The Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Maruti Vitara Brezza are very popular compact SUVs and all of them come with an automatic option now. The Nexon comes with a 6-speed AMT with both petrol and diesel engines while the Vitara Brezza gets a 5-speed AMT with its diesel engine and it doesn't even get a petrol variant. On the other hand, the Ford EcoSport gets a 6-speed torque convertor unit with the 1.5-litre petrol engine. Which one of these is the best? Time to find out.

I had driven nexon diesel AMT, and brezza AMT .. I must say nexon is way better.. In terms of power,handling ,ride quality, Harman sound, body strength..I have the same opinion of autocar ,whom reviewed nexon AMT.. Brezza is just a swift with different dress code

Anand Denesh haha..maruthi lover please ride nexon and brezza simultaneously and feel the difference.. I should say brezza was better but now nexon.. You must go and check your eyes if you feel the nexon as bolt..or if you confirm with that eyes that all maruthis are tin cans..then no problem!!

Ford should pair the 1.5 TDCi with a 6 speed torque converter automatic All that said the ecosport petrol auto is far far far far superior car when compared to shit head knob AMTs , but sadly Indians way too biased to Maruti

Ponygt 662 my opinion is that it will have a problem with turbo lag. Dct gearbox will work but dct is not very reliable for long term usage.

Ponygt 662 bro actually people are left with little choice. To choose a maruti becomes a default choice for many. In our case we have both ecosport and brezza in the family. And Tata in the extended family. Nearest ford dealership/service is 100km far. Tata is not near either. And maruti at every 20 30 km. So brezza became out default choice. Ecosport was to be used in the cities with close by ford service so it made sense there. So I guess this service part plays a very crucial part in a maruti purchase. Just my two cents. Cheers.👍

A TC AT can be tuned to any requirement, and can mask turbo lag better than even dual clutch ATs because of belt drive setup and because there are clutch packs unlike CVTs , so it can mask turbo lag easily

Noel Padgaonkar Can anyone with a brain and a rational thought process agree that Suzuki Brezza is a better vehicle than EcoSport Petrol CVT or Nexon Diesel AMT? It's like : Dude, It's my Review, My View, Whatever I say, take it or leave it, Brezza wins to Brezza wins, no logic, shut-up and bzzzz off. Can you not see how he said Brezza's initial slowness is now covered by AMT - Really??? Brezza has nice interiors - Oh Yeah??? Brezza engine performs better despite being 1.3 - only on papers - Bullshit.

Very very GOOD REVIEW MotorBeam. I want to buy Petrol Automatic through CSD in Sep. 2018 among Ecosport Titanium+, Creta SX or Hyundai SXO. I am using Santro since last 18 years. My use is mostly for city & occasionally on highways. 1000km per month. Space and cost not a issue. Need good ride, safety as feature loaded. Please suggest best among above 3 Petrol Automatic to help choosing. Thanks a lot....!!!

Hard to say it reviews are hopeless. As maruti is worst competitor for both of two . And regarding built quality of brezza it's not up to mark comparing two of them. Plz share only your honest reviews, are being offered from maritime. No hard or rash feelings. Thanks for your video.

Brezza Beats both of them in terms of performance , mileage , rear seat space,service , design(subjective) and unbeatable resale value....it surely lacks in built quality and interior design and quality ...but all over it's better value for money for any Indian customer .. that's why it is the king of the compact SUV segment without any doubt..

Again, Why do you mentione the reliability of Suzuki and forget to mention the safety of the Tata. You are saying that the same AMT provided by Magnetti Mareli has overcome the initial slowness of the Brezza and is not performing at all in the Nexon. Unbelievable. s DC7 .since tata nexon is the newly launched vehicle in the segment we should wait for sometime to check out the durability of engine and other things.it may take 2 yrs or more to get a clear picture about tata nexon.engines of Ford and fiat are proven engines.wait and see.

