Great vid mate. Just done this. First time I didn't unwind the base, and like you said it didn't go back to 0. I have since realised this is because the rca cable, and potentially the cable tie catches on the metal plate. If you look inside the side as you wind it down, you can see it hit the plate. This means that thicker rca cables won't allow the tonearm to go as low.

Exactly right and why it's best to use the right size cables.

Great video as usual. I'd love watching a tutorial made by you about pitch calibration and how to line-up all the dots, especially at -3.3% and 3.3, since there seem to be different opinions about the chance of having them all lined up...

Thanks for sharing. At 8 minute when you put the lock plate in my height doesn't move anywhere and if I remove it, it works fine. As soon as I insert it, stops moving even if it's unlocked and without 2 screws. I don't see where the problem is, any idea?

Screw the base all the way down them back it off 2 full turns them put the locking plate on with the 2 screws 👍🏻

@@decktech9684 Thanks for reply. I'm doing exactly that, but as soon locking plate is inserted, the height adjustment stops turning. It's like it's locked although "lock" is not touching the arm base. I spent 2 hours now on that thing :/ I'll assemble my other tonearm tommorow and see if it has the same issue.

@@deniskrajnc7384 also make sure the height adjustment ring is not below 0 put it at 1 before tightening the screws

@@decktech9684 Hey, actually the problem was I got them sandblasted and powdercoated and little paint went into threads so I had to clean it really thoroughly with a nail like tool and wire. Really took me a lot of time to do it all. Those are multi threaded so it depends at which location you start screwing it on... I couldn't start it at position 2 like manual says, but whatever as long it works. It has a little wobble if I put it higher, only at lowest position is fixed. Maybe metal expanded a bit... (i got them with a tape between the threads, now I know why). By the way do you know how to take off rubber of the platter under, thinking about sandblasting and powdercoating them too?
