To anyone else considering this, keep in mind that if your monitor's mounting holes are recessed into the plastic (as on many Dell monitors, for example), this VESA extension plate will not fit. It can still be done, but you'd need to screw in some spacers to make room. Ergotron has something called "Spacer Kit for Recessed Display Interface" which would probably do the trick.

I did a test of mounting a Mac Mini in the same fashion: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E-xQgUkP9cw.html I don't know if it is the best way to do it but it seemed to work okay.

@@Rickmakes No luck with my attempt here with the Mac Mini mounting to the VESA bracket points on the back of my Phillips 32 inch curved screen. The Sabrent bracket covers the HDMI ports and power socket making it useless :-( That HumanCentric gadget might do the trick so I can mount it to one side...

OMG that was bugging me so bad. It also bugs me he put it on the side with the arm vs the other side which would have no issues with the mount swing arm.

Should have mounted the nuc to the right of the arm instead of the left. Way more room

There is definitely more room but it would be more likely to tip over since I am using the stand. If I was using the grommet mount, that wouldn't be an issue.

will this HumanCetnric VESA mount fit into 22" monitor so the NUC is not sticking out? I wish there were dimensions there

I'm currently using another Intel NUC on my second monitor but the NUC both support dual monitors. One had mini-HDMI and mini-DisplayPort. The other has HDMI and VGA.

Is it magnetic? I could not see you screw the nuc down.

The NUC has two screws sticking out the bottom that slip onto the plate you mount onto the back of the monitor (or the extension plate).

How do you power on the NUC with out reaching behind the monitor?

I reach behind the monitor. When using it regularly, I just leave it on and let it go into low power mode. Then I can wake it with the keyboard.

This is what i never understand about the included VESA mount with every NUC.... I mean, how are you supposed to mount your monitor after you use up the vesa mounts for the NUC lolol????

I feel the same way. This plate was the missing piece of the puzzle. Seems like the NUC could have come with it in the box.

cheap workplace monitors which are the target for Intel NUCs usually have stand and VESA mount separately so you don't need the extension solution showed in this video

@@smicaptures5299 This is specifically for people who want to use a third party VESA mount like an adjustable arm, wall mount, etc... and mount the Intel NUC. It is often not needed if you are using the stand that came with the monitor.

@@Rickmakes I was just explaining to the commenter that most workplace monitors don't need this workaround since he said he can't understand why nucs comes with vesa mounts As for your video my comment wasn't to criticize it in the contrary I found your video because I was looking for a way to mount a nuc on a gaming monitor which came with the stand using the vesa mount (they make them like that so you can swivel height and rotation adjustments unlike workplace monitors)
