Right?? When I first watched I was heartbroken for him, especially after seeing how tender hearted he is in the Colin ep. and how much effort he put in as Captain. Great cinematic moment.
Also it's what Jamie says to Dani when he takes the last gasp penalty at the end of the previous season to get them promoted back to the Premier League.
Jamie's sneaky grin as Sam helps him up is not only hilarious, but an adorable display of how much their relationship has transformed. We went from Jamie cursing Sam and slapping his hand away to the two of them hugging on the pitch. My excellent boys
Total 180. Jamie always supports Sam. First Non-Nigerian to support his protest. Volunteer to fix his restaurant. Put in Sam's number when he was playing. I think Jamie was wrong. I think Sam is his best friend
@@Phoenixstryke didnt Sam mention in the same episode (2x3) that McAdoo is a Nigerian and they must do it? Mcadoo has Nigerian parent but he's English. Jamie is totally different
I really loved this because they've been implying this whole time that Isaac is an actual monster when it comes to kick strength. During their training for Total Football, Isaac's corner kick blew off the field and into Wiggins' second story window.
I mean he's a beast, he's build like a tank, and that scene were he got angry at the fan and the way he was shaking in the lockers after, it's pretty scary, good thing he's a good lad
I like that isaac did it because he and Dani swapped roles before and Dani had seen the greyhound. Wasnt risking that again so he called in his replacement
@@Rudy04 the person your replying to is wrong about the second part. Dani already dealt with his trauma about the greyhound He is correct though that it is about them swapping before when they were prepping for total football.
I love the little details like when Sam gives Jamie a hand and they grin at each other. It’s just one example of how cohesive the team is when Jamie went from being a prick to Sam to being one of his best mates.
Also a throwback to when Sam was 'hurt' in Season 1 but it wasn't that bad...but he still stayed down because everyone was worried. Jamie overplayed it just a little here as well..
I like that they show how insufferable the therapist is. He manipulated Michelle into messing up Ted lasso, and is now a buzzkill when she and Henry are watching the game.
My heart dropped into my stomach seeing that kick. When the ref came out, I was so confused. Once you see the hole, then the replay, you can appreciate how real this looked! What a payoff to that window-shattering kick from earlier!
The most believable part of this scene is an English football fan taking a bullet to the face and not only staying in their seat, but cheering even louder with blood caked all over their face.
Dude, he says a penalty is 18 yards! I just can't believe there aren't any comments [that I have seen] addressing this. Seriously, go back and listen, he says "from 18 yards" when referring to a penalty. There. I've made a big deal over an insignificant mistake I've noticed in someone else's work. I interneted.
Love the Lithuanian flag (yellow, green, red) in the background at 0.21.. A nice touch of tribute to Jason Sudeikis's roots:). Esi laukiamas Lietuvoje, Džeisonai!
IRL, the guy who took that to the face would have been body surfed throughout the entire stadium while they chanted something cheeky. Love English footy!
Love how the team mascot is wearing a helmet after what happened to the previous dog & the man whose nose was bloodied by the ball is the same guy Rebecca had a date with in a previous episode.
all of the little details in this scene are so funny, roy kent crossing every single one of his fingers, higgins holding his wife out of the way after realising mckadoo is taking the penalty after he cracked the window earlier in the season - so perfect 🤣
Actually, the orig. Shot cuts away quickly afta the ball goes 'past' the net. The replay stays with the same angle longer & thus u do c the keepers belated reax ...
Compare the original shot 1:44 with the replay 2:44. The goalie acts completely differently. In the original shot, he hardly moves and remains standing. In the replay, he moves to his right and falls to the ground.
Don't bother, the writers of this show barely spent any time learning anything about the sport. Besides the fact that the crowd behind the net would see it go through the netting and would've cheered right after the shot, penalty shots are NOT taken from 18 yards out... that's the top of the box. Some people might think "so what, that's such a little detail" but it's the fact that these writers got paid to make this show and their incompetence or laziness at being able to fill in some details definitely stretches to everything else.
@@Adamdidit I recommended the show to people after watching Season 1. And then I only went back to watch Season 2 and 3 recently. I would've never recommended the show had I recognized the bait and switch. I'm not one who falls for having to like something forever just because I liked it before. Game of Thrones is a good example of this. Plenty of people still praise the entirety of the show despite it obviously declining dramatically in quality in Season 7 and 8. Some people just don't want to feel like they've wasted their time watching something that turned out to be garbage. Other people, well they simply like garbage, hence why Keeping up with the Kardashians is a show.
