i think you guys would love naruto shippuden around the 120's and especially during the pain arc and the war at times..the themes it tackles are incredible..its a smart show..it not as surface level or simply things happening as western cartoons...it really makes you think and feel...teen titans is good but its for kids and is trying to be entertaining more then really deep...it tells you stuff but not in full

I never really thought about it like that. Like I knew she was shielding herself off from the world but man, their future is incredibly depressing.

Personally Cyborg and Beastboy's state in the alternate timeline were more heartbreaking in this episode IMHO.

I always thought that BB needed a lot of positive reinforcement because deep down he hates himself for not saving his parents. Then mento keeps reinforcing that by treating him like he should be capable of what an adult would be, when he was just a young kid. It's ironic, without his lack of confidence making him second guess himself all the time, I think he would be the second most powerful Titan after Raven.

In this series the doom patrol was his first family and as much as he wanted to protect them he wasn’t strong enough and with Mento always pushing him to be stronger he developed a self confidence issue. The Titans were his second family who supported him and helped him regain his self confidence, but without them he started to doubt and question himself You should also spoiler tag your comment for people who haven’t seen the show yet

@@TheJjcczz one doesn't preclude the other. It's not said that his comic origin isn't what actually happened in this itteration, it's just not mentioned. Only one chatacter being mentioned, not even necessarily in the show even, but okay I take your point about spoiling randos.

@@Hession0Drasha SPOILERS The fact that it’s not mentioned means that we don’t know if it happened or not. You can’t say a character’s motivation is because this thing might have happened, that’s just speculation and guessing. What’s not speculation and guessing, is that in this series the Doom Patrol was Beast Boys first family, and his time with them gave him self confidence issues that his second family, the Teen Titans helped him overcome. That’s his character arc for the series so we can point to it and say here’s the cause The writers also changed and added plenty of their own characters and story so there’s nothing to suggest it was or wasn’t changed

@@PatrixBest True, that has occurred to me in the past, but since the production went season by season, they had not thought that far ahead. A minor thing.

It's easily explainable: Raven went crazy due to her grief, to the point where she became unable to distinguish what was real and what was just her imagination. Since she isolated from everybody else, Trigon had no one to threat to make her obey and when his servants went to take Raven, she simply thought they were not real and annihilated them. In some way, her insanity and self isolation protected her.

@@thetwelfthdoctor9892 Indeed, her Isolation gave her the strength to keep Trigon at bay, but not to live her life after it. The only thing she exists for is to stop Trigon. I do however think that eventually this Raven may not hold out. How long can she live like that before even Trigon seems like good company?

In fairness Raven and Nightwing look fine. Cyborg said his technology is obsolete, which is the stuff keeping him alive and healthy, and whatever Beast Boy has been through over those 20 years has probably prematurely aged him through stress and depression.

Some people do look older prematurely for whatever reason. Heavy Drinkers for instance just do not hold up a lot of the time.

To be fair, mid to late thirties. And some people do age worse than others.

He was only short his time by 30 years, so that’s totally possible.

So he is basically stuck on an infinite time loop forever.

I think there was a comic where Warp was raised by the older titans to be good but eventually turns to villainy yet again.

@@ZealStarMedia You mean 80. He was from 100 years in the future and Starfire, damaging the suit, caused them to stop early at 20 years.

I like to imagine future Starfire would look similar to the one in the Judas Contract movie.

OMG I never realized it but this series was during a time before Damian was a proper character.

Definitely would have been Tim since Damian wasn't made yet, but it would have also been cool if it was Carrie Kelly as Robin to fit with the grim tone of the future, plus the kids at Beast Boy's act were references to the Mutant gang already.

Most depressing episode of the series? 'The End' parts 1-3 would like a word

It doesn't. They point out that Starfire prevented the item from being stolen by Warp, and in Warp's history it says that it disappeared on that day because he stole it. She prevented that. And since Warp was turned into a baby 20 years in the future, he'd be eighty by the time he is able to go back from his future, meaning even if he tries again he'll be much older, which changes history again. I'm not sure if DC follows the linear timeline rules of time travel or not, but whether she changed the singular timeline or created a a new timeline, Starfire changed history. Plus the entire reason the Titans drifted apart was due to losing her, and now she's there which is already a major change from what happened. Not to say that they won't someday break up the group for other reasons, but the future where they've all gone to shit can very possibly be changed.

@@kenjutsukata1o1 What I never understood about this episode is that the version of the future that Star sees could actually never happen at all because... Well, Trigon. The time travel device brought them twenty years into the future, but Trigon invaded, like... maybe a few months later, in season 3. So by all accounts, star should be seeing the world destroyed by the Demon lord, not that version of reality

@@d4n737 Besides the meta reason being production didn't have the whole Trigon incident being written/animated yet.. I read a fan theory that the in-universe explanation is like.. Raven isolated and gave up part of herself to fully seal Trigon somehow and that is why she was more monotone and stuff in the future.. and the white cloak.. or they *did* stop him together but broke up after.. like it wasn't as team unifying as the events we eventually see play out for whatever reason

@@BaconNuke To be fair, Raven does have the white cloak... She also seems to have gone insane, her mind is broken so... maybe since she's the gateway, Star kinda... Broke her, accidentally saving the world, at the cost of her friend

It's weird and funny that he gets picked on and shown as the weakest, but he can turn into a t rex. No one would ever mess with a t rex

Raven is on top as always, its just a matter of him Vs Starfire which is questionable. Thats also going by earth's animals alone. Though even Cyborg can get powerups with the right tech support.

I guess I'm in the minority here bc I completely HATE long hair Nightwing. It's ridiculous and not in a funny way.

The problem with it is how much of a weakness it would be in a fight. It's like wearing a non-detachable, non-functional cape attached to your head. Would constantly obscure his vision, and would be a huge target in a fight. Getting your hair grabbed in a brawl puts you in a *really* bad spot. Then again, a ton of lady heroes have long hair too. Guess the rules don't apply in comics. Except for the rule of cool. So I guess not liking the long hair boils down to personal preference, which completely defeats the point of making this comment. I shouldn't even bother posting it, but I've typed this much and fuck it I'm posting anyway XD

@@galonski64 It was cancelled but something is in the works. Though news seems pretty unreliable on exactly what it will be. Spin-off, re-branded S6 or something different its hard to say. Something is coming though and its not just the new Young Justice season.

Beast Boy looked like my depressed alcoholic uncle who's in his late thirties, and the tech that kept Cyborg alive was in pretty bad shape and probably had an affect on his body. So it's perfectly plausible still, especially since Nightwing and Raven didn't look that old.

Could also just be depression, an unhealthy lifestyle, alcoholism, and/or genetics. He looked like my alcoholic uncle who's in his late thirties.

It’s the same with Rin in Fate UBW. If you find out that the guy you’re starting to have feelings for is gonna grow up to be a tall, hunky badass, it’s certainly not gonna HURT the relationship, that’s for sure lol

Some people age worse than others. Beastboy could have been worse due to the fact of his animal side and cyborg due to the fact his mechanics were rusting and having a bad effect on his human side.

Tbh to really drive home the dangerous powers thing maybe just.. not have her even be in the future and the others just say one day she vanished/banished herself

SPOILERS I don’t know why you’d skip transformation since it’s a major character development episode for Starfire, who’s the only character to not get a season long story arc

at least episode 3 will start the first unsolved mystery of teen titans.

I mean..he doesn't exercise or train like Robin. He always eat junk food without thinking. Also , there is stress and depression for Beast Boy's failure. That makes him Bald and fat . It's pretty logical. Everyone's dna is different. Everyone aged differently.
