Tascini is my favorite designer. Needless to say that this is my most anticipated game of the year. Thanks for the review I have been waiting for more content about the game for a while (great job as always). I feel that people are sleeping on Trismegistus, mainly because of the rule book but if you get passed that it is a brilliant game that doesn't get the love it deserves.

Worker placement as a mechanic is so ubiquitous in Euro games and its such a simple concept that its not very easy ot innovate around it. That's precisely why I love Tascini games so much in that he always finds a way to make the same mechanic so new and innovative, whether its the Time wheels of Tzolkin or powering up workers in Teotihuacan or Dice Placement as a mechanic in the Marco Polo games. In fact, if I am not wrong, Marco Polo was one of the first games to actively use Dice in a "not so luck dependent" way for a meaty Euro game nad I feel that the game and Tascini in general does not get the due credit for the innovation that is brought to the table.

@@meeple Yes, I have played Marco Polo 2. Both Marco Polos are almost equally good for me. I would give a slight edge to Marco Polo 2 here because it's more accurate with the voyages theme as it gives more freedom of movement in the game which was very constrained in the original.
