I bought the 507 monochrome for our Monaco and it wasn't easy to setup. I had all of the sensors initially recognized by the monitor, but it took some doing, as a few of the sensors did not want to be recognized in the position I had placed them on the monitor, but they all eventually were recognized. By the time I installed them on the coach, I had three sensors that weren't doing anything. I waited 20 minutes (instructions say 15 minutes) and nothing. I ended up deleting all of the sensors from the monitor and starting all over again. This time all but one were recognized. I took the battery out and tested it and it was fine, so I reinstalled it and tried again....one hour later the monitor finally beeped and registered the sensor. Everything now works fine, but what a PITA.
We added a third vehicle and we had to watch this again to make the changes, thanks so much but if you add a new video it could explain how to add a boat to a camper and a toad, and how the tst knows when the boat is being hauled not the toad car? Thanks so much
My wires for the repeater is hot all the time. Will the repeater turn off after no use or will it stay on 24/7? What should I do if it needs to shut off until needed. TST 507 RV 4 C install in a travel trailer. It was pre wired for a lippert system. I took of the mount for that and that was where I was going to put my tst
Thanks for a good informative video. Questions: What are the defaults for high/low pressure & temperatures? Is this procedure the same for a black & white monitor? I have 80 psi cold pressure on my Rv tires so what high & low settings should I use? Thanks
Hi Max! When setting your parameters for your high/low we recommend 10% below your cold pressure for your low setting and 20%-25% above your cold pressure for your high setting. The TST will come preset at 158 degrees for your high temperature setting and we recommend not to adjust this as per TST's recommendations. So to answer your question if your cold psi is 80 you would want to set your low at 72 psi and your high between 100 and 106 psi. I hope this answers your questions.
I’m trying to reprogram my TPMS because I have been tires and got the sensors all mixed up. I’ve deleted them (thank you for that video as well). However, I’m at the stage where I need to set the PSI. I keep getting mixed information (or I’m just not extrapolating it correctly). Some say I should inflate my 5th wheel tires to about 5-10 pounds below max (max is 110psi for me) since I’m towing and they’ll heat up and this will account for that heat. Others say always do the max the tire lists because they’re built to handle the extra psi from friction as I’m driving. Still others say to get each tire weighed, but this isn’t an option until I’m ever near one of those types of weigh stations. What is the best “rule of thumb”? I’m inclined to go with max on the tire sidewall. Thank you!!
Great question! The safest thing to do is to run at the max on the tire, unless you want to get weighed and apply the weights to your tire's psi chart which, as you said, isn't always the easiest thing to do. You should not reduce your psi to account for the increase that happens when the tires heat up while driving. Tires are built for that and the max psi takes that into account. If you reduce your psi to account for that, you are underinflated which can lead to a host of problems including a possible blowout. I hope this answers your question. Safe travels!
