Great video. I’ve done the lower rear shock mod on a few of my cars now using a 12mm (I think) set screw and an M3 nut. Makes fitting and removing so much easier.

The JC shock caps require the JC stand offs with delrin inserts. metal to metal is no good.

Yes! I'm running the jc standoffs up front and the lunsford rears.

Why is it that Team Associated has a gear cover for the Pro 4 SC10, but not the B74.1D?
@DaveDriggs
@DaveDriggs 2 года назад
Great question! I run mine indoors so never really had an issue with rocks etc. Would be a fun 3d printing project for sure.

@@DaveDriggs I tried to 3D print a gear cover for my B6.1DL, and I still failed 13 times. Fortunately JConcepts sells a standup motor plate, allowing me to use the standup transmission gear cover.

Awesome video Dave thank you! Do you have a set up sheet or someone's you copied from GRRC?
@DaveDriggs
@DaveDriggs 3 года назад
For GRRC I started with Rivkin's indoor baseline posted here: img2.associatedelectrics.com/pdf/cars_and_trucks/RC10B74.1D/setup_sheets/B74_1_2020_Rivkin_Indoor_Dirt_Baseline.pdf

i have the B74.1 but if i knew that the 74.1 used the B64 shocks and shafts i would have bought a used B74 and converted it

Have you noticed a difference in acceleration with the plastic over metal gears since lighter equals less rotational mass.
@DaveDriggs
@DaveDriggs 3 года назад
I was reluctant to run them after bad experiences with the EB410 plastic gears (never run the plastic gears in the center diff for that car). So when picked up a b74 I kept the metal gears which holds the car back for 13.5 racing. Some people are even running the plastic gears in mod! Def. worth the investment, AE has some strong plastic.

@@DaveDriggs I have a tekno. I keep snapping teeth on my center diff. new to this hobby. do they have metal gears

How about the slipper vs center diff...insofar as weight? Performance disadvantage vs weight?
@DaveDriggs
@DaveDriggs 3 года назад
The slipper is a good option to shave some weight on the drive line. I ran it a lot in my 74, the car accelerated faster but was slightly harder to drive and had more wear on fronts. I recommend it as a tuning option for sure. It might give you an edge!
@muddfoot69

Thanks, What made it harder? I’m honestly curious...I guess it’s been a while since I’ve run 4wd
@MRPB54
@MRPB54 3 года назад
@@muddfoot69 my guess is that it drives more locked or stiffer to say since the slipper will try to move front and rear at the same time vs center diff

Tires look weird for me. Are these for carpet or artificial grass
@DaveDriggs
@DaveDriggs 3 года назад
Indoor smooth clay tire. Use these when slicks or ghost pins are working. It's a very low tread tire so no sanding and quick break-in.
