This is why I save my money. Microtransactions are so ridiculous these days. Okay, it's understandable that video game development costs money, but come on now. Don't make your loyal players go spend even more money for something like a battle pass after they already spent around $60 or $70 for the base game. When video game company do business practices like that, they're turning their games into cash-grabs.

This is the most perfect example of the Tekken community being delusional and the most narcissistic of any FGC. They were pointing with the finger at SF6 and MK1 for being greedy and overpricing all their DLC. They were saying Tekken 8 is gonna be above all of them… while at the same time freely forgetting that it was Bamco first who started out with outrageous DLC‘s. In Tekken 7, you had to pay for frame data because Harada said „i was able to play games without it, so can you!… Unless you pay for it“. Or have all this extra additional Cosmetics for your customizable character in Soul Calibur 6 instead of being able to unlock them trough playing the game or buying them in game like in SC3. Or let’s remember Tekken 7 being such a barebones game with abysmally little content that at the end, it was SF5 that looked feature rich next to Tekken 7. And to solve this, they expected you to pay over 20 bucks for Tekken Bowling. Bandai Nsmco has been greedy from very early on and Tekken fans acting like they would be above the greedy tactics of Capcom ir NRS was irony at it’s fullest.

Tekken 8 was great... until it got updates. I was a little suspicious when the customisation options seemed less than Tekken 7 at launch but since the shop got added, now I know why.

You went from glazing Tekken 8 and saying how better it was to Street Fighter 6, to shaming Tekken 8 for its microtransactions. Oh, how the tables have turned.

Tekken 5 was the last actual Tekken. Then it spiralled into Dark Resurrection and beyond.

RPG games is being smashed by an example game like Baldurs gate 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and all its content.. worth to spend at 70 dollars.. While there's no Fighting game that is all round.. except for Tekken with it generous of content.. but they apply the same stupidity like Capcom and Nether realm did.

I learned a long time ago to wait until almost the end life of fighting games to buy them, when they sell complete with all the content and for cheap. It wouldn't be that way if they wouldn't be trying to squish every cent from my pockets if I buy them at full price day one. I don't play competitive, so I really don't care.

Harada is also a complete boomer who thinks it's just young people who blame other people for losing. Tekken 8 was never the best fighting game anyway to be fair, I seem to remember at one point being able to spend hours playing the game, now I just get sensory overload and need a break every couple hours.

One of my complains about the game is the Ultimate Edition. I bought the Ultimate Edition which is very pricey expecting that I will get access to season 1 characters and battle pass. But it turns out that only season 1 characters are only allowed and battle pass is a separate purchase. I'm so dissappinted about it. When I bought SF6 Deluxe edition it grants me season 1 characters access and the battle pass and I'm at least satisfied about it. Bandai Namco should be better than this. They should give us the battle pass for those who purchase the Ultimate Edition

3:27 whats crazy is: people were defending the customization in the game, when I could see so many things missing especially eye color I literally called it before it happened weeks in advanced (that they'd resell eye colors)

This game is just overhyped. Ik it’s optional to buy customization. But they fact that they planned to make a battlepass and also add eyes to it, shows exactly what there true intentions were.

Tekken 8 had the best fighters pass of them all. It made me uninstall the game forever. Now i don't deal with scummy companies with predatory DLC and microtransaction practices, and I don't to deal with a garbage game with absolutely garbage mechanics that forever ruins the face of the entire franchise. Heck with tekken 8. It's not worth saving. Heat and Rage are the antithesis of Tekken. The sooner this game becomes irrelevant the better it is for Tekken as a whole.

Bamco saw what happened to mk1 and just delayed their Mkcrotransactions so they dont have the same fate as mk1. And look at them now getting even more hate😂

Tekken on the PSP is one of my favorite fighting games ever. I had such a great game playing that one. I kind of feel like going back to it so Tekken 8 looks great but the tactics to have our money is not very tempting. Maybe at some point when the game is older I'd check it out and may even make a rock cover if the soundtrack is good

It's funny to me that people are mad about the BP of all things when the mutant netcode is still there. At this point, the fans who lap anything up and the devs putting in predatory practices deserve each other.

They should learn from Helldiver 2. Also make a pack dlc sets. I probably understand with inflation and working cost additions, but yeah, they should’ve been honest and could have put in 3 free battle pass ticket to redeem to unlock.

I think Tekken is now the most predatory and sleazy of the big 3, since at least MK and SF6 didn’t shadow drop their monetization schemes over a month after launch and all reviewers had turned in positive reviews. Disgusting 🤢 🤮

I like Tekken 8 but I too ignore the micro transactions shop. If I could turn it off all along, that'd be fine by me. Having stupid skins behind a paywall is silly, I agree but if I don't want to make use of it, just let me turn it off.

