Can we give a big thanks to Mr Roosevelt for going out of his way and recording his old speech in 2020

Thank you for this, I just found your channel. Theodore Roosevelt is my absolute hero and this speech specifically has made a great impact on my life. To me, hes one of the greatest men to have lived and has done more for this country than any living president today. If he was alive today, I would vote for him in a heart beat. Teddy Roosevelt makes me thrive to be the best man I can be. Bull Moose party 2024!

I appreciate this, thank you. I remember awhile back I looked up a reading of the strenuous life before, here on youtube, but all I found was half-felt, indifferent, and silly sounding readings. Nothing of the character of Roosevelt. You did the speech justice, reading it seriously like a president would. I find this speech refreshing, and somewhat dauntingly important. I certainly don't claim to be a champion of the supposed 'strenuous life', but I do find myself admiring it and appreciating it. Honest labor with your hands and forthrightness. It struck me when He said, "woe to us if we fail to perform them......and be content to rot by riches in ignoble ease within our borders, taking no interest in what goes on beyond them, sunk in a scrambling commercialism; heedless of the higher life, the life of aspiration, of toil and risk, busying ourselves only with the wants of our bodies for the day" It's sounds almost prophetic of the current age for real, for me.

Thank you for the marvelous presentation. However, the admonition to stay home 40:08 is contrary to the strenuous life.
