I like you how explain why you rated something the way you did and backed by examples. You didn't bash the electronics (for example) because of it's brand name, you explained MT usually have larger cans for more torque. This is the kind of review I needed to know. Thanks!
Search for a store than you can buy an rc car with monthly payments. The last 8 month's i do this . Me i don't have money to buy rc cars easily, i must try to bank money to buy an rc car. Because i don't have the patience to bank money, i found two rc stores in my country and buy rc car's with 6 monthly payments each model. We are not all rich to buy expensive rc cars with one swipe of the credit card. Before 8 months i bought a traxxas trx4 with 6 monthly payments, 92 euros per payment , but at least i buy it. Try it is not bad thinking.
Thanks for the review, I’m still rebuilding a few trucks on my channel atm. I definitely like to have this one soon, thanks again for the great overview of this one. Cheers from Davis California. 😉🤙 Donnie
Great review. i have a helion 10mt brushed version tht i had for over a year, swapped to brushless 3000kv motor and a 80amp esc and omg it a totally different beast. My stepdaughter uses it every week multiple times a week and the only thing that has break its the wheelie bar/rear bumper. This team associate truck looks just like it besides bumpers. Again great review and info man.
Absolutely amazing review brother! I've been really struggling with what my next RC car was going to be. I have gas power truggies and buggies but I really wanted an electric basher that I could just plug and bash and I really think after watching your review that this is the one for me.. thanks again brother great job and keep it up!
I like it a lot, great video by the way, always been sorry I sold my stampede after many years/upgrades.Theres just something about a 1/10 scale MT.My 2 cents, RPM front arms and tbone front bumper.
I agree, the motor should have been a 550 3660 size motor, 540 is a little small for a 1/10 monster truck on 3s lipo. Also around a 100amp ESC to go with the 550 motor. Considering the price, it’s a good start. You can upgrade later if needed 👍🏻
I was about to pick one of these up from Amain a week ago when they had that 15% off deal it was around $250 bucks. But i already have an Arrma Granite and seemed very similar. Decided to go with the element enduro trailwalker deal that they were offering direct, I’ve been interested in getting a crawler and having an extra is nice for anyone who wants to come with.
Niiiice! I’m liking this truck more I see you discuss it. I’ve been debating on this or the PLMT4x4 for my next truck. Leaning toward the Rival. Seen too many breakages on the PL.
Great review as always! Very interesting regarding the race inspired tuning 🤔 I will say I prefer my Proline Pro SCT over my Arrma Senton 3s in part due to the adjustments that I can do with the Proline. Now I wish I would have picked this truck up, lol!
Hehe, we have a new car park extension at work, which is basically rollered earth, with chunky stones rollered into it and loose on the surface. I've had to wait till almost all cars have left at the end of the day, because of the stones that this thing kicks up! I've been racing RC off road since the 1980s, on and off, LoL! 😁😉 But this is the first "Monster Truck" I've bought, and it's big fun! Thought it's close to being a truggy. I'm glad that I used a cheapo body shell on it to try it out though! Maybe the original shell would have withstood the bashing, but this cheap one is full of holes after 10 minutes! Haha, flipping yout RC truck on a stony car park at 35mph is probably not to be advised. Nothing else broken so far. Got some ProLine belted trencher tires coming now. Hope I don't break the whole truck before next week due to that addictive wheelie-ing! Yes yes, I'm on grass this weekend. 😉
Nice review. I think value for money the maverick quantum flux brushless 3s - is equally as good as this truck at half the retail price + slightly bigger 1.10 - nice car 😎
Thank you for your great reviews. Did you have any problems with the hexes stripping out on the wheels? I keep killing my stampede 4x4 lol. Are there a lot of upgrade part for this truck?
Got mines last week. Ran pretty smooth out of the box, but after about 3 (2s) packs, the servo died. Reached out to AE and they are shipping me a new one. Also, haven't broken an arm (yet). LOL! But I did want to ask you, does the radio have endpoint adjustments?
Hey if you're bored with the lockdown and all would you be willing to pick up one of the 100$ ish touring kits from 3 racing and do a review on it? I was thinking of picking one up as a cheap way of dabbling with on road during the lockdown.
Great review. My son and I love your videos. In the owner's manual it says to tighten the servo saver to a 2.5mm gap. If you tighten that more will it increase the steering? If so is it okay/safe to tighten it more than that. I'm running a ProTek 170SBL in 1 MT10 and a ProTek 130T in my sons. Thank you!
I may have just been unlucky, but right after I bought mine the right front shock came apart and I lost my spring, after I put it back together the I at the end of the shock rod stripped out and it came apart again. I have replaced the shock with another one for the time being to see if it holds up for now, but after I drove it full speed for the first time I hit the breaks and one of the rear tires came off. I love the truck but it seems to be causing some troubles on the durability end.
Hi guys. Thinking about this one for my son. Is there a replacement for the Helion arms you mention in the video? Seems to be out of stock/reach for me. Thank you!
