@@adamblack6867 Let me rephrase what I meant. Autotune had been out for years to correct pitch but it had never been used in the way that it had been used in Believe.
it's so great to see a young person making the effort to put himself into an endeavor and keep trying...fantastic job Chase! Try going back to the 60s with "I Got You Babe" and realize what an amazing and long career Cher has had!
And that effect on her voice was something she wanted to be used. She doesn't need it, she can sing, but it suits that kind of dance music. It's been a favorite since I first heard the song. The whole album it's from is good.
People that know nothing about music call the effect auto tune.Auto tune corrects pitch to make it perfect. What's used to get the sound you hear is a vocoder.
Great one. This was Cher's 1990s comeback. She had dealt with an illness that kept her down for a few years. Just about everyone had written off her career but then she came back with this and blew everyone away. Someone else suggested "Strong Enough" which is from this same period and is also great. Two others I'd love for you to do from the 80s "We All Sleep Alone" (which I posted you a link in the other vid to a great live performance) and "Save Up All Your Tears" official video. Both of these are during her Rock era.
ooooh man this song, i remember this one , the first time i heard it on the radio, and i loooved everything about it. was a new sound for her. all in all the late 90´s have been something else. nice that you reacted to her, maybe and some might say whhhyyyy, but maybe a reaction to kylie minogue would be cool , too. like slow, chocolate, padam padam, on a night like this. cool songs
Thank you for this one. You re very nice and your reactions are honest, cute and different! 🎉❤ Search if you want for "Save Up All Your Tears". You will like it too.
Only a few artists are amazing enough to be known by one name Elvis, Prince. Cher. Yes it is a dance song, well after the Disco Era but she got the spirit. And Cher is very high energy. I think she was about 50 when she made this video...I Got You Babe was the signature song for her in the 60s done with her Husband Sonny Bono; they had the most successful TV Variety Show of the era. I've mentioned before Adam Lambert performed Believe for Cher at the Kennedy Center Honors and made her cry...ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5PzQHZLiUPs.html

More Cher is a good thing. If you want to hear her at her musical best, anything from her albums "Cher," "Heart of Stone," or "Love Hurts" is the place to go. Her ABBA covers album was great; about the only person to cover ABBA and sound as good. If you want to hear how incredible her voice can be, "Sirens" is a good song. I'm no fan of the more recent electronic dance stuff, but there's always some good cuts amongst the meh stuff.
thanks for reacting to this song, it still sounds fresh (an early example of auto-tune) after all these years; also, from the same period and with a similar tempo-you might enjoy the song 'Freed From Desire' by Gala from 1996
What you should know about this song is that was the first time ever when autotune was used. Of course here that was strictly artistic decision, but the fact we have an autotune in the music industry becouse of that song.
Although it's a smashing song, the repercussions were seismic and not in a good way. It's almost if lesser talented entertainers were sanctioned to use autotune and similar effects because Cher had used the technology to critical acclaim. It had approbation. Thereafter pop music became the domain of the technicians, not the artists.
Please don't knock the "special effects" most of todays hits wouldn't sound half as good as they do without them, today it's usually autotune (aka cheating) at least her effects were meant to sound "special/different" not just acceptable.
