trucks has changed the way i think about the instrument. he can switch between standard and slide effortlessly mid-solo these days, so he doesnt have to make compromises between the styles. and then check out 8:00, where he swells a pinched harmonic and slides up an octave...unreal, and its just a fill. never seen a more inspiring musician

+richard jones You are correct to a point. Derek Trucks played with the Allman Bros. Band from 1999-2008 and he was on tour with Eric Clapton for 3 years after that. He played that the Crossroads concerts 3 times and Rolling Stone Magazine voted him one of the top 100 guitarist in America several years in a row. He also won a Grammy Award after he and Susan hooked up and won for the best blues album in 2011 (presented in 2012). Where you are absolutely correct is their music doesn't fit a genre that gets radio play. I was fortunately to know an individual that owns a music store that would play his new music for me and I got hooked early on. Didn't mean to ramble, thought you might enjoy the background.

Beautiful rendition of John Prine's song. Susan's voice is delightful.

Always come back to this one when I need a pick-me-up. That trombone solo is killer, as is the rest of the performance. Thanks for the video.

Susan is the best soul singer since Aretha. And I believe she takes more joy in it.

What a voice. Great renditon of John Prine's song. Bonnie Raitt re-defined it but this version is spectacular. Never saw a flute or trombone solo coming either.

Nice one, Pete. Apart from those tossers, we were definitely on the right side of the Albert for this show. What a wonderful player Derek is. His playing is unique and sends shivers down my spine every time. :)

Has anyone noticed how she doesn't play the end of the chorus chords right? I'm a pedant. This is beautiful.