Hey, do you want to know how good/not very good something is? Go and make sure you watch the reviews of this guy here. It is totally worth it and awesome! Razor RC is my No.1! Hey there, listen I'm not someone that posts any comments, it's just not my thing (because who cares what I think, you know) BUT IN THIS CASE, Razor RC, you have to be one of the best, maybe even THE BEST reviewer IMO. Such decent explanation of the positive and negative points. And I think that you are the one person that I would watch EVERY review of the stuff found in the RC world, why? Because you just hit the nails on the head. And I mean EVERY TIME. So yeah, the only downside is the fact that you don't make reviews for much and much more different RC cars, so Traxxas, Arrma, Losi come on guys send this Awesome Reviewer your trucks and you are sure to be reviewed at a honest and almost perfect way so that you can get your cars reviewed by the No. 1 reviewer of this day and age. If you want your model to go and get a honest rating/score and get feedback on the things you might want to look into to improve some of the weaknesses of your product, be sure to send Razor RC your models to be reviewed. I know for a fact that I'll be watching them all. Greetings from the Netherlands MacSpacey out!!
Good review. I wish there was a handling rating. How well it steers, does it traction roll often, how well does it jump and land? From experience Traxxas has the most sluggish steering trucks, yet flips over from moderate steering. I think Tekno has the sharpest steering, yet least traction rolling issues, best jumping, landing and durability, but I do want a smaller monster and this mt10 might just be it.
Hey Razor RC, where did you get the Helion replacement arms? I can't find them anywhere online, except for Australia and a suspected phishing site from Canada. Thanks dude
I broke mine in the first 2 minutes of ownership running 3S lipo! Been sitting in the box for 2 weeks now, and it'll be another 2 before they arrive from the other side of the world.
What would you do to this truck if you were going to take it to the track, similar to the Granite video you did. My Granite has been taken over by the family so I'm thinking about picking up another truck, perhaps the MT10. It might be fun to drive on practice days at the track when they open.
Gil Losi Jr owned Helion yes, but I'm not sure he completely designed this truck? I'm sure he put in his race history to help the design a bit for sure
I don't think he completely designed the truck either, but there are a lot of small details that a normal overseas manufacturer wouldn't have done that I think he gave his input on. IMO, this truck is better designed than the Granite, Stampede, or Tenacity. I forgot to give you and KORH a shoutout in this video, I know both of you guys liked the Avenge and helped me decide to buy this! 👊👍
Razor rc love the video. I went down to my local hobby shop to check out the rival. I did a lot of measuring, looking at adjustments and geometry, but as the bare bones of the truck it is a stampede 4x4. I like the body rims/tires center diff, shocks are nice, drive shafts are nice, like the position of the servo compared to the stampede but to me it’s a exact match of a stampede. Only thing I did not do was drive it. Out of the box this is a really nice truck but after my modded stampede I cannot come to buy it. Does it drive a lot better?
Any info on an aftermarket body that will fit these? I don’t like the rival body. I have the helion and its about shot. Im not very savvy on these things but its loads of fun. Thanx for any info.
So Gil makes the truck for his company. Then Helion goes under, AE saves the line by purchasing to bolster their RTR offerings. How does that translate into Gil making a model for AE? Not following the click bait logic here.
No, I don't think so. I think they just got the composite formula wrong, the ones that broke has more glass content than normal, which makes them stiffer, but more brittle.
@@fgarcia2277 Yeah something seems different as the helion avenge arms seem to take a beating while the rival mt10 arms seem to be really weak. Congrats on the new rc bud. I love my helion avenge! I'm going back and forth about grabbing a kaiju atm.
good vehicle, handles well, a little bit dated in the design, cheapish metals used in it. not bad overall, I have some reviews of a MT Pro I built which is almost the same.
✌🏻😎🏴Do you know anyone with a team associated pro 4 sc10? What year did the MT rival get released? Will they update the MT after the release of the team associated pro 4 sc10?
@@RazorRC I checked out your other comparison video 👍 makes sense! I picked up the brushed version for $179, so I plan to put a max10 combo in it. Would you go for the 80amp or 140amp esc. And I think I need the 3665/3200kv, is that what you recommend? Thanks!
@@aiwaloki heck yeah my first hobby grade rc was a jrx2 as well. I wish I still had it. I got my rc10t though haha. The problem with losi now is horizon hobbys. They killed that branding.
@@jeffbryner5355 I was racing a Hornet against RC10's and then the Losi JRx2 popped and i got it. Night and day difference. I remember soaring effortlessly across the track. Still have my Jrx2, restored and brushless upgraded. I agree, Losi is more of a brand name now.
300$ , five stars build , high quality ? ... with such crappy full plastic shocks ?? 🤔 This is not Team Associated rc10 quality ... its Thunder Tiger made in china rebadged car , with Team Associated sitcker on the box , and sold twice the price. 😉
@@RazorRC300$ is without battery and charger, so not really rtr. With better shocks, it becomes 350$... so I would get a 1/8 Hobao Hyper vse roller ( 220 bucks) and set good cheap electronic, ( 100$ brushless combo + 30$ radio) and for about the same price, you get a MUCH better car.... for example.
In all honesty it just looks lame , ugly and brittle🧐 I’d go for an 1/8 scale buggy over that dumb thing any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Buy a good condition used 1/8 roller for $250, spend another $150-$200 on good used electronics and you have way more value for a little more money😉