Bandai Namco probably should have chosen either a battle pass or online store. Doing both is a huge hit to their reputation.

Mortal Kombat, one Street fighter six tech and eight all of these fighting games have one thing in common. They all suck ass now because all these companies want to do is rip off the players. I remember back in the day when you can play MVC two if you wanted to character, you had to play the game in order to get the secret characters now they want to charge you an arm and a leg for not just the character but for each and every outfit $12 for a subzero fatality. I’m sorry but I’m not playing anymore of these games. I’m gonna go back and play my old school stuff and enjoy it because it was fun. All of this stuff can go suck my ass.

It seems like players are more upset about the nerve of the company to have a battle pass instead of being upset about the content you can get from it. Like if there was actually somethin worth getting then i could understand the hate, but theres nothing worth spending for in Tekken or SF6 so just better to ignore them.

Why would people whine about DLCs lthat don't effect gameplay like costumes? They don't effect the gameplay so there's no harm if you don't buy it.

I never buy dlc unless its *steeply* discounted *and* it adds substantial new features and content. And I *despise* microtransactions. And upsetting is just the worst.

I love it, at first I hated it until I saw what was inside the Battle pass you're getting back 600 Tekken coins from what you purchased for the battle pass. Plus extra poses clothes etc at least it's not as expensive as the gacha game battle passes.

Tekken was overhyped to begin with. Got tiered of content creators using mk1 to hype Tekken. Tekken didn't even achieve the attention it got on it's own.

The reason o like sf6 more is because the battle pass is just a hey you like these cosmetics you can get them you don’t have to it’s just small things in the battle pass maybe a couple of clothes for your avatar but you get fight money out of just doing challenges that you can just grind for fun tekken makes it like it’s cod or something

Tekken 3, 5 and 7 - 😍 Tekken 4, 6 and 8 - Mixed 😂 I love T8 but its not even 6 mo old yet, it's still fun and going through growing pains so relax

It's all based on player entitlement. If the game is great, without micro transactions, then the game is great. Period. If they sell additional content afterwards, it's the publisher's and customer's prerogative to participate. Additionally, games are expensive, like you said, cost of living is high, and their prices haven't gone up NEARLY as the same rate. Like I said, entitlement.

These are just for costumes, right? So, it's completely optional and you don't have to buy it. Gaming has always been an expensive hobby. I don't compulsively buy a game all the time. Maybe every few months I buy 1 and perhaps a more if they are cheap enough. I imagine developers need a bit more money to maintain their jobs and such.

At least if you bought the premium addition of MK1, you actually got basically 11 characters (6 main roster, 5 kameo) for the price, AND while they do charge (sometimes too much) for some of the skins, there are still more for free than not. From what I’ve seen of the customization in Tekken, it’s definitely not worth any extra money for any kind of battle pass. It’s terrible. Now they’re sloppily “balancing” the game into a very bad state. It’s all pretty dirty IMO.

Paid expansions are the only reasonable after purchase for a full priced video game.. Microtransactions are maybe reasonable in free to play games. I just stopped buying games that do this garbage. It's unfortunate. I've saved thousands of dollars a year, but I'm not getting to play titles I otherwise would have. Smh... Boycotting with my hard-earned money.

I wouldn't have bought the game if I knew they were gonna add even a damn battlepass. Just because some people will say that the game was fine on release doesn't justify it. Ever heard the phrase less is more? when the new technically optional content is so scummy, it can indeed devalue a product for the people that care. They clearly tried to cash in on the people who don't like that type of microtransactions by introducing them shortly after the refund windows were over.

So everyone was made up with the base game and thought it gave a lot more than mk1 and SF6 and was value for money. So why is it worse they released a store for costumes would it have made any difference if they had said it first.

Battle pass is just a "job" too force player to play their game whether they want it or not using FoMO. If you play 3 game and all of them have battle pass, you be "forced" to play 3 of times each day !

I think the right pass is really good, since you pay 6 bucks ONCE and keep it for ever if you don’t spend the tekken points. They basically encourage you to spend 10 extra dollars and give it to you for free. People are whining way too much.

Sadly, I think this is going to be the future of modern gaming. One thing is for sure, I have no desire to pre-order anything anymore. I pre-order a game and I'm still having to pay it out of pocket for " exclusive" content. It's complete BS... I'm just not a fan of this live service All of my favorite Fighting game franchises are switching over to......