Anyone else notice the little flaw in directing? When McAdoo shoots the penatly in real time, the goalie doesn't dive but in the replay it shows that he does dive.
I could understand how we as viewers or the fans in attendance wouldn't think it went in at first........but you'd think Isaac would've been insisting the entire time that he scored instead of being surprised after the fact. 😆
@@spc2546 But it's not a change for him - he's the poster boy of fair weather fandom, he told Roy straight up that he supported whoever was winning, and that's Richmond.
The writers were so lazy and/or incompetent, they didn't care to learn that basic aspect of the sport while writing up the details of the script. James Cameron takes several deep sea trips to the Titanic, some actors take on the personality of their character for weeks before filming, these writers couldn't bother to ask a fan of the sport a simple question...
@@theoaure3774 Based on your negative puking all over the comments for this video, you sound like a wonderful person to talk to at a party. Completely missing the point of the series from what I can see, or maybe it touched you in a dark and sensitive place and you're just not capable of dealing with that kind of reality, so you need to enforce your own bitterness on it. Who cares about the technical specificity, it's not the point of the scene or the series. Stop staring at the ground and look up, man--the show is about people, not football. You're like a person who backs their car into another and blames the driver of the other car for parking where you want to back up. Completely irrelevant and petulant. Hope you find something to brighten your life, sound like you could use it.
Zoro’s scared of Danny’s kick, but im now more scared of Issac’s, that thing when through the net and had some distance to slow down before hitting that fan, imagine that hit point blank
I saw that done in real life! Albert McCann (Portsmouth) took a penalty at the Milton End at Fratton Park in the 70s and it did just that - went like a tracer bullet! Never even slowed, straight through the net like it wasn't there...
"This is madness from 18yds..." never picked this up during the show, but pen spot is not 18yds from the goal. It's inside the 18yd box. 12 yds away from the goal.
Isaac taking the penalty did seem strange on first watching did seem strange when watching, but I looked at the player stats in FIFA23 and Isaac's Penalty rating is 86 - second only to Jamie's 89. (Dani's is 82) Those are only stats we have so it is not as strange as it seemed. Did the writers look at the game stats?
@@JM-db8ez What?? I'm saying you would never have the CB take a penalty in real life. Looks like you just sought out every one of my comments and disagreed for the sake of disagreeing. You don't watch any football / soccer, do you? The OG comment is talking about how likely it is for Isaac to take a penalty and relied on the stats in a FIFA game for a fictional person. I just noted not only did they not care about the stats, the penalty is simply a story device, but it's also incredibly rare to have a player of his position take penalty kicks. It's even rare in shootouts. So once again you demonstrate that you focus on defending the show and its writers, even when they're not really being challenged in any way. You are part of the insipid general population that, once you deem you like something, you defend it forever... no matter how much it changes.
@@theoaure3774 Sergio Ramos has taken penalties. I feel like David Luiz took a penalty once but I might be wrong, don’t quote me on that. VVD starts penalty shootouts for Netherlands. Hell, Rene Higuita was a GK and he took penalty kicks. Though he was just a beast all around.
He got paid to read a script. He read the script. The writers of this show definitely seem like the people you'd want to avoid on a regular basis and the type of people who don't take criticism well. He just wanted to collect his paycheque.
@@theoaure3774 And they're people you want to avoid based on what exactly? They allow improv plenty of times, and I'm sure that no one is going to complain if, in the name of authenticity, he says it's 12 yards.
@@wvu05 Based on Season 3 and the clear woke theological propaganda. Crazy how the most ardent militant atheists of today are some of the most religious people I've ever met. They've supplanted their basic human desire for a dogma with postmodernism. > They allow improv plenty of times, and I'm sure that no one is going to complain if, in the name of authenticity, he says it's 12 yards. You're sooooo sure, yet a Premier League commentator didn't correct one of the most obvious errors ever... I can't say for certain, but I definitely would wager I'm more likely correct than you are on this matter.
@@wvu05 This guy (theoaure3774) has been crapping all over the comment section of this video. Really butthurt about the whole thing and dumping on the whole series. Doesn't like the show but goes out of their way to watch videos and crap all over it. Tells you something dank about their personality, doesn't it?
Supporters grps. Wil hang banners in the stands often. (Look @ the far left of screen. Nigerian (?) Flag, perhaps from a local grp. Of expatriates as an example) so possibly Richmond has a sm. Fan grp. In c-town who made the trip & brought their banner. /jus a theory
