Instead of arguing about which style prevails I think it makes more sense to draw from them to make your grappling style more complete. I"m a judo practitioner but whatever your grappling style is: I don't think you can call yourself "proficient" unless you can defend against other grappling styles. And the only way to do that is to observe, study and train!
something tells me that dude is not a purple belt in bjj. Either he goes to a school where you pay your fee and rank up or thats a false belt. I've never seen a purple belt with such lack of technique.
I have done Judo and wrestling and currently BJJ and I keep on realizing that lying on your back is dangerous. Pulling guard is the worst way to start dominating your opponent.
the ref forced the fight standing, if the ref would have let them work on the ground it might have been a different story. either way, great fight and props to both fighters and props to both sports.
Absolutely brilliant display!! BJJ is great but I think BJJ guys are seriously weak on standing, throws and take downs, I think every bjj person should add a touch of judo to their skills and be unbeatable!

pra competição em chão porém em luta em pé deixa mt a desejar, o sambo é mt bom pra luta em pé.

It's good that there are no time constraints in the Octagon, but this has also led to the situation when a lot of dudes turn the ground game into a freakin' chess match.Won't work for you so well in the street - that's why you NEED reasonable time constraints to be applied, otherwise your favorite martial art will degenerate to martial sport, and then to just sport, period - not much more useful for self-defence than, say, ping-pong skills.
I just want everyone to know that a women could take a crow bar and slam either one of thoses guys balls or they could face a giant of a man, and nothing they learn can deal with sheer power a man who benches in the vicinity of 400 pounds. A sumo wrestler would throw them around like rag dolls and a few tiny dogs could cause mayhem. plus the guy in white could have kicked him straight in the head while he was getting pushed around at any moment. Fightes who know nothing are unpredictable etc...
boxing for middle and close range, TKD & Muay Thai for long middle and close range, bjj and wrestling for ground game and grappling and last but not least, a gun.
Não tem sentido nenhum o lutador de jiu-jitsu se submeter a essas regras do sambo, quando o jiu-jitsu inicia uma tomada de posição o.lutador de sambo sai correndo do tatame e a luta se inicia de pé, no centro do tatame, se fosse em uma competição de jiu-jitsu o lutador seria desclassificado ao fugir do tatame. O sambo conta ponto a queda, no jiu-jitsu o principal é a finalização no chão, se o atleta de sambo pode sair correndo da finalização saindo do tatame e não é penalizado por isso, a luta não tem sentido para o lutador de jiu-jitsu

BJJ will lose here because they base the fight on Sambo standards lol but it was clear the BJJ guy dominated the fight. The Sambo guy couldn’t even make any dominant moves. His back was always grabbed and gotten by the BJJ guy.
If I remember correctly both teams did very well without one dominanting the tournament. When I put these up the BJJ forums were posting videos only when BJJ won.

Sempre tive a impressão que o Jiu-jitsu requer muita resistência o que esse BR tem e muita, o sambo é massa, mas nã exige o mesmo que o Jiu-jitsu penso eu, o lutador tava de lingua de fora! 😅 O lutador BR ia direto pra cima!
Numa luta de 1 a 1 sempre ganha o sambo porque é um arte marcial completo con chute e tudo.. o Jiu-jitsu maise defesa pessoal por isso não foi fácil vencer ao Jiu-jitsu que se liberou de 3 finalizações

Resultado não condiz nem um pouco com a luta. Russo só se defende e espera pelo juiz, o máximo que o Russo faz é girar o corpo e mesmo assim cai na meia guarda do Jiu ou em uma posição inútil pro Sambo. Jiu Jitsu deu um show nessa luta, o cara do Sambo, além de apavorado, trêmulo, desgastado, sem saber o que fazer, cansado, tomou tombo e aprendeu como se luta no chão.
Para mim deu empate, até porque, ninguém finalizou ninguém, não podemos validar a regra do jiujitsu e nem do Sambo. Devemos ser justos no resultado pois o adversário ( Sambo) também ofereceu perigo.
I don't recognize the style of BJJ being used. Hardly if ever attempted a mount, hesitant to grapple, never saw any real attempts at submission. I would venture to say he was more of a judo practioner. I realize there are many forms, it's just this one is strange to me. No offense intended.
To me BJJ guy won and was more active on the ground going for submissions. Every time BJJ guy is working on his submission attempt the ref stood them up.

