For once I found a Y/T channel with whom opinions I can agree with, you talk a lot of sense with unbiased options . Your findings with corally are what I have found in comparison myself . A very truthful review my friend 👍
I think your criticism is fair. I was surprised at Corally's support. I bought a Team Corally Shogun V1 used, they offer a free package to upgrade your V1 to V2 if you can provide a receipt. I didn't have a receipt as I'm the second owner and I bought it used. They gave me a 77% off discount from $180 on this pack, and I received it from Belgium to NJ,US in 3 business days. I don't think anyone is doing that. Their customer support is excellent. I think they are just different cars with different design philosophies and goals. I like both. Thanks for your video
If I didn't have a TC I would have bought one after watching this video. Great comparison and thorough discussion on both. Totally agree TC have their issues but there has been some improvements between the gens that makes you believe they are trending in the right direction. Just hope they can do right to some of the folks that were the early adopters. Cross use of parts between gens would be huge.
@@ThatSwedishGuy I'm speaking from what ever improvements come down from the v3's to the v2's and v1's. I've used parts from the XTR which I would call a v2.1 at this point and there is a fair bit of XTR parts, you need to buy just to get some of the enhanced bracing to work. Almost to the point where I should have bought the XTR. I'm hoping that will not be the case for the v3's.
As far as my experience with Arrma they break often until you upgrade everything. And even then it takes some careful tuning of the diffs, shocks and chassis to get them to last in terms of bashing. If you drive them easy no problem. But if you want to jump them and send it you'll break every session. Often not making it through an entire battery. My Kraton 6S BLX came with no fluid in the center diff. The center diff literally blew out through the plastic case. And soon after the motor locked up. I had to wait 2 months to get warranty parts. By then I had already upgraded the diffs to metal cased diffs with heavier fluids. Imagine being new to rc. You buy a Kraton. You go drive it for the first time. And the motor locks up and the center diff blows up. Now I also own a TLR Typhon and a Big Rock. And those two have been great. But in my opinion all these brands have their flaws. And quality control is hit or miss with all of them. Do yourself a favor and learn how to work on your rc before you buy it. And the first thing you do when you buy one is take it apart and inspect the diffs, bolts and shocks.
I am new into rc for about 6 months, and last week a buddy of mine just bought his first rc and got the Kraton 6s exb, (less then ten minutes in) and in one very unlucky bad crash and the rear diff split in two and collateral damage was unknow until taken apart. Long story short, crashes happen, and fixing them seems to be a part of the hobby, and I like it tbh. In a world of use it, break it, throw it away...fixing and maintaining is a breath of fresh air. Have fun with it, is my opinion. They all have good and bad points, and everyone drives them different, as you said. Cheers
I have 2 6S Arrmas. Whenever I break a part I order at least 2 of the replacement, at least for things like plastic parts, diff gears, and wing mounts. Basically ive bashed Arrmas long enough to know what parts are most likely to fail, and I keep enough on hand to get through a period of unavailability. You also usually save on shipping this way, order online and ask for combined shipping if it isn't the default. Local Hobby Shops have been pretty good to me, often they have had parts in stock that I wasn't able to find online. Always call ahead and have your part numbers ready.
RE: 30-40% faster on the Corally. I think Spektrum limit their electronics at the ESC or possibly the receiver side. When i added a Dumbo Rcvr and radio to my Kraton 6S, it was noticeably punchier, faster to full throttle and quicker on the brakes. I'm not sure where the limitor is, or what it is, but Spektrum definitely have something governing it.
@@Ryndel i'm running a Firma in my old Typhon 3S, basically swapped the Vorteks Firrma ESC with the BLX esc and both running Dumbo receivers right now.. IMHO it makes a difference & pretty much removes the cogging. Cheers! and keep me posted!
@@rogueFactor Would you always remember to set your throttle endpoints out the box? That always seems to make a difference getting rid of the lag and I'll be the first to admit sometimes I have forgotten to do it on my pre run checklist.
Team Corally 185amp ESC vs. Arrma 150amp ESC. Maybe also some faster gearing with the Team Corally. Put that Team Corally ESC in the Arrma and see what you get in speed increase.
Put the team corrally motor and esc on the outcast and see if theres any difference. Do some testing to shine light on this. If its indeed the esc and motor ima buy that and jam it on my mojave exb
The Corally system in my K6S EXB is nutty. I had to drop down to a 12t pinion just to keep it controllable. I had max6 systems in K6Ss before & it blows them all away. The system blew up the center diff in my v1 Dementor within seconds of the 3rd run. I never really used it after that. My v2 Kronos is still going but I had to beef it up a little. The stock suspension in general is REALLY bad.
