TBS is a great ministry! I have the Westminster and the Windsor Bibles. The quality is excellent in my opinion, for the price.

I just got my Westminster and that decision was largely based on this review. I have to say that you were right about everything. Its a nice bible but not premium...this isnt a bad thing, its a good thing actually. I dont feel worried that I'll damage it by using it. I have premium bibles and my number one concern is keeping them pristine...i cringe when a page gets crinkled or dog-eared. I dont have that concern with this bible and the references are excellent. it has the perfect size and durability for everyday use as you said and it has a particular stiffness to it that makes the cover feel more protective of whats inside. Its simple and it works!

Yes the new prints are printcorp Belarus. I have both, I wrote notes all through the printcorp and it holds up great! That said, the royal jongbloed is definitely a nicer paper, but both are great!

So I have a somewhat strange question. I have a royal jongbloed version and the paper is truly exquisite, but it's not exactly pleasant to write in. The paper is almost too nice. With that said, did it seem like the paper took writing well in the printcorp version? Thanks!

I have the large print. My only wish: change the font to something a bit more thick and/or bold. Yes, the font is almost 12pt, but the font *style* uses very thin letters. But a great edition for study.

Yes they stopped using Jongbloed a few years ago, likely because Printcorp (in Belarus) is a lot cheaper. They have always done the large print in Belarus due to Jongbloed not having equipment to handle the size (according to TBS). The quality between the Printcorp and Jongbloed is not much different other than different paper. Neither of them are bound on premium and both have more ghosting than I would like. I have both Jongbloed and Printcorp. Jongbloed is on a 27 gsm that's cream in color and Printcorp is on a white paper that's 28 gsm, neither premium. So if any of you are holding out for a Jongbloed just go ahead and get a Printcorp because both have ghosting. Now when they do their next print run they won't be using Belarus due to sanctions. So they may go back to Jongbloed, we'll see. Hopefully they will use better paper. I don't care about the binding, can always rebind.

I would love if they went back and stayed with Jongbloed - they do amazing work!

@@BibleReviewChannel Honestly other than the color of the paper it's pretty much the same bible. I wish they would pay for premium paper. Having RJ print/bind is kind of a waste if it's on non-premium paper :( It's sad because it's my favorite bible and I have a lot of premiums that I won't even use now. But yeah, I agree, RJ is awesome.

@@mike21822 I am simply restating what I was told by TBS themselves. They want their bibles to be affordable, therefore the materials are not going to be high end. I have several versions of the Westminster (Schuyler, TBS - RJ/Printcorp) and several premium bibles. There is more ghosting in my Westminster than any of my premium bibles. If your 40gsm MacArthur has the same ghosting as a Westminster then the paper is pretty bad. If you are talking about feel, well that's moot. I'm referring to ghosting. I don't care about texture, just opacity.

Where do you get your wide ribbons?
@williamburns1906
@williamburns1906 Год назад
If memory serves, he gets them from Walmart. It is just polyester ribbon cut to a desired length and singed on the edge to prevent fraying.

I actually a spool of it from Walmart - the craft section.

Why use a KJV when the NKJV is available - and superior?

@@BibleReviewChannel That's fine, but do you understand every word of its 17th century English?
@BibleReviewChannel
@BibleReviewChannel Год назад
I don't understand every word of 2023 medical journals, nor engineer journals, nor legal journals. That argument is mute. All one has to do is look any word they are not familiar with (like professional journals) and there ya go - you know the word now.
@alanhowe7659
@alanhowe7659 Год назад
@@BibleReviewChannel No, looking up words because the English is outmoded is an unnecessary extra barrier to understanding. Sometimes one may even be unaware that one has misunderstood something. The solution is to use a translation written in the language of today, not yesterday.
@BibleReviewChannel
@BibleReviewChannel Год назад
Then make sure all medical, law, and engineering training books are all re-written as well since it’s a barrier to learning. Educate oneself. Also when you look up a word that’s unfamiliar the context will show the proper definition. It also makes one slow down to really absorb the word. By the way - this is all coming from someone that hated and I mean despised the KJV for many years. Studying the manuscript evidence is why I came to the Textus Receptus.
