If you label your own beliefs crazy why belief it ? What if you perceive someone as a guru but they aren't which is rare but could happen . i try to raise people standard of accepting new information even if i agree , really just repeatedly ask yourself how do i know this Edit : otherwise good but we can deceive ourselves depending on personality some easier than others

@@jmarch_503 Well, that's just my way of saying they're not mainstream and would be perceived by some as out there. So I run into folks who share similar beliefs about the nature of reality but simultaneously want to position themselves as special. Teal is one of those folks.

I agree Michael. I have run in the metaphysical circles in my area. It seems that power as always seems to take control of some talented healers. All of a sudden they get visions of themselves being all powerful. That's when I start wondering...hummm. I understood you completely about stating your "crazy" experiences.

As soon as we open up the idea that everyone is Divine and capable of contacting the fullness therein for themselves we get a dilemma of why some take places of authority and shy away from accountability (one practitioner made a point of how they don't want Big Brother telling them what to do). Taking all the credit and denying any responsibility.

Honestly I feel like people who hate her for her suicide video have never been suicidal. I genuinely needed someone to validate my suicidal feelings as something that is ok to feel, and for the first time in my life I felt like I am not a failure of a human being for feeling suicidal when I watched that video. Suicide is hard to deal with on it's own and most people meet it with either disdain, shock or judgement which isn't helping. I don't know much about her as a person, all that crystal angel astral projection stuff, but her mental health advice is extremly helpful, at least for me.

Congratulations! I will have to check out that book :-) I have nothing against teal or therapy. I am definitely against SSRIs! I have taken both the spiritual path and healing with a licensed therapist. Thankfully I have one that is amazing! And much like you have described teal my therapist has helped me to notice my unhealthy thought patterns and rewire. Here’s to healing!
@dawnacoxon3111
@dawnacoxon3111 3 года назад
Sorry my other comment was supposed to be on someone else’s comment LOL I have never seen her video on suicide but I feel you! I know a few years ago I had a really interesting moment with suicidal feelings. Was during an overwhelming moment in my life and I allowed the feelings without (obviously I’m still here) reacting to them. And it really actually took me to an amazing place. Just to feel without the resistance. I can understand where it might be harmful. I mean to suggest people allow these feelings. I was in a space already in my healing journey that I was strong enough to not react to them but they were very powerful feelings. Someone might not be able to feel them without reacting to them and actually end up committing suicide.

Her video on suicide is the ONLY thing that helped me through with NOT taking my own life. Exactly validating and understanding what being suicidal means: not judging and making it wrong- made me commit to life. I am a Teal follower, but I take everything that she (or anyone else for that matter) with a grain of salt. There is a lot of common sense in her teachings. I do not believe she is 100% right about anything, but who is?
@Blackstorm96
@Blackstorm96 3 года назад
@@dzeinaegle9529 Yes, primary thing that Teal taught me is that if you judge something as "wrong" you will only make things worse. Suicidal ideation is a part of the human experience, even though society doesn't really recognise it as such and sees it as a very "taboo" thing to talk about. Regarding Teal's teachings, you are on the right path I think, it is true that nobody holds the complete truth. Teal did say herself that if some self help advice is useful to you, use it, but if it isn't useful just let it go and forget about it, find something else that helps you. Only you know what is best for you :)

Well, keep rolling as I am one. I sense all emotions from people when I get close enough to see them. I also feel the same about all sentient beings and vegetation. It is about vibrations and frequencies. Everything vibrates and it can be "picked up" in a way, we respond with emotions. My heart sinks when I hear a chain saw that is cutting a tree... that is just an example. Hug a tree to feel comfort....safer than hugging another human being......I think this woman is fake, using her good looks to fool people. She had read stuff here and there and gets it all mixed up, thinking people will not know the difference. Hope no one gives her any money......not likely she reports it to the IRS. A human who would have these qualities she pretends to have would never talk about them and neither would a " hybrid".

