I've taught bow before, but I was having issues with a new dog, couldn't figure it out. Then I saw your video and realized my lure positioning was all wrong. I went back at it with Max, and it clicked with him inside of 5 minutes! Thanks a lot for the video!

I want to teach bow to my SDIT for chemicals that I have a sensitivity too. So she bows whenever she smells bleach or some other chemical that I have trained her to alert too. This is so I don't have a athsma attack and end up in the hospital.

I can get my dog to bow down only when I have the treat in hand but I can't get her to do it when I don't have it in my hand. What should I do?

Keep repeating it with the food for quite some time. Eventually the dog will perform the bow in anticipation of treat, that's when you reward and begin to phase out future treat lures.
