If this is supposed to be the 1980s then the RC-135W needs a total rework. What was shown was it's current 2023 configuration. In the 1980s it still had TF-33 low bypass turbofan engines, a much different antenna array and it still belonged to SAC. The OF marking on the tail didn't appear until after SAC was disestablished in 1992.
Getting vibes of if Operation Able Archer had gone hot... cool video... Edit to name the Operation correctly should read as Able Archer and not just Archer...
First, Able Archer was a command post exercise. No movement of forces actually took place. Second, don't believe what you read on Wikipedia, much of it about the military is total bs. Third, the RC-135 was just that, the Rivet Joint aircraft was still in development. Fourth, everything depicted actually represents the Reforger series of annual exercises, which took place annually in the 70's and 80's, and looks really accurate. It would have been nice to see some fighter aircraft, 8n particular F-4 Fifth, great teaser, I'm awaiting the rest!!!