Even if she is all the bad things you think she is, I have been watching all her videos for about 3 years now and she has helped me mentally, spiritually and psychologically more than any official therapist / psychologist (or religion) ever has. Might I add for free (through her plethora of free RU-vid videos and other free content). Note; I had to pay my therapist and they didn’t change my life for the better like she has. I have never given her any money. She gives us hundreds (maybe even thousands) of free informational videos. She never asks for money on them (like many other people do). Everything she says makes sense to me and seems completely applicable and correct from what I’ve seen and experienced in my life. Not only is she psychological but she is also spiritual and that is what I like about her. It’s not just clinical. I love her. I feel she has saved my life. She has made me a much better person too. I’m more aware, more kind, more patient, more understanding, and more peaceful because of her free teachings. She always makes me feel better, yet she doesn’t sugar coat things or bottle feed you a bunch of fluff. I like that she isn’t bound by any books or legalities that psychologist and psychiatrist are bound by. She’s a genius as far as im concerned, and I don’t say that lightly. I don’t think that with hardly anyone in my life. I never felt this well with a single therapist or psychologist that I’ve ever seen. That’s my experience. She has a video for literally everything I’ve ever needed. That’s rare. I think she is amazing. Deep down I feel she is a good person as well.

I can't speak to issues of psychology beyond a layman's level of knowledge. Religion is my personal wheelhouse, though, and I can't help but reflect that while many people think religion is supposed to be therapeutic in nature, any religion worth considering presents itself as an encounter with ultimate reality, not as a form of therapy. While following a religion may have many secondary benefits, the issue in religion is truth for truth's sake, not how it affects us. What is true or false is true or false regardless of its emotional impact on us. I've only watched one of Teal Swan's videos. A great deal of it WAS helpful to me and seemed to me to make sense. I was glad to see Dr. Grande's video because it allowed me to place what she said in a larger context and obtain a scientifically oriented perspective on her. I'm grateful for whatever she says that is true and helpful; I can make the same statement about anyone. But I do not believe that she is half-alien, and I have to admit to a great deal of skepticism about her claim to supernatural powers. Nor do I have an exceptionally high opinion of the New Age movement generally. I don't think that I'll be enlisting in her "army."
@richardcarte139
@richardcarte139 2 года назад
@@RobertEWaters She never claimed to have super natural powers. Your just skeptical about it because it’s new but that’s understandable. New Age beliefs is just a modern western word response to a lot of old world ideas/ideals from both east and west to a lesser extent some in between. But is not structured like an organized religion would be. So because it has no central structure it could be applied to any ideals/ideas. But if it did have a central structure that structure would probably be the concepts of the balance between the different life, bodily, universal, earthly, emotional and mental energies and the energies of our own human dualities. The best thing to do in order to separate the scam artists from the people who are genuine/authentic is just like anything else, to do some research over some time to educate yourself on it.

@@cassandrareedy7369 i noted this down. Personally i discovered her videos not long ago (maybe two weeks ago on shorst on yt). They made a little bit of sense and cought my attention. Yesterday tho i decided to subscribe and check her work a little deeper since she had this certain way of speaking. This one video about discipline was pretty interesting and had some points then yt decided to show me "the meaning of life" made by her, to which i was deeply intrigued since that's a pretty odd topic to touch on. Nevertheless the disclaimer about how the video can pe only present in one language, that is limited (in English) was ... unexpected and i watched the video trying to understand her points and hopefully find the meaning of life :))) all i can say is, that left me a lil disturbed since i sensed the fact that she was trying to put a belief as an argument for the, so called, purpose of life... Overall i think that when you go into the realm of beliefs, using the base of how religion works and the tool that's represents a god of some kind, then you can say that you either do it to manipulate the ones willing to believe since the tool used by religion is usually a god so it can trick the listener into something familiar in which they can believe... Idk if it makes sense but im glad i found this video now, this kinds of things should be treated with a grain of salt, if you can take an advice, do it, but keeping your composer it's hard sometimes and you should always be careful when you are trying to get information from those who want to promote a belief in the process of sending you information. She even had a disclaimer about how you should check a doctor if you are okay with experiencing hypnosis...like ehem, that's odd, just be careful guys. She is smart ..but yeah, might as well be dangerous.

