This is my 1st tautog fishing in Connecticut (CT). The fishing spot today is the Stonington Point, where free on-site parking is available. It was very windy and the tide was high but I caught two keepers.
I have shared some spots for Striped bass, squid, and eel in the Boston Harbor. I know only one squid spot (Nut Island) in Quincy. I will share more spots with you if I explore more new spots. FYI, given that no fish (or less population of fish species (scup, black sea bass, tautog) in Boston and Quincy, I have experienced that the southern state (RI) is much more productive.
I was a cop for 30 years in Stonington and I honestly never saw anyone fishing at the Point, Divers would go for Lobster but that's all I ever saw. I'm glad you had some luck there.
always enjoy watching your videos... do you fish in the winter too? I tried fishing for togs a few days ago. not a single bite. Seems like they all went to deep water because of the cold now :(
Love your video’s. I watch one of your videos on smelt fishing and I ended up going up to Maine to do the same great time very fun. Which boat do you go on for tug or any recommendation.
I also fish around New haven, CT. Mostly fort Nathan Hale Park. Let me know if you are planning this year. I will be happy to join. Appreciate your video.
I heard that only couple of small togs were caught last week at Beavertail. Party boat is a good option in December. My friend, Bonobono caught four big togs last Saturday (11/26).