U missed ford myKey , Brilliant Ford ESC system, tiptronic transmission (developed by Porsche) , and 100s of other safety and comfort features like twin linked steering wheel etc. in EcoSport...... yes Nexon is a great car but Atmosphere at tata showroom in sales department (God knows what will happen in After sales) discouraged me greatly, and EcoSport's class is unmatched...Booked Ecosport Titanium plus Automatic..going to have it soon..And Brezza is simply outdated now..

Plus.. EcoSport is next best thing to an SUV ..due to its Advanced Traction Control system which provides maximum traction in slippery conditions...which is a big plus for offroading... And makes EcoSport worthy of title "SUV"

Cartoons Buddy Buddy Ford is having one of best after sales support.. in past 6 months they have invested a lot in improvements, all employees are undergoing extensive training to be better in providing customer satisfaction.. Post April Titanium + models come with smaller 16 inch wheels and tpms being removed. Recently got the auto ecosport and I loathe Ford for doing that. Plus according to Ford , the automatic comes only in titanium + , not the signature which is weirdly placed under the titanium + -_-

Hi, How nexon diesel AMT perform in highway in compare with Brezza in triple digit speed? test drive video is mentioned with that nexon is good for city and not the best for HW. What is the need of cruise control in manual but cruise control is more efficient (if it is the right word) in AMT I don't understand in manual you have to shift and press the clutch. Tell me if I am wrong so I can correct myself

Funny! First time a review team says Breeza is better than Nexon and EcoSport. My colleague who is having Toyota and Maruti in his garage booked Nexon AMT after test driving all the three. Kerala is biased to Maruti than any other state in India. None of my friends purchased a Tata product in past 5yrs. Now we have 4 Nexon, couple of Tiago and a Hexa. So who is the game changer now? 😙😀

I beg to disagree with respect to diesel amt gearboxes in Nexon and Brezza. Test drove both the vehicles, head nod was very profound in the Brezza where the gear shifts were really jerky and a big turn off as compared to the Nexon. I felt the Nexon Diesel was quite a peppy one with less jerks being felt when you pushed the gas hard in comparison to the Brezza. I believe its hard to beat the Tata Nexon Diesel Amt especially with the kind of features, built and ride quality it gets in the given Price!

What baffles me with this review is that when nexon amt was launched almost all reviews called diesel amt of nexon to be best by far comparing it with true automatic. Here this one is calling diesel amt of nexon pretty average. Don't know what to believe.

Tata Nexon XMA is priced Rs. 790000, Tata Nexon XZA+ is Rs. 978000. Ford Ecosport Trend + is Rs. 977000. XMA does not have ESC, TCS, HLA, Rear Camera, Touchscreen, tweeters, and it has thinner tyres (less ride quality) unlike XZA+ or Trend +. So you really have to compare XZA+ with Trend + which have all the same features. Guess what? Trend + is Rs. 1000 less than XZA+. So where is the value for money in Nexon? Please be a bit more detailed when you review so as not to mislead. Thanks and by the way, nice presentation.

Breeza and Nexon don’t look like SUV they are just large hatchbacks. Ecosport, Duster, and Creta are more SUV looking.

Never drove brezza or ecosport but I felt that visibility (overall driver view, A-pillar blockages, unable to see the front part of car, rear view of the traffic from a driver's perspective) was a little bit of an issue with Nexon. is it true for ecosport and brezza as well?

Please also mention that to move the brezza with a small underpowered engine, maruti has heavily compromised on build quality which gets broken down completely even hitting a dog or bicycle. That makes brezza a whopping 200kg lighter than nexon or ecosport. Even putting a nexon engine on auto rickshaw with features and 2 airbags will make it a sport vehicle. Shame on maruti. While it gets a lot of money to deliver best vehicle, it wants to make most profit of every vehicle by saving cost and cheating customers on cheap build and underpowered engine.

MotorBeam Completely Agree. Biased Review. Nexon AMT shift is far smoother than in Brezza. Safety is nowhere mentioned. Brezza interiors sucks. Nexon is far more value for money for the same price.