Its weird cause in my teenage years I used to be suicidal depressed and extremely confused... I started going to a psychiatrist was given strong medication was doing the sessions but I only got worse and worse... My psychiatrist had told my mum that I'd probably never be able to work again and what was happening to me was unfixable... I started listening to teal swan after some years of serious issues and actually found her to be kinda genius... I stopped the medication and the sessions I did work on my self by my self and her advice and I felt my mind clearing up so much I started seeing other people and situations so much more clearly and I did find a job I still have made a lot of friends and all and all things are just running smoothly... Not perfectly obviously... Also when I hear you talk about her I get the impression that you have just a vary surface idea of her methods and also the spiritual movement overall... Which I'll agree can contain a lot of shit and misinformation but if you go deep into it and with a critical mind not just following "spiritual teachers" like a mindless sheep you can actually get a lot of value out of it.

She honestly helped me immensely, I used to be a meth addicted, homeless bum 2 years ago, I suffered with bipolar disorder for 13 years before then and attempted suicide several times in my life. I then had a spiritual awakening after one where I came back. I came across her and she has helped me in so many ways, sure she may make some out there claims but until I followed her suggestions on depression and suicide I was still in that pain. Now I have a fullness of life and finally understand why my life matters and value myself and others. Instead of looking at these negatives it's important to realize a lot of her suggestions and teachings do have merit. It's good to be cautious but not to the point where we put ourselves into a box and reject the positive. Psychology and psychiatry never provides me the help for my issues in all the years I lived until I started on a spiritual path and really faced my inner self and unmasked my false beliefs and past, only by turning toward my pain. I finally find meaning in life, am making positive changes, taking responsibility, behavior and thought changes, and also healing myself and treating others with respect, love, empathy, and concern. She helped in that, I don't mean to say I agree 100% or that she is perfect but I do know that from personal experience the changes have also come with her help, it helped me understand and see through my ego and become better. That's what matters.

There's a documentary series, The Deep End, that's about her and halfway through the 1 episode it was 100% clear to me that she's a narcissist. She's so advanced, yet she's super triggered by someone questioning her. I think the whole "I'm a mirror" thing is an upfront gaslighting technique. She also believes there's not a single soul smarter, more advanced, more spiritual or above her. She is above all, and knows all. She also tells people it's OK to commit suicide rather than seeking help.

Even knowing the unspun truth about the whole origin of MSB, it is so difficult to help people under sway; mostly because they are uneducated about the conclusions they are being asked to reach by self-proclaimed super intelligent guru whose narcissism make the gurus think his/her most offhand thoughts are reality- truth that should be treated as a new Gospel. We have to apply our most strident logic and intelligent, critical mindset to what these “leaders” are spewing. Regardless of your personal spiritual persuasions, when someone is shoveling bulls*it, no matter how lovely or how applicable it is dressed, it is still bulls*it. Pretty is camouflage and applicable is a sale job in which a NEED is created that only that guru (or politician or any potential leader) can fill. We have to stop letting them LIE the world to death.

It was not great nor accurate. In the field of psychology and psychiatry, professionals are aiming at helping people with their mental-emotional health issues, within traditional and scientifically approved methodology with not very promising results. Don't take my word on this, but look at the figures on how mental health issues keep rising and how many people with severe or less severe conditions actually find cure either in conventional therapy or (btw quite harmful) medication - you will find that not very many of them. If professionals in the same field go to someone who follows a different methodology of their own to help with the same issues that they're trying to help with, but with better results, it is not at all good or a sensible allegory to compare it to chefs and astronauts, them being very far away from each other in their fields of work.