Já vi que tu não entende nada artes marciais o sambo e uma mistura de Jiu Jitsu com judo e luta greco romana não existe uma arte melhor que a outra o lutador e que faz a diferença no combate se liga cara ta falando merda

ficou nas costas mais n fazia nada, pois o cara impedia que o jj prossegui-se com os golpes ou seja estava neutralizado, foi uma luta medíocre.
Mas a sua luta predileta não é superior. Infelizmente, uma família de lutadores famosos aqui no Brasil, vendeu uma imagem de invencibilidade da luta, mas se esqueceram, que já existia outras lutas agarradas. Mas enganaram direitinho o povão, "torcedor de futebol " ( Senso comum) com a lorota que o "BJJ" seria uma indestrutível só que se esqueceram que se envenenaram com o próprio veneno. Todos os lutadores de outros estilos , também treinar lutas agarradas. Antes. O jiujitsu era temido pela maioria , hoje, é apenas uma luta eficiente como qualquer outra. Simples assim.

В жизни ползающего запинали бы ногами, если это драка. Это просто не работает. Представляешь, в переулке к тебе такой ползёт на 5 точке )) кроме смеха ничего не вызовет и презрения.
@@andyz7711 согласен, арматура в жизни эффективнее. Самбо красивее! Но это чисто субъективно. Выглядит джитцер не очень: походит , ложится на пол, раздвигает ноги. Простите меня джитцеры. Я честно не самбист и даже не борец. Оранжевый пояс по дзюдо у меня, случайно заработанный, так дети тренировались и я чтоб не скучать на скамейке...

Проблема ее в том что да, я мог уронить любого, но ползать в грязи не готов был плюс в драке если ты упал, то это очень плохо, просто нельзя и если ты пойдешь в партер то другой хулиган тебе по затылку даст. И вот ловлю я на болевой... Дальше что? Ломать руку? Душить? Тоже не вариант... Бросить и по роже пару раз самое оно.
@@wladimirs7166 да это понятно, вот только бросок с прогибом на асфальт травмоопасен для обоих :) и если в голове будут крутиться варианты, он будет внизу списка, проще дать по лицу.
bo, Judo, Catch Wrestling, and stick with it, love it and live it. You don't have to train everything, but roll with solid guys from the other schools to know how to deal with them.
hahaha do not ever say a bjj practicioner has lost because thoseguys are said they are practicing the best fighting technique and once they see a bjjp flying to the ground and being controlled they all will be outraged.
@01Proust i think theyre both very good in their own right and peoples ability to play them to real life attack situations , though admittedly i dont know two much about either , though the majority of fights would be on untrained drunk people who want to fight
@tristansilva That's the best strategy. Disrupt your opponent's flow. That reduces the opponents will to play the match and do fancy moves. Always try and stall when you aren't in control. The referee would stop the match and you will once again gain control.
Again, it's fine in the training situatuion: plenty of time to re-think your strategy and such, develops stamina, etc. But for competition... spare me.
I was thinking the exact same thing man. I find it hard to believe the bjj guy to be mid level if he crosses his legs with back control. I really was hoping the fight would finish there.

if BJJ had throws like judo, insted of grabbing a leg or throwing yourself on the floor, it would be an unstopable system. lack of throws makes it less of what it could become
O lutador de jiu jitsu pra competir com outras artes marciais, treinam apenas jiu jitsu. Lutadores para competir contra o jiu jitsu treinam suas respectivas artes marciais mais o jiu jitsu, porque sabem que não teriam chance.
O sambo tambem tem tecnicas de luta no chao, debido a que o sambo tambem descende do jiu jitsu japones (mesmo que o BJJ e o Judo), os sambistas nao precisam de realmente treinar jiu jitsu para bater eles. Pesquise mais sobre o sambo antes de falar dele. Nao seja arrogante, amigo.
@bnsaints Jiu Jitsu was a great form of the samurais and the gracies improved a lot on it i think, after all Royce had ~ a 150-2 pr 3 win/loss record so that shows something, all difference in opinions though.
I’m not a fan of grappling cos MMA rules favour grappling a lot (no strikes to the back of the head, no elbow, no knee to the head, etc). In a street fight anything goes and the rules won’t be there to protect anyone. In close grappling range a striker cannot throw punches or kicks but elbows and knees are very possibly most of the time
