I have owned this gun for several years. I am a 5"2" female have small hands have not had any problem shooting this gun. Shot both the 45s and .410 shot gun shells, handles very well love the sight ,easy to use. Great for home defense, love this gun.
I have a Public Defender and I shoot both the 45 Colt and 410 shells. The first thing I did was to buy, from Taurus is the longer handle. I use it for RV defense loaded with 7 1/2 birdshot.
i love mine! i carry owb with an xl t-shirt. doesnt print any more than an xds of shield. and the weight is less than my sr.40 c with a full 15 rnd mag. the gun is heavy for a ccw but im used to carring full mag compacts so the weight isnt an issue. sweet gun!
Hiking & Backpacking, funny you say that. I watched a youtube video done by a guy that said he was looking for a backpacking pistol, and decided to buy the public defender.
I love mine!!! Of course I can't carry it because I'm not if legal age yet, but it's very fun to shoot and it's a good conversation starter for those who are not familiar with the weapon. Mine is a matte black, and I extended the grip. Aside from that it's the same weapon I would recommend it for home defense though, but I've never actually carried it.
It's weird, this thing is made in Brazil, one of the highest crime rate in the world. It's totally forbidden to a citizen to own this kind of thing (max is 38SP after tons of red tapes, to keep it at home, carry? Forget!). Neither a cop can have it. But if you're a thug, it's OK. You do not obey the law anyway.
It seems like most of the size has been reduced from the most important areas, barrel length and grip. The cylinder is the same as the regular judge and it only weighs an once less. The grip is way too small, so at that point, the regular Judge seems like a better fit outside of women, an extra 1/2 barrel won't do anything but improve accuracy
use a 45 lc and you can shoot 30 yards and up. I have same exact gun and does just fine out at that distance, practice, practice, practice. I'm 5'6 and 185 pounds and I carry it iwb and owb just fine with a xl shirt and pants for cold weather and for summer shorts and xl muscle shirt and works just fine.
I think it would work well for personal protection in public. But I just can't get past the look of it. And I don't think I would like the way it would carry.
