He wasn’t surprised. That was him predicting what would happen next. And he was able to get there so fast, because he started running directly towards that area before Chigiri did. And while Chigiri had to dribble and guard the ball a bit first, which slows you down a lot, Isagi could just run full speed from the beginning.

@@justjoking4223 I mean, that's what I was thinking, but it wasn't really shown properly. The way it was shown in the anime was that he was surprised that Bachira passed the ball to Chigiri (since he wasn't even in the mindset of playing anymore). So his "anticipation skill" could have only started then. But in that case, he would need a head start in some way, because he is way slower. Again, this is why I was saying an overview would help to spot this.
