Tedeschi Trucks Band performs "Sweet Inspiration" live in Albany, NY in 2012, with George Porter Jr. on bass. This was the last song of the last show of the year for TTB in 2012.
Thank you Jesus. I wanna quit my job, climb in the VW micro bus and follow them on tour. We just need a sermon and a collecion and it would be just like "church." Susan seems to have he most fun doing Gospel
Lucky you! She is among the best, add her amazing husband on guitar & the combined band & we easily have some of the greatest music made today, as well as all time!
Patty Bradford---try to find the Studio version of the same song by "Derek Truks" It is even 100 times nicer. And the song has been covered by many others. Rita Coolidge, for ex.
I need your sweet inspiration I need you here on my mind every hour of the day Without your sweet inspiration The lonely hours of the night just don't go my way A woman in love needs sweet inspiration And honey that's all I ask, you know, that's all I ask from you I gotta have your sweet inspiration You know there's just ain't no telling what a satisfied woman might do When you call me, baby, baby It's such a sweet inspiration The way you call me darlin', darlin', darlin' Sets my heart to skating And if I'm out in the rain, baby And in a bad situation You know I just reach back in my mind And then I find your sweet inspiration Sweet inspiration oh what a power And I've got the power every hour of the day I need your sweet inspiration, yeah To go on livin' to keep on givin' this way Sweet, sweet inspiration Sweet, sweet inspiration
Patty Bradford They are absolutely one of the best live touring bands right now. I've seen them twice - this last tour was particularly amazing. They just killed it. Saw the Derek Trucks Band in a small venue in the past as well. He's something else. Together with his wife and her voice and this great band.. so great.
Patty Bradford ...Originally recorded by The Sweet Inspirations in 1967 led by Cissy Houston , Whitney's mother with Myrna Smith , Sylvia Shemwell and Estelle Brown. Recorded at American Sound Studio in Memphis.
I watched them perform on here but never heard of them....which one is the lady in black married to??? I guess I just know the oldie groups....because I am a senior citizen..............OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!
Sorry that in 3 years nobody answered you. Derek has never used a pic. There's a great video of him as a 13 year old playing Layla with a slide and no pic. Some of the greatest players didn't use pics, Jeff Beck among them. Many famous players did, like Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton. I guess it's a matter of what you get used to. I've tried to play a little without one, but for me, it's difficult. Hope that helps.
She is all about Gospel. She has said in interviews if she could only do one genre of music it would be gospel and she got her professionAal start in a touring Gospel group. This is an awesome performance.
