It was a master class of power boxing by Crawford. I can't wait to see what's next for him. Crawford is a first ballot hall of famer.

"Cerebral calmness, things slow down for him" -- That stuck out to me too. You could see Crawford making calculations in the pocket, calmly deciding to take one shot so he could land two. I can't think of another fighter who keeps this level of cool, whose high ring IQ continues to problem-solve while they're getting punched like that. Most fighters known for their ring IQ set plans, engage, and then disengage, and they reassess once they've disengaged. Crawford doesn't have to disengage to keep thinking. Yes he's special in terms of his raw abilities and technique, but it's the fact that his computer keeps calculating in the middle of a flurry that makes him really rare imo.

I think Crawford knew even a little more than what his team knew. I don’t even think Bud’s own team knew exactly what Bud had in store for Spence. That's not true. There is even video on YT where Bomac said before the fight that it was going to be an easy fight and easier than other people think. It's on YT. Bomac is a truly a great trainer. He not only dissects boxers before the fight, he breaks them down during the fight. Listen closely to the sound footage of the fight on some videos. You can hear Bomac yell at Crawford to throw a particular punch or combinations, and Crawford follows that instruction. On the first knock down you can literally hear Bomac yell for Crawford to throw the cross when Spence stooped to throw a body shot. This is the first interview that I've seen since the fight, that specifically highlights & pinpoints what has captivated me most of Crawford. The mentality. The cerebral component of the fight that along with the technical skills of course, drive the performance that we witnessed. A masterful mind, able to execute with skill. I've taken notes on interviews of Crawford since the fight was announced, up to today, 8/3/23. All related to understanding his mentality, attitude, belief system & way of being regarding his preparation, the fight itself & his post fight interviews, up to those released today. They've all given me a blueprint for greatness, that begins in the mind first. Sensei Crawford is what I'm calling him now. The Black Panther too lol. & what was also fascinating for me about the fight, is that I don't think Bud was truly challenged enough by Spence to have to use all of his tools. I personally don't think I've seen all that Crawford can really do. & I wonder before he retires, if he'll be pushed to have to use all he has. I'm inspired. This must be what it felt like for those that got to watch & witness Michael Jordan in his prime...Cherish Crawford while we can. 🥋🎣👑🥊🧨🎯🎶🔥🥁💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐🎶💐💐💐💐💐💐💐🖤🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

Spence always keeps his head Center Everytime he throws a Jab to set up his Power left Hook. He never moves his head to throw bud off. That’s one of many skills he’s missing. TC read that perfectly and countered all night. Made it look easy. We seen that happened with Loma vs Haney. Loma caught Haney Every time with a leaping left Jab when Haney throw his. The talent he has to be able fight a whole fight in a stance that's not even his natural one and to dominate guys with it and elite guys like Errol. Errol just couldn't live with the accuracy and the speed he took his jab away he always had him off balance it was a masterclass of boxing.

What I hate since this fight is everyone making the excuses for spence before the fight it was Crawford won't fight spence the best never fight the best it's so close people picked spence then Crawford smash him and now it's oh spence was hurt too much too much weight cut something had to be wrong no it didn't what happened was Crawford showed he is so far ahead of the rest of these guys and the pound for pound king

When the 1st rd began I was looking at Spence's back foot once I saw him on it, I knew the fight was over, it's no way he could beat Bud coming forward either. To me Bud looked bigger than Spence like he filled into a Welterweight's body frame.

Teddy’s so on point. I was trying to think of a comparison and Joe Montana came to mind, how he’d see things that weren’t there yet. But Bud was also so composed and tracking everything with his eyes. When Spence lobbed in his bombs from a distance Crawford would respond and get to Spence first by shooting his rockets up close. Also, Crawford was uncanny with his ability to calmly step in to storm and drill those brutal jabs into Errol. I never saw such performance against such a great opponent.

Spence did a good job until Crawford calculated how to time Spence's jab and deflect it or absorb only a portion of it. Those eyes of Crawford never left the target.

Amazing analysis by Teddy Atlas... I fought guys with that vision and knew how to destroy them in close. But when they're always an eye-blink removed from being hit, his feet a soft whisper faster, and punches a quick breath more accurate... after a couple minutes, you knew you were in deep trouble.

First let me say Bud is terrific!! BUT nobody is going to tell me Spence didn’t look extremely fragile,I think those car wrecks hurt him beyond repair.Could he beat Bud before the wrecks? Probably not but Spence looks like a total wreck of a man.I’ve seen B class fighters give Bud a better fight.
@gladius1275

Crawford made him look that way. Spence’s basic pressure style and slower looping punches are custom made for a powerful, quick, counter punch with perfect timing like Crawford. He constantly even caught Spence coming forward for extra force on his shots. That is why Spence was so beat up and off balance. What was done to him was probably as confusing to him as it is to most of his fans. This reminded me a bit of when Mayweather opened up on and destroyed Arturo Gatti. No one could believe how easily he did that or even how it was possible to make Gatti like that bad, that amateurish. Spence being basic and slower, with one style and one gear made him custom made for destruction by Crawford, who is the perfect fighter to exploit that.

No lame excuses in boxing. Nobody said anything looked different in Spence's first few fights after the accident. He just ran into an all-time great boxer in Bud Crawford who demolished him. Bud's just better and on another level than Spence. That's it. Give Bud his well earned credit. He's 2x undisputed.

Speaking on the calmness Teddy touched on, I've seen that cold analytic focus in my old profession (Firefighting). Most people, even well trained seasoned vets were hampered by what I used to call tunnel vision firefighting. The danger and fear will pressure most people into a myopia where they can't function at their highest level. They miss things, can't recall specifics. They lose their ability to respond appropriately to new input and change their tactics on the fly. What was funny was that those same tunnel vision cats would think they were great Firefighters: and they were, as long as the sh*t didn't hit the fan. If it did, they were the first ones yelling, screaming, and generally creating more chaos. The 'killers' would get quiet and start making cold calculated changes in tactics. They would start giving clear instructions to those around them to salvage a bad situation, and usually save the day. The 'killers' all knew each other for what we were, and we had a different bond w/in the larger group. There are levels to every game, and the best just have an ability to stay calm and take on a challenge in a different way than just about everyone else.

Quite honestly, I think people are giving Errol too much credit. He pretty much only has 1 gameplan coming into a fight, and he doesn’t make infight adjustments. He doesnt move that well and his head doesn’t move at all. He needs work on footwork, head movements, and defense in general. Not to mention, he only throws 1-2 combos 70% of the time, and his punch selection ain’t great. I’m not saying he’s not a good boxer, but the skills that he’s missing are the ones that doomed him in this fight. And Errol gets hit flush quite a lot. I take nothing away from Crawford, he showed that he stands on a different mountaintop!!! It just looked like Errol didn’t belong in the ring with him, and never hand a chance of winning this fight. I’m mean, wilder had the best right hand, but fury hand the best 2 hands. And power in both. Speaking of, hey Teddy, why doesn’t anyone have Tyson fury in top5 p4p?

Thank you Teddy for talking about the eyes. Its the same eyes Inoue has. And Vergil hunter spoke about this very point. You don't need to be the most athletic, skilled or powerful boxer to win a fight when you can SEE everything infront of you. They react to their opponent, not wasting an ounce of movement. But this ability, reacting to your opponent only comes from being able to be COLD and CALCULATED in the ring. You don't hear the crowd, you barely hear your coaches. You zero in on your opponent, watch every little movement they make and react ACCORDINGLY. Nothing more, nothing less. What Crawford, under the bright lights, is scary. Do not get on the wrong side of Crawford.
