#3: Drinking played a huge part into his death, if he wasn't so drunk he wouldn't of died. #2: I feel bad for him, but he was stupid as hell. You almost died one and you go out wanting to get your van out after he was told it was in bad shape? WHY!? #1: I remember this story. Never knew it was finally solved. Such a damn shame what happen to him...

On that Wade story, I get that the smell would've been mitigated from the cold winter. But I call negligence regardless of the police's reason to not enter that maintenance room. They should've put on a brave face and be cautious as well, as they explore that room Wade was ultimately in. Assess the situation & leave no stone unturned because there will be some cases where police don't fully explore or do a double take

First story: Goddamn, I fully agree that the school was negligent for not having that clearly labeled as a hazardous electrical room. That and further securing the door would've saved his life. Second story: I do not understand Robert at all. You spent nearly a week in a place that nearly took your life, acknowledged that it was lucky to even be found, AND you were told the van was beyond saving. As Kidd and Cee said, my life is worth more than ANY object, contraption, etc... Final story: That was some incredibly bad luck with those plants.

@@ndt7379 And if the Van was his ONLY vehicle? Given he had to ask others to drive him around, vehicles aren't exactly cheap you know and even if you find one that is cheap, chances are it's entirely fucked, and you were scammed out of your money!

Getting lost in the desert twice is quite stupid but sneaking into a pitch black room full of giant audible machines and then sneaking in the foot of space behind one to “find your jacket” is also incredibly incredibly stupid. The school is at fault legally for not locking yes but- realistically cmon i hardly feel bad

@@deelee5958I mean, I feel bad because he was under the influence so he wasn’t exactly in the right state of mind, but come on dude. Why couldn’t you get the jacket the next day? You got all the way there and didn’t need it, he would’ve made it to the next day

What's crazy is that I attended the university mentioned in the first video and I never heard of this my entire time there. Probably cause it happened years ago. But we were given explicit warning to never enter maintenance rooms or service tunnels as freshmen. I find it disappointing that they didn't really search the outside of the dorm like that cause these spots aren't exactly hidden or unreachable. And someone could've checked if someone fell in there or something, so unless the shoe slipped out then that truly insane level of negligence.

The second person truly pushed his luck. He was told that his vehicle needed extensive repairs... if you know tow people they at least try to do basic things if possible, so the fact that this dude thought he could do it himself without someone sticking near him is so insane to me. The last guy was truly sad but it got me thinking about other unsolved cases that could have been the result of something no one was looking for, cause this one wasn't observed till 15 whole years on chance

There are quite a few dangerous plants out there that you do not want to touch. The U.S. really does not have any dangerous to the touch save for the manchineel tree, but it probably will not kill you outright. Of course we have the classics like poison ivy, oak, and friends but they just suck to get hit by.

I think i had a run in with a plant that produced triffadin i grabbed a weird looking vine in the woods and it was like instant blurry vision lightheaded and my body got so cold in the middle of summer i took a hot shower to try to stay warm

You missed a major clue in the first story, it was winter, therefore mitigating the smell. Not to mention, if you assume that the door was actually locked at all times, from the outside. Looking into the room from the maintenance entrance is going to be very different. I don't know about you, but if I'm not seeing anything right off bat out of place, why would I deep dive into a room full of electricity. Listen, cops don't always do their job, but in this case I feel like they made a very conscious call. And just because the shoe was outside the door, doesn't mean that he went inside. He could have lost it running away and it fell into the pit by chance.

Story #2. He made the first mistake, water or not. You never stay the same place waiting, in a boiling desert. But the facts that he did have water that lasted 6 days, it really makes no sense to stay put. Just shows that, with the none survival instinct he clearly lacks, don't go to the desert alone. On top of that, he clearly didn't study anything about the area he went to. He just saw nudecamp and hotsprings and thought, I wanna do that and left.

I get that the boy in the first story was intoxicated, but couldn't he have also tried making his way past the transformer with his front facing the wall & his back to the machine...? And I actually have to agree with both of you on the money; Cee, you're absolutely right that no amount of money is going to bring your loved one back, but Kidd is also right in that $5,000 was not nearly enough; for the emotional damage my family would be going through for the rest of our lives, missing this loved one? Better make it $5,000,000! 💵💸
