Yeah, definitely had fun with it, especially towards the end. Lots of power on 4S to do most of what we need to do in a basher.

What diff tunings do they usually need? - AussieRC always reports the Corallys as 'twitchy' - this down to the diff tune?

@@FlyingPhilUK they are set up for racing, so, on the rough stuff, a little too responsive, tuning with usual oils sorts it out

@@jameslyons1978 seems I barely hear about Diff issues like I hear about Arrma diffs.

It's definitely more than capable on 4S, but does need a diff tune...

I love the Typhon 6s tires on my 3s Typhon. I run a Hobby Wing max 10 ESC and motor geared up to I think a 18th pinion and lowered with DHX Maximus shocks and the thing is INSANE. LOVE those tires. Just like the Talion Kitar's they become slicks once the tread wear down and grip just enough to drift a bit but keep traction.

Yeah, 6s is appropriate for a truggy.

I'd have to agree. When you see the 6S run you'll hear me say that 6S seems like it's almost too much for this car. Maybe for the Mats it's a better match, but for the buggies, 4S is plenty for most people and then some.🙂

@@AussieRCPlayground this is where 5s really needs to become more common. A few cars on the market are quick but leave a little to be desired on 4s and stupid on 6s. The redcat kaiju comes to mind.

Sadly, RC Carnage will not return any time soon. As long as we are in this pandemic and we don't have a place to run (yet), it's unlikely to make a return until maybe late this year when summer returns. And that's if we can find somewhere to run... Our old spot has been destroyed and is no longer usable, so we need a new place nearby and that's proving to be a challenge. 🤷‍♂️😩

Man I've been questioning that since first kronos v2 footage. I don't see anything special. Max 8, 2000kv 4274 motor. Nothing special driveline I can tell like limiting angles of axles to reduce parasitic loss. Actually pretty big angles with offset center driveline. My only guess is custom algorithms for esc.

I think they have almost identical electrics, so speed is just up to gearing and batteries really. I think you're wrong about it being superior, might be one day but not now. It's not as stable, composed or refined as the Typhon at all. People tend to like the new and think the "old" is boring, I get that, I'm the same. But in this case I'm not convinced. Just go back and watch Vas old clips of the Typhon V4! Different spot, yes, but hard not to be impressed really! Have a nice day!

I think it is mostly gearing. the Typhon is geared OOB for 6s - the stock 14t pinion is too small for 4s. Drop a 16t or 17t pinion, and the Typhon is great fun on 4s.

Thanks, I guess...? 🙃 Funny, some people love how I drive and say I'm actually quite good, but there's a few who seem to think otherwise. Not sure why that is, I've proven myself plenty of times racing against my friends and it's very rare that I break my cars because of bad driving, so... 🤷‍♂️ Meh. 😎

That's like saying; "I don't understand why people buy a microwave and then use it to warm up food". Well, what am I suppose to do with this buggy? Take it for slow walks in the park? LOL I'm just teasing, of course, but my job is to test these cars and find their limits, so I have to get to the point fairly quickly. 😉

Great choice. Still one of my favorite trucks I own, just a shame they're discontinued now.

@@AussieRCPlaygroundapart from the stock hingepin holders and servo saver it is very decent truck. I dont understand why ProLine didnt build on the platform and bring out a V2 etc. Maybe the sales numbers werent so good?!? I would like to see more high end basher KITS without electronics and with all the hopup parts as standard. Currently there is very little, if any choice in this segment. Im therefore eagerly anticipating the Sworkz Zeus V4 which is due out in March. Maybe you will be able to put it through its paces?