I watched a lot of Teal Swan's videos lately. I made breakthroughs that my therapist couldn't help me with. I never heard of most of the weird stuff that Dr. Todd Grande claimed that she says. She doesn't try to push her paid services the same way I've seen other field experts do. Some of her ideas does contradict the other self-help or spiritual ideas that I've encountered. Does that make her a revolutionary? To me, it doesn't matter. I don't need to know everything about her to get value from her. What I cared about was: Did a lot of her information help me? Yes. And I don't consider her a guru or a God. She's just a human with insight that I specifically needed. I don't watch everything she makes either, I just learn what I need and don't feel any pressure to watch every single thing she has. So to anyone reading this, if you *need* the information that Teal Swan has, then it's okay to find her information valuable. If you don't need it, just because you personally don't find value in it doesn't mean it's not valuable to other people.

I am so very grateful to have found her. Her lessons do not contradict themselves and are transformative. This man reviewing her seems more threatened by her than anything. To be honest, you don't need to be as "special" as Teal Swan seems to claim the right to critique the mental health system paradigm as it is. Yes that is a reasonable word to describe the mental health "industry". Lots of highly qualified philosophers and people who have worked in this "industry" are critical of DSMV, including doctors. What was the cause. Trauma. So the origin is not a chemical imbalance and meds can help but you can also be helped with a good therapist. Ideally meds and therapy work best together and then we taper off meds but some people will need meds for the rest of their life depending on severity. Even then that may be because we do not know enough about how to support others. The usa prescribes more drugs than any other country. It is a money making business and the science shows that especially for PTSD the meds dont work that well. MDMA assisted psychotherapy has much promise though.

This is interesting. I’ve watched a few of her videos but was unaware of all these claims apart from her saying she was abused by a cult as a child. I too find her hard to listen to, but not because of her content- she speaks in quite a monotone and has minimal expression which tends to make me drift off (incidentally, these could be indicators of Autistic Spectrum which frequently comes with identity issues which might account for the alien claims). I have found some of her videos to be extremely insightful. I think we, as clinicians, sometimes need to remember that the psychology/psychiatry/ sociology based helping professions are all Johnny-come-latelies and that philosophers, mystics and priests have been guiding people for significantly longer than we have with our meta- medical models. Having said this, you have clearly researched TS in some depth and know much more about her than I do, so I’m not making a case in her favour; more speaking about the possibility of useful and helpful information on mental health coming from a variety of sources, not just the scientific.

Only if someone has some real thoughts on it: Despite the weird stuff that she says about aliens and dimensions, doesn't she give out helpful information as well? Like the importance of loving yourself, healing your traumas, being aware of your social conditioning, listening to your needs, integrating your shadow aspects... I think she makes some fair points as well. And she is not aversed to science... This was kind of misportrayed in this video. She thinks science is really important, but not the only way to make sense of the world. And she claims that with her extra-sensory abilities she is able to take in more information than possible with conventional science or senses. Also she does not claim to read minds, but because of her extra-sensory ability to perceive different energy wavelengths (it's a scientific fact that some people are able to perceive a wider spectrum of light actually), she can see what emotional state people are in because of the energy they are emitting. This was a very superficial and slightly wrong portray and did not help me come to any conclusion. Immediately judging and ridiculing something because it sounds unlikely is neither smart, nor scientific in any way. It's just ignorant. If someone has any smart thoughts on it, feel free to share. If you just want to make fun, do it in the rest of comment section like all of the other comments.

I'm with you, I'm uncomfortable with this video and with everyone here in the comments ridiculing her and her followers. I don't agree with everything she says but lots of her videos have helped me a lot, especially the ones on relationships. I'm especially disturbed by Dr. Grande leading the way and everyone following in denying her childhood abuse. That's extremely damaging and completely unnecessary! You can disagree with someone without invalidating their trauma. I was disappointed, I thought he would be more objective. Instead he listed off her most extreme views without any context, and conveniently left out any mention of her strengths.

