Teach Us to Pray 

Love this prayer! In the name of Jesus I pray! Amen! Amen! Amen! 06/02/2024

In Jesus name Amen! Amen! Amen!

Today as I was walking home from school I was asking God, why is it that You taught us to pray like this? And after I saw this video I realized why.. thank you!! :)

Whoever reads this God bless, repent and believe the Gospel, Jesus christ is returning, humble yourself before God...trust in His free gift of salvation...and to you lukewarm christians, wake up and read your bible, feed yourselves and hold onto your faith

Jesus paid the price for our sins so we wouldn’t have to! So trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Also repent so you don’t perish!

In the grind that is life, in the places where our Heavenly Father seems so far removed, He is there if we seek Him; then Glorify Him, for even in the tiny things we may think, do, or say; we will find Him there. Then we will be One in Him, and walk with Him in His Kingdom, no matter where in the physical world we have been placed..Thank You Father.

Tonight is the first time I have prayed that prayer in a manner of what I think our Lord's intentions were when he gave it to us. Thank you, Pastor John.

I have been so blessed by this prayer. I know it by heart and use it in my daily devotions. The simplicity of the language, free from unnecessary flowery, poetic expressions enable it to be said from the heart. I wish John Piper would write more prayers.

What a great blessing. Those words of our Lord Jesus just burst to life when we not only say prayers, but pray in the Spirit. Prayer is the secret. "Lord, tech us to pray, as John also taught his disciples" (Luke 11:1).

The visuals are extraordinary... it adds a sense of peace even though the words declare peace on their own

The way John Piper looks over the words of the Lord's Prayer and seeks to 'expand' the thought of each line that Jesus spoke: it seems to be a wise way to read through God's Word. To read through it, and to restate it to yourself in another way, to try to view it at another angle, rather than skimming on through. I highly recommend taking notes as you read: you think over something more if you have to speak it or write it, rather than merely read it. Seek God's help when doing so, of course: don't merely trust your own understanding. But seek wisdom, as well, for God wants us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and *mind* - emphasis on mind, in this particular case!

Deliver me from the relentless snares of temptation and fruitless labor apart from God.

Just as an idea... it'd be great to have a video of Lord's Prayer prayed in different languages. Sometimes I think of this prayer being repeated non-stop around the globe in all tribes and tongues, reaching up to heaven... just amazing to ponder that...

*that was a beautiful supplementation to the Lord's Prayer Pastor Piper, but in regards to "our daily Bread." Rather than mentioning money, the point of Jesus/The Word being the bread that satisfies our spiritual hunger would be "better?" :)

Awesome video but, John said some things that were not God. I am not a sinner, and I don't ask God for just enough to live..... this is not Scriptural prayer. We are no longer sinners anymore. And God gives us more than enough so we can bless others with what we have.
