed your video and just have to say Sarah that you have such a beautiful voice. Thanks for sharing the yummy taste test from TJ’s. I really want to try the jackfruit meal now. 💕
The cashew fiesta dip is great but to make it great, I had to warm it, add nooch and garlic as well as thin it out with a little non dairy milk. Otherwise, it’s just ok for me. Xo Davita
Don't heat the fried eggplant please don't. (I'm from Turkey, fried eggplants is our jam). Eat it with sourdough. We typically would have (Greek) yogurt with it. I highly recommend it if you can find a vegan version.
I loved the Tikka Masala sauce but hated the seitan also. They should have used something like Gardein chick'n strips and it would have been amazing. Because of the seitan I won't buy it.
Two thoughts: 1. I’ve tried the non-vegan caramelized onion dip and the vegan one is way better! I like the tang though 2. You can buy the vegan bolognese sauce in a jar and make it with regular pasta 😋
Can someone please explain to me if they actual like Daiya products or they were the first on the game so it's a go to product. Literally we will not waste our money on daiya products in this house anymore. Every single one has been off, with that playdoh like taste. Do you all actually like daiya? I've been vegan for 2 1/2 years so I understand these products are not supposed to be identical to dairy products but they are not even close for me.
I think the canned eggplant is a condiment. Like a relish or salsa. I could see people (not vegans) putting it on top of fish or chicken. It could go on a sandwich or make bruschetta like Sarah said.
Great tip for the jackfruit. I don’t like it in anything I have made because of the brine flavor. I usually wash it a lot but will be boiling it next time.
I bought the cashew fiesta dip one time and I tried it and I hated it lol I’d much rather make my own or if I’m in target I’ll buy the one they have there.