Yessss, The ESC in the Corally is NOT just a rebranded Max8, it's hopped up, the Firma 150 or Blx 185 is a slight step down to the 150, and an even bigger step down to the blx 185,both those ESC are fine, but the Torox 185 is the most powerful 6s RTR ESC out there period 😎👍
@@philthyco1 it's just a more powerful ESC. Same gearing in both and the Torox 185 will beat the Firma 150 or the Blx 185, it's NOT a rebranded Max8 and the Firma 150 is closest to a Max8. I have spoken to Corally directly on this.
I have to correct what I previously thought about Team Corally Muraco being faster thsn an Arrma Talion. Firstly, after spending some more time with the Muraco I can safely say I won't buy another Team Corally vechile again. I initially thought it was great until literally things started prematurely wearing or completely breaking. After a half dozen drives the vechile looked like it had been through a war despite doing some fairly light to medium driving of it. No bashing whatsoever, it would not hold up. In addition, in terms of speed, with the stock setup it can only accept up to a 16 tooth pinion gear. You have to change to a smaller spur gear to go any larger. A 16 tooth gets you to about 62 mph. The Talion on the other hand, with the stock spur gear can accept a wide array of pinion sizes. All the way up to at least a 23 tooth. Using a 21 tooth pinion I was achieving 71 mph. A 23 tooth is gonna push the speed to at least 75 mph if not closer to 80 mph. I am not certain, but I would assume that if you changed it to a 46 tooth from the stock 50 or 52 tooth spur, perhaps even faster speeds. I order. Maybe speeds are faster with the Team Corally after changing to a 46 tooth but not stock. The other issue is the major slop in the suspension and steering making it brutal to control. Not a brand I will be buying again. They need to do a ton to get to Arrma's level. To be fair though, maybe I just got a bad vechile. That is definitely possible.
I have the shogun mainly to race around my track it’s fantastic great handling car with some tweaks and very fast not much can beat it,as you said the performance is outstanding on 4s you really don’t need 6s on these cars
@@gunmanjack3975 my advise use what you got until it stop working then think about upgrades and when you upgrade go with the max6 not the max8 …. It’s a lot better and with small cost difference
I hope my friend doesn’t see this. He just bought the Notorious and I have the Dementor. I tried to tell him that the Dementor is crazy powerful. I guaranteed him it’s one of the most powerful 6s vehicles on the market today. Now we have to race. I will feel like I’m victimizing him lol.
That would be the v1, the V2 have some needed upgrades but if your lucky you might be able to get the free service pack. Search "team corally push your limits"
The speed difference is the pinion input in the diffs … the arrma runs a 10:42 the corally runs a 17:46 so there’s the explanation of the extra speed from the corally … but the arrma is built way better
I picked up my Outcast 6s EXB brand new for 469$ on sale. So I’m trying to find the best ESC and motor for it, price wise at the moment. Seems the Corally is the best.
All I can say is I've broken a bunch a stuff in my noto. Fun truck yes but at this point it's an aftermarket truck not arrma. How many times have u ran that arrma out of curiosity?
Very interesting vid ! What im taking from this is put a the Corally power system in the Arrma 😅 ....that has got me thinking 👍Great comparison vid #realtalk
@@brutallyaverage8293 yeah, not sure what's going on. I can program everything with my HW card, except the 150A Firma. Maybe I have a different firmware on mine.
@@mrchimera2001ify I know soon as I said that I checked 😆, I had over 400 in my kart ended up just getting the esc , which I already regret but I have get to some repairs parts I already have see what I want do , I shouldve got the motor too though ,
@@mrchimera2001ify for while I was checking every day and leaving my email , I get 4 500 in kart than say myself I can order new rc for what paying for parts
I don't get how a reference to Dementia should be a scarry reference to a stunt car. Corally really messed up those product names. The 'Sketer' literally means 'the farting men' in Dutch.
While I typically agree with most of your commentary in a majority of your videos I have to disagree with you on the support/maintenance category. Parts availability is so much more plentiful on the Arrma side. From online stores like Amazon to eBay and and FB Marketplace there is very little shortage of Arrma parts. Plus a good majority of brick and mortar hobby shops carry Horizon products and parts. I think you may have been just throwing Team Corally a bone in this category.
Fair enough, this was done last year when a lot of Arrma parts were hard to get due to supply chain issues and for awhile it was impossible to talk to anyone there. That's changed this year, and all the videos I've done this year rates Arrma higher in support because they fixed the problem.
I hear a lot of people from the US saying parts are easier to come by for corally over here (UK) this simply isn’t true arrma has much better availability here (British company) and upgrades don’t really exist for corally here at least 🤷🏻♂️
The xtr is a disaster in the front end. You have to fit the arrma kraton steering hubs, balls, links like almost of the front end. Like when people say its not a replica it isnt yes at first but when arrma parts fit like if arrma made it. Kinda sus
