Not sure if you ever got the 692… I just did and it is awesome! Especially with the cost of ammo. I can go shoot a couple .357 and .38 special then switch over to 9mm. It is flawless with every size

Thanks for the video, i have the same gun and love it, is it safe to take the yoke screw out of the frame and take out cylinder ? Is there anything that can go wrong ? How much movement of the cylinder is normal, ie, rotationally, mine has a tiny bit both cocked and not not cocked.

Don't get me wrong, but, You don't brush the outer matte finish because it will be scratched.

I'm having a hard time cleaning my compensator ports. Did you have any scratching on the finish from the copper brush? I shot about 200 rounds through mine before the first cleaning so it is caked on pretty good
@GunsASMR
@GunsASMR Год назад
hello friend, at first just use a good powder solvent and a light copper brush so as not to damage or cause scratches.

I had the same issue with mine so im glad you asked. I had a pick specially made for it. Has light copper bristles through a rubber coating. It works pretty well but doesn't get all of it.

How long have you owned revolvers? You don't take the barrel brush to the exterior, barrel ports, or cylinder. You get a better class of solvent and use a stiff bristle, gun brush. You didn't pull the plate off to properly clean and lube the trigger assembly. You oiled the exterior of the trigger and hammer, which does nothing. You don't need three drops of oil on your hammer spring. You slapped the cylinder around, which wears out the bolt, center pin, and cylinder stop. You received a lot of "wows" from viewers who obviously don't know. You could have done a lot better.

thanks for the constructive criticism, they will be extremely valid for us to improve, follow along and give us tips.
@wigon

@@GunsASMR I would add to that constructive criticism, that you never clean any firearm running a brass brush through from the muzzle side. You can very easily damage the muzzle crown doing that and in the process, ruing the accuracy of the firearm. If damage the crown can be repaired by a good gunsmith, but it's an expensive repair and has to be done by someone who really knows what they're doing and has the right tools to do it. It's a pain in the ass but the proper way is hold the brush by itself at the cylinder end of the barrel. Then run the cleaning rod through the barrel from the cylinder and screw the brush onto the cleaning rod. Then pull both out from the cylinder end. it's a bit of a pain in the ass, but it's worth it to keep from damaging the barrel crown. Personally, I only use a brass barrel brush once every 200 rounds after running a patch with solvent on it, through the barrel and letting it sit overnight. Then the next day I run the brass brush through it in the manner described above and that gets out most of the lead (and caked on carbon) fouling. But for normal cleaning, I just run a few patches of CLP through it until the patches are light grey, and then call it a day. Over-cleaning is probably the #1 reason that people lose accuracy on their firearms. Just for context my background with firearms is 8 years, U.S. Army and 31 years of private firearm ownership.

@@wigon I was thinking the same thing when he was cleaning the barrel from the muzzle side !
@wigon
@wigon 9 месяцев назад
@@mrcolin2u I had some typos that I fixed that clarifies what I meant. but yeah....basically never clean a firearm from the muzzle end down. One always has to respect the muzzle crown and treat it carefully.

This isn't a good disassembly video as it completely skips over the piece inside of the first screw. The screw holding the cylinder has a spring & pin piece which is very important & very easy to lose.