I completely agree with you. Teal has got me through a lot and has helped changed my perspective for the better. I never once heard her say that she's a savior, and she has never demanded money for her work, unless you participate in a workshop etc., which is normal. Teal does come off strong and has an "I'm right about everything" attitude, but at some point I feel like almost every human thinks their beliefs are "right". I don't completely agree 100% with Teal on everything and if she comes off cult-like, well that's because she has a strong following, just like many others in the world. I've watched a handful of Dr. Grande's videos and I really do enjoy them, but if he's only watching maybe 5 videos he's not seeing the full picture. Teal brought me out of a depression and has made me stronger and more spiritual and I am so thankful for that.

Disagree on both what you said and your way of digesting knowledge. She gives out a particular school's interpretation of what's "good" - which may in fact be good, but is also entirely fitting with a "mysterious" new-age narcissism. If you need an outside person to tell you to "listen to yourself", you'll find just about anything "helpful". The second - and bigger - problem with what you say is that, when you correct the video on what it allegedly misquotes, you then proceed without proof. For example, simply because extra-dimensional wavelengths were proven to see by some people, you automatically claim that she "sees" them. People like you are the reason cults exist and make money. "Immediately judging and ridiculing" is that defensive, emotional aggression that Dr. Grande (and all of science) talks about in situations where denial gets angry because it demands that the other side believe something without proof. Literally nothing of what you said could be construed as contradictory, because, instead of offering counterevidence or food for thought, you just disagreed and got angry.

I think his wife is the typical woman he picked so he could above on his own on the balanced side of his work and would hate any intelligent beautifuo woman by his side. He will pick confort, formality and boundaries to what’s not approved on his psyche and form of speach before helping the speed of evolution and counciousness. He will remain in the sensationalist critics rather then looking down in the dark side of the matter. Of his matter. Only if he finds his freedom and originality he will succeed. And I do hope he does if he opens his heart. Woman, spirituality and beauty will raise so he can easily be left behind with a little accident of his as opening his mouth to insult Teal Swan with false information. A court, a trial he can aslo ask for redemption as he asks for other influencers to do so. I see he targets more people who have died or are impression and favours the famous and rich as if they would listen to what he states but Prince Andrew’s interview to which was quite acute.

Within the thoughts of Teal Swan I feel her information is very important. She's confident within herself because shes opened her eyes to greater things. Everything we are going through on this planet is irrelevant. Knowledge in my perception is irrelevant. For this planet to survive all we really need is eachother, not the things we've "created" to become lazy & not see ourselves the way the earth wants us too. We all use our words to help make the world around us the way we want to see it. Money is not the outlook we should have about this world. It should be about ourselves & how we can connect with our inner selves. This is the work she is trying to get out. To love yourselves & others. Understand that we all have deeper truths. To open portals to the brain so we are not stuck in the dimension of perception of what the world really lives to be alive for, money. We are all mislead by this product that we are no longer focusing on ourselves, we see this thing that is taking us over. & since this is happening the only way to stop it is to get it so we can build new heights to the world instead of watching it kill us all because of our blindness of all of the things we are doing wrong & not seeing. With that being said not everything people say should be taking literal. It was just meant to be said at that timing of the moment because that's how it happened. I can say something to a thousand different people & each one of there minds are going to take it differently because each mind is different. That doesn't mean judge them for it. That means take it in the way it's helping your life & that's it. Judging people is not the way to go. Being understanding & understood is the only way we are all going to make peace on this earth. Once you can understand that & except it nothing anyone does or says will ever effect you in a bad way. No judgment will be made. Only happiness. Let me get one thing clear. I have no education it any of these departments either. I do know what my body & soul tell me. & that is treat others the way you want to be treated. & when you love something nothing is going to get in your way of expressing what you want for yourself & others. To save the broken. To love the unloved. She is seeking love for the world. Leaving behind a generation that is in complete understanding with their bodies so they aren't lost & confused in the process of fighting their childhoods in their adult bodies. To me, that is complete beauty. We all have our own opinions, yes. Instead of judging one other maybe we should just except eachother.

