So many beautiful disses if you know the lore. Kim K called her a snake and sent all her fans after Taylor...Taylor takes the snake, makes it hers, owns it, and sells snake merch. Taylor really is a genius.

All the haters managed to do was make her more powerful than ever

The more appropriate term is “Savage Taylor” vs. “Toxic Taylor.” I sure as hell do love Savage Taylor!! She lets you have it as she smiles & says, “bless your heart.” “Toxic” has really negative connotations attached to it & Taylor is anything but. We don’t call male rappers (e.g., Drake, Kendrick) toxic when they’re putting out diss track after diss track, so why must we label a woman who can also write scathing diss tracks “toxic?” There can be no double standard. And speaking of Taylor’s pen game, there’s a reason why the rapper Knox Hill describes her as “a battle rapper with a guitar.” People ought to know by now not to cross her because she’s “got a blank space, baby,” and she’ll “write your name!”

“I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time” no matter how many times haters try to bring her down, she rises to the top again.

I'm 68 and took the dive into Swift this year to see what the fuss was about. You hit it at the end. This song is about Kanye and Kim's edited phone call that destroyed her reputation. There's only way to describe that. They "conspired" to destroy Swifts reputation and take her career down. That's why the headstone says "here lies Taylor Swifts reputation". For her entire career Swift had strived to be the "good girl". The phone call saying the old Taylor is dead is saying no more good good girl and she's hitting back now. At the end the multiple versions of Taylor are from through her career and videos along with her VMA where Kanye interupted her. The conversation between them I found hilarious. It's all things that have been done and said about her. "What's that bitch" answered by "don't call me that" is a reference to Kanye calling her a bitch in his song. Another great reference is one version saying to the version recording with her phone - "what are you doing"? "Getting the receipts, I'll edit this later". Another direct reference to what Kim did. That's just scratching the surface of all the Kanye/Kim references in this video. I can't say this is among my favorite Swift songs. I've had "Out Of The Woods" stuck in my head since hearing it last week for the first time. I love it! But this music video, along with all the Kanye/Kim references in the lyrics, plus the Swift on Swift dialogue at the end is absolutely awesome. The good girl hit back hard.

Dollar bill - sexual assault lawsuit. 0:37 background an asshole DJ put his hand up her skirt and grabbed her (with witnesses) she spoke up, he was fired, HE sued her for getting him fired, she counter sued for $1 and won. Bath tub full of diamonds. Remember when KimK got robbed at gun point in Paris…well she was in a bathtub and they stole all her jewelry. 4. Snakes - Kim K 0:54 Kim started the whole Taylor is a snake on Instagram and tried to cancel Tay. # Taylorisoverparty was number one world wide trend. 5. Crashing the car - Katy Perry 01:14 At the time they had a long standing beef. She's styled like Katy with same hair from Katy's diss track Swish Swish and she's holding one of her Grammy which Katy doesn't have. 6. Taylor's fight with streaming services - the industry 1:48 Taylor refused to let her music go to streaming services until artists received a better deal for their songs. Fun fact she finally released her music to streaming (once she got the deal she wanted) on the same day the Katy Perry released her album Witness 7. The phone call - Kanye & KimK 2:55 Kim K recorded and edited a phone call between Kanye and Taylor to make it look like Taylor approved of the lyrics in his song Famous...she did not. The unedited call was leaked years later and proved Taylor right. 8. Dance scene 3:09 - the haters that said she cant dance. I'm sure I missed some.

I don’t think she’s done with Kim or Kanye. They really tried to ruin her, for no apparent reason other than to be cruel. Someone mentioned the Miss Americana documentary on Netflix. It explains a lot about the things she’s been thru, and clarifies how the Kanye/Kim betrayal really took her down (until she came back w the Reputation album).

The line about 'you said the gun was mine' was about Kanye saying she had the power to veto the use of her name in his song, but he did it anyway, calling her a bitch & Taylor was mad. Kim K released an edited version of the phone call with Kanye, making Taylor out to be a liar. She called Taylor a snake & the world turned on Taylor. She disappeared for a year & came back with her Reputation tour & a harder attitude. What they made her do, was become harder. No more innocent trusting Taylor. There are snakes in a lot of her stuff now. Taylor decided to lean into the BS about her, either owning it or making fun of it, like in 'Blank Space'.

The snakes are because Kim K. called Swift a “snake” during the whole edited phone call mess. People bombarded Taylor’s socials with snake emojis. She embraced the snake image and used it as the primary icon for the Reputation album/tour. I like your idea of the snake shedding its skin to become a different version of itself. Good bet that’s part of why Taylor decided to embrace the image. She’s said in interviews that, being a woman in the music industry, she’s had to continually reinvent herself.

In the background it has Nils Sjunberg( I spelled the last name wrong) on a tombstone. That is a diss at her ex boyfriend D.J. Calvin Harris. He wrote the music for "This is what you came for, for Rihanna." Taylor wrote the lyrics! They, I think he said it would overshadow the song if both their names were on it since they were dating so Taylor used a synonym. Calvin did an interview promoting the song and was asked if he would ever do a song with his girlfriend and he said no. Taylor was MAD. She put out a statement saying she wrote the lyrics and he kept her voice in a couple parts that Rihanna couldn't hit the notes. I mean absolutely no shade to Rihanna! She is the ultimate bada××. The dollar bill in the tub is because a D.J. at a concert taking a picture backstage with Taylor he slid his hand up her skirt when his hand was supposed to be around her waist. Her people told the manager of the station and he got fired and blackballed in Nashville where he lived and was popular. Several years later HE sued Taylor because he couldn't find a job, lost out on millions(he didn't even make $100,000) when he was working and she defamed him. She countersued him for $1.00. The jury threwout his case and award Taylor the $1.00 she was asking for. 4. The gold car that crashes is Katy Perry. Taylor is holding a Grammy of hers because Katy has never won a Grammy. 5. Taylor in the Orange outfit is a diss a Kendall Jenner. 6. Taylor in the vault with the people stealing money is a diss at Apple Music and Spotify. They weren't paying the artists enough so Taylor wrote them an open letter about it. Apple caved immediately. Spotify took 2 years so Taylor took all of her music off of Spotify for 2 years. They are trying to crawl up the T but get kicked away. That is Taylor saying the "nice" Taylor is dead. Go away. 9. Taylor on the phone call saying she is dead. Refers to the Kayne call and Taylor saying the "nice" Taylor is dead again. Implying you hardened her and made her not trust people. 10.The I ❤T.S. tees the guys wear is a dig at her ex Tom Hiddleston. Story behind that. Yes, that was Toddrick. Him and Taylor have been friends for around 15 years. He helped direct or produce her video "You need to Calm down." 11. At the end those are Taylor's in outfits from events, concerts and videos. They are all making statements the media makes fun of Taylor for saying or that they say about her. There are a few more disses in the video but I can't remember them all off the top of my head. Not different personalities, not what she's saying. Kim used the media and her fan base to destroy her career.
