I loved Living Single and Friends. But Living Single was just different, man. That show is criminally underrated. So sad.

I watched episodes of Living Single a couple of days ago and a lot about that show still holds up today. It's also still entertaining which is more than I can say for Friends.

I had a chance to meet TC at one of his friend's b-day party but he was leaving as I was coming into the party. Next time, we will have another opportunity.

TC has always been a outspoken but eloquent brother. He told Yvette Bowser early on that he didn't want to be on a show where in order to build women up the men had to be the brunt of the humor or weak. She listened and Living Single became one of the very best shows ever and he can claim that without him specifically it may not have had the same effect. Look at what happened when he was gone that last year.

I love "Living Single". Over here in Mexico, it would play immediately after "Martin", another great show. I couldn't wait for Sunday, so I could watch those two shows. But we would watch them on Sony Entertainment Television.

Latina here. Not gonna lie, I grew up watching a lot of Black shows because even though we got our own channels like TC said, the colorism in the Latinx community is REAL. I'm a daughter of immigrant parents and I related to and enjoyed shows like this a lot more than anything else on tv. The Latinx channels back then didn't feel like they were made for me, or showed my community/women in a positive light. So shows like Living Single really resonated with me, because here's a group of intelligent, funny, successful people that aren't white. YES! Television and film is screwed up in a big way... On the show One Day at a Time, all the characters are Cuban but none of the principal actors are actually Cuban... You have straight cis people constantly in LGBTQ roles... REPRESENTATION MATTERS! Also, I tried watching Friends for the first time now that I'm in my 30s and that show is boring as hell.

Unfortunately when race, the thing that makes being black (American descendants of slavery) the bottom cast, it's because of a socioeconomic burden that was forced on us because our government. True access to capital has kept black people from economic success as a group. This is even includes having control over our own images. The bottom line is without us being on the bottom they can't make money which is why it is so hard for us as a group to succeed. It's like being enslaved every generation. Which is why we should never forget the history of why we're here. You can't get enslaved every generation if you know what the history is. That's why it has to happen through reparations and with a serious black agenda that would protect it once it's secured.

Stole it, did it better, and it's still played on TV to this day. I watched both shows back in the day and until Schwimmer said his comments I totally forgot Living Single existed. Shit, nobody has talked about that show in like 20 years so quit acting like dude should have remembered it and that he is some kind of racist because he didn't.

Nothing we do is respected, especially in music. *EVERYBODY* can do rap and basically treat it like a doorstep. We try to do other genres (that we've created) and it's out of the question. They treat us like we don't exist. _How do you act black? How do you sound black?_ Oh, so black folks don't exist? Be very wary when somebody asks those questions. That means we don't exist. When somebody is Indian or pretends to do an Indian accent, nobody ever asks _How do you sound Indian?_ You automatically know. Anyway, we're the most unique and creative individuals on this planet. They disregard that though. Black folks are beautiful and resilient. Mr. Carson is right, Hispanics and Asians have their own thing. We do and we don't. Asians in Asia keep to themselves. We need to have some of that, but we don't. We're so damn afraid of folks thinking we're unwelcoming. Asians don't have that issue. Well, mainly because everybody's so busy tryna be like us. Our influence is golden.