I’ve been watching and learning from Teal Swan for years. All free content. All valuable. Todd Grande, PhD has come up on my RU-vid feed quite a few times and I have been less than impressed by his application of formally accepted theories. He has a good knowledge of conventional psychology and is understandably confined by the limits of it. It seems however that he is reluctant or unable to accept that those limits and errors exist in our current systems and practices; that we have a long way to go in this field. Yet he seems eager to (albeit inaccurately) identify the potential limits and perceived errors in a thought system outside of his own conventional bubble. Or maybe an easy target of scrutiny makes for good show content? It must be hard work attracting views to keep his business lucrative on an ongoing basis. While I’m not unsympathetic, I hope and pray for his own sake and that of others in need of what Teal offers, that this is not his motivation. It’s easy to attack this woman because she’s so honest, open, and unusual. She operates outside the limits of conventional standards as did Buddha, Jesus, Marconi and so many other revolutionary thinkers. This makes her a target just as they and many others were. Her use of scientific terminology is unconventional but her ideas are practical and beneficial. She’s correct in saying Einstein‘s PhD‘s were honorary. That’s all she said about them. She didn’t say (as suggested in the video) that he had no education; no degrees. Teal Swan completed high school and some college undergraduate study. Her deep insight comes from the unique and unconventional abilities she was born with and the difficulties she endured. This is true of many great thinkers and healers regardless of their level of formal education. And contrary to the video statements of Dr. Grande, Teal Swan never advocated for suicide. She advocates for better, more effective treatments for suicide. Yes, she tragically lost a patient to suicide but that woman was also under the care of a psychiatrist. The suicide occurred when Teal happened to be on a retreat at the time the afflicted woman experienced a crisis. She couldn’t be reached by phone and the psychiatrist was unable to help. It’s possible Teal may not have been able to prevent it either; we’ll never know. Swan was devastated by the event. The woman’s husband was deeply grateful for all she had done to help his wife and did not blame her for what happened. Many, many health care professionals have suffered such a loss. It was hard to watch this good man of science pile on to the demonization of Swan. This good woman with remarkable abilities and the potential to help many is guilty of one thing. Being ahead of her time. And that’s a lonely and risky place to dwell. I would ask Dr. Todd Grande to reach beyond the limitations of our current scope of practice, set aside his own personal beliefs and judgments, and open his mind to the reality that what Teal Swan is teaching has helped many people in dire need, including those who struggle with depression and suicidal ideation. We need all the help we can get in this world, conventional and unconventional. May each of us find the information and guidance that will help us to live healthy, happy lives and contribute to the good of all.

Prior to going through training to become an MFT I really enjoyed and gleaned a lot from Teal Swan's videos. That dramatically changed as soon as I started studying. I started to be able to recognize the flaws in her language (e.g. autonomic nervous system versus subconscious) and could see how she was conflating ideas, or presenting basic therapeutic interventions as "revolutionary" ideas she'd come up with herself. *facepalm* It definitely made me realize though, how susceptible most people can be, especially without the formal training I've been privileged to receive.

@@aight33 Teal Swan does miss use scientific language in attempt to make her thinking sound more factually sound than it truly is-- if accuracate use of language is in your criterion of what you consider intelligent, and it's this that most scientifically literate people find to be unethical about Teal Swan. It's not to say she doesn't help people. It's just hard to not believe that if Ms. Swan's intelligence is as high as she states that she is not lying or being intellectually lazy and neither should be trusted with the general well being of others. If you value Teal Swan fine, but the women presents herself and tries to convince others that she's a universal good akin to a god. While the truth is, "No there are things about you, Ms. Swan, like all other people that makes the world a little worse, because you're in it and indeed you're going to die like the rest of us mortals."

If you can’t sit through one of her videos, then that just means that your spiritual side is completely closed off and you aren’t very awakened spiritually. Watch her 2020 predictions video. Spot on! If that doesn’t make an impression on you, then I don’t what will. There is a lot more to this world than you realize.

Agree!!! I am shocked at the comments she is tapped in. I think we will always run into a divide with science and spirituality ❤️
